We’re going to talk about last night’s episode of The Bachelor. I want to tell you what’s coming up on Thursday, even though I’m just going to hint at it.
I will tell you on Wednesday who the guest is. And then, what else are we going to talk about? Oh, Saturday Night Live. 50th. Anniversary show on Sunday night. I’d actually think I’m going to spend more time talking about that just because Grant’s episode, I just don’t have a lot to say about last night’s episode.
I can’t get worked up over what these women are arguing about. It just doesn’t interest me all that much, to be honest with you, but we will talk about it, but just somewhat briefly, and we’ll get to all that momentarily. So I want to start off with this. One of the reasons that I don’t want to spend too much time on Grant’s episode last night was because I didn’t start watching it until about 90 minutes in.
So I was behind, and then once I started watching, I’ll be honest, I fast forwarded through Dina’s dinner conversation with Grant, Serafina’s dinner conversation with Grant, listened to a little of it, and was just like, okay, I know what they’re basically saying, like, oh, I enjoy spending time with you, and, and, and, and.
So, the only date I watched from beginning to end was the group date, and everything that happened on the group date. But, I just wanted to get through it really quick. The reason why I was 90 minutes late. And I didn’t start watching it until 8 30 central time was because I was recording Thursday’s podcast and sometimes something pops up on the news where it’s like, Oh, this would be a great podcast guest.
And that’s exactly what happened this weekend. So there was a story that came out this weekend. I saw it and I was like, I want to get that person on the podcast, but I had no idea if they would read my message because the only contact I had of them was their Instagram account and they didn’t follow me.
So it goes to their request folder and it’s like, you’re at the mercy of somebody checking their request folder if you send them a message and they don’t follow you. But this person happened to check their request folder, saw it and said, yeah, we’d love to do it. And. I just wanted to get an interview with this person and it’s not bachelor related, but they have an indirect connection to the bachelor.
I will tell you who it is on Wednesday, but I will say this. I think this is one of the top five interviews. I’ve ever done, not like me personally, and how great of an interview I think it is. It’s just who the person is and what they said, because I do think there are a lot of people that are going to go into this interview on Thursday, including myself before I recorded with them yesterday.
Went into it with a preconceived notion of this person based on what we saw on television and some of the things we heard about after the fact. And I think your image of that person will flip 180 degrees once you hear the interview on Thursday. I can’t wait for you guys to all hear this interview.
It’s going to be really good. So that’s going to run on Thursday. I will tell you Wednesday on the daily roundup on who it is. And it’s, it’s not like I’m going to jinx anything cause it is recorded, but it’s more along the lines of,
I, this is basically, I want to be the first podcast to have them on because as far as I know, they haven’t recorded any podcasts, but if I were to announce it. Who knows somebody could contact them today and put, put it up tomorrow. I don’t know. I didn’t even ask them actually, does anybody else contacted you?
Maybe I should anyway. It’s just a small thing on my end. I’ll tell you Wednesday and you’ll hear it on Thursday. It’ll also obviously be up on my YouTube channel. So you get to see them as well. And just, I’m so glad it was covered over the weekend and I was able to get hold of this person and they responded and we recorded yesterday.
It was great. It’s about an hour and 15 minutes. Really, really good interview. Can’t wait for you to hear it. All right. Let’s discuss grants episode last night. So they go to Madrid and here’s the thing. I just, Jesse comes into the living room. Basically all these women, all 10 women are in their pajamas and he tells them.
You know, he tries to pull the whole, Hey, there are going to be no dates today. You know why? Cause Grant’s not even here. Grant’s not even in this country. Oh, okay. Where are we going? Where are we? You’re going to Madrid, Spain. Your flight leaves in an hour. Okay. Jesse, can we stop with this? He does this every year.
You’ve got 10 women in their pajamas and no makeup and they’re out in Malibu and they have to get to LAX. They’re not dressed, they’re not packed, and you’re telling me their plane leaves in an hour and you actually made it? Of course you didn’t. I don’t know why they say this every year, it drives me up a wall.
No, their flight doesn’t leave in an hour. Because there’s zero chance Hell, if all the girls were dressed and packed and ready to go, just getting from the mansion to LAX wouldn’t be I I don’t even think it would be possible. And if it did, you would Okay, let’s say you got there. Don’t you kind of have to be at the airport?
I don’t know. 60 to 90 minutes before your flight leaves and you’re telling them your flight leaves in an hour and they’re sitting in the living room with their pajamas on hell, even if they’re flying out of Burbank, like, can we just stop saying an hour? He said, he seems to say that every season, Hey, your flight leaves in an hour, your dates in an hour.
It’s like, okay, anyway, so Jesse and Grant are playing basketball in Madrid and talks about. You know, you’re meeting the girls and this is where you can fall in love. I think, I think Grant even gave us the proverbial, Hey, I heard Madrid was a great place to fall in love line, which we know happens every season.
They could have been going to Timbuktu and Grant would have said, Hey, Timbuktu is a place where you can fall in love. Because that’s what every lead says in every city they go to. So we can stop that as well. We see him meet the women at the little cafe, which is the first big spoiler. I had this season, the day that it happened back in early October, maybe it was end of September.
