Obviously tonight, episode five of grant season, they had to Scotland and this is the last episode before hometowns. That’s right. We’re at hometowns already. Next week, but you knew that heading into the season that this was going to be the shortest season. We’ve had in Bachelor world since I believe was a Jake Pavelka or was it Sean Lowe?
Can’t remember which one but it’s been a good eight to ten years since we only had five episodes Before hometown dates, so we pretty much know what’s gonna happen tonight. You know who your final four are I will be covering all that in tomorrow’s podcast, but we have some news in the golden bachelorette world.
Jonathan Roan, you know him. He was on Jones Season. He’s a guy that had never been to prom. She remember she ended up giving him a rose on prom date and he was named prom king. He was just on the episode a couple episodes ago on Grant Season where four of the guys came back for prom in the backyard of the mansion.
Well, we knew. Based on social media and interviews that he had done. He had gotten a girlfriend after he had gotten back from filming Jones season they posted a lot on social media Unfortunately yesterday we find out they’ve broken up and he is now a single man. He’s no longer with the woman that he’s dating and I can’t imagine people at that age are going to get into any sort of back and forth and take swipes at each other online.
He was very respectful in the way he announced the breakup, but he is single. And I got to believe this guy has got to be a front runner. For the golden bachelor, right? I don’t know when they’re choosing the golden bachelor. I know it films this summer. It films after paradise and paradise films in may.
So I don’t know exactly when they need to nail down who they’re going to choose as their golden bachelor, but we know there’s going to be in golden bachelor in 2025. It’s going to air after bachelor in paradise airs, which means it’s going to film after bachelor in paradise airs. Probably we’ll film the same time.
Golden bachelor and golden bachelorette seasons one. Filmed, which was basically July into August, I think. Yeah, they mostly aired in or filmed in August. So that is my guess. I got to think that Jonathan Rhone is going to be a heavy favorite to be the next golden bachelor. He was very well liked on Jones season.
I know he didn’t get to the final four, but that doesn’t really matter in that franchise. But he just broke up and now he’s got a story and we’ll see how many people follow that story, but I really do think that Jonathan Rohn has a good shot now to be the golden bachelor, because when you look at their season.
You look at the golden bachelorette season. I think everybody was saying that Mark, Kelsey’s dad had a great shot at it, but he is now been in a relationship for a few months. Kelsey even went over that over the weekend and a podcast that she did, or maybe she did a Instagram story on it, but no, I think it was a podcast.
She answered somebody’s question about, yeah, no, he’s still with the, the mother from one tree hill or something. I don’t, I can’t, her name is blanking. I’m blanking on her name right now, but anyway. If you look at the men for Jones season, I mean, I guess you could include Pascal. I don’t think Guy has any chance at it, but Pascal maybe, but, and then Charles L and Jonathan, I’d say those are your two front runners.
But I have no idea, any insight onto who they’re leaning towards and hell, Jonathan just became single yesterday. So they’re gonna have to get on the ball if they want to possibly have Jonathan as the golden bachelor, but I could totally see him as the next lead. I also want to talk about this hit piece that came out on the bachelor production team that dropped late Friday night.
Talk about a news dump. How come every time there’s a major story in bachelor nation, it dumps on Friday evening. And they’re trying to just slide it by. And this is a pretty damning hit piece on the toxic environment behind the scenes of the Badger. Nothing to do with contestants or anything like that, but more about the production team behind this show.
Deadline ran the piece and the title of it was inside the toxic culture of the bachelor franchise as crew deals with fallout of bachelorette pause extent of EP exits revealed. So. I think the interesting part of this story is there are a lot of seemingly current Bachelor producers. Some who have left, but some seems still be current that spoke based on anonymity and gave quotes about the franchise, but didn’t want to attach their name to it because clearly if they attach their name to it, they’re gone.
They’ll be fired in two seconds. So it starts out with a story about how Jen had to rewatch her proposal to Devin. On the, after the final rose and other producers were not happy with it. And they were trying to tell the EP do not do this. They were screaming apparently at them in the booth and they were ignored.
And the main EP of the show. Now her name is Claire Freeland. She is the other EP along with Bennett Grabener and Claire basically said. Well, this producer spoke to Deadline and said, you know why Claire Freeland did it because it was her idea. So they’re basically saying that Claire Freeland and Bennett Grabener are not taking into account producers ideas and they’re kind of doing their own thing.
We already know that Bachelor in Paradise has a new showrunner who’s never worked in the Bachelor franchise before. So. Not that I would tell people who are interested in going on bachelor in paradise when they start filming in a couple of months, I’m not going to tell them don’t go do it, but just know that.
The main show runner for bachelor in paradise has never worked on the show before the bachelor franchise, according to this article has laid off numerous producers in recent seasons. So when you go to paradise, you might be dealing with a bunch of producers you’ve never dealt with before. So it’s almost like we kind of don’t know.
Where they’re headed with this and speaking with deadline primarily. Primarily prior to the layoffs described by One Source as a bloodbath, a dozen Kern and former crew members claim that Claire Friedland and Bennett Grabner have run a toxic and hostile environment where only their ideas are accepted and others are warned to quote, step in line, or else be asked to leave.
Freeland and Grainer deny these allegations through a statement from their. Lawyer, which doesn’t surprise me. Of course, they’re going to say, I don’t think I’m going to be like, yeah, we don’t listen to anybody. We run our own thing. So it basically just goes on to say, there’s a lot of producers who have left in recent years and they’re firing a lot of producers and crew members.
And this quote was interesting to me. One crew member told deadline this. When Mike Fleiss left, there was a sigh of relief. Never did we think that two of the people that would take over would make us wish