We had the video of the women arriving at that cafe. We had the video of Grant at the cafe, hugging all the women as he arrived. Had the video of them sitting around and then had one on one footage of Dina and Grant on their one on one date. And so Dina, like I said, she gets the one on one date. They play some soccer with some kids in the street, the wish notes at the store.
And I honestly, I fast forwarded through a lot of the night portion because I wanted to get through it. So let’s talk about the group date, because I understand where I don’t think Carolina necessarily did. Anything particularly like bad again, within the context of this show, if you do what she did, you have to fully expect the reaction from the other woman.
If one woman had an issue with what Carolina did, basically making the group date after party all about herself and saying the things that she did. If one woman had an issue with it, then I think we can sit here and debate. Was that person wrong? Yes, Juliana was the one that pulled her aside. But it seemed like Juliana was speaking for the whole group because nobody in that group outside of one person, Dina, supported Carolina.
They all said she brought a lot of negativity and she made the dates all about her. And the other thing that Carolina is actually saying is, I know people don’t want to admit this and it doesn’t mean I’m comparing her to this guy, but they literally are having the same argument. Go back to JoJo’s season.
You remember Chad Johnson? Do you remember what he was saying? He was basically making fun of the other guys, and not understanding how all these guys could be so head over heels for JoJo when they barely know her, and they haven’t even been on a one on one date. That’s essentially exactly what Karolina said.
But everybody hated Chad Johnson. And a lot of people were defending Carolina. It’s like, look, Carolina is not wrong. Chad Johnson wasn’t wrong. You barely know this person. Why are you acting the way you are? Well, that’s where you almost have to separate the game and the television show from real life. So if he, if he, Chad and her Carolina, logically what they’re saying makes sense.
Yes, you’re flipping out and getting carried away over somebody you barely know. But Carolina did have a one on one date with him up to that point in Madrid. There had literally been two women that had had one on one dates, Alex and Carolina. And Carolina is just like, yeah, I just, I barely feel like I know him.
Which is fine, but when you say that in front of a bunch of women who haven’t had a one on date, one on one date with him, I don’t know what she was expecting in terms of the reaction. And if everybody is mad at Juliana for pulling Carolina aside and giving her her peace of mind and telling her that, and you think Juliana sucks, well then you must think Latia sucks.
But no, you can’t possibly think Latia sucks because she hangs out this past weekend in Montana with all the cool girls from the franchise. With Katie Bigger. And charity, but because Latia hangs out with those women, she can’t be criticized. I’m sorry, Latia and Juliana, not to mention others. There are basically having the same exact sentiment toward Carolina.
Juliana just happened to be the spokesperson that pulled her aside. So don’t tell me Juliana is the giant bitch in all this because Juliana was just speaking for the rest of the group. You heard them express themselves. Letia was very expressive about how she felt about Karolina and the negativity she brought to the group.
Juliana expressed herself, same way. Rose did it, Serafina did it, Zoe did it. So, I understand people want to single out Juliana because she pulled Karolina aside, but to me, the way I saw it, Juliana was speaking for the whole group. Because outside of Dina, nobody seemed to appreciate Karolina’s attitude, what she said, and her negativity that she brought to the group.
Which is now funny because when we see the previews for next week, Dina and Karolina are going at it. So the one girl that actually did stick up for Karolina last night turns on her next week and they argue. So now is Dina a giant bitch? I’m just, what Karolina did was not so egregious and oh my god, she’s the worst person ever.
But within the context of this show, she does seem a little exhausting to deal with. I’m clearly not the only person that thinks that. Outside of Dina, in last night’s episode, every other woman there thought that Karolina was exhausting. So if it was just one person, then we could have a debate, but all the women there didn’t appreciate what Carolina did.
And I don’t know, I don’t think it has to be a side thing here, because like I said, I don’t want to. Sit here and take a side. I frankly didn’t care so much as to what Carolina did. It just seemed like it continued on for longer than it should have. And it just got exhausting to deal with. And I could see why the other women were upset with her, but I can also see Carolina in her argument.
Like why are all these, I barely know him. I’ve been on one date with him. What do you expect? But then again, Carolina, that’s the show. Did you not know what the show was about? Do you understand how it works? So it’s a lot of different ways to look at it, but honestly, after that, and then it continued into rose ceremony night.
I’m just, I was kind of over it at that point. The only other point I want to make about the show. The rose ceremony in Madrid. I don’t think we’ve ever seen this no matter how cold it has ever been in an episode of this show. I don’t remember the women ever getting to wear jackets during a rose ceremony.
Ever. If someone can refresh my memory and does remember a time where they got to wear jackets. Please tell me what season and what episode. I can never remember that in the history of this show. I know there have been rose ceremonies that have been outside and I know those rose ceremonies have been cold, but I don’t remember, especially one where there was 10 women still left on the show or nine at that time.
Cause Rose had self eliminated nine women standing there in trench coats. I don’t remember that, but maybe there was a season where it did happen. Not sure. This podcast brought to you by Factor.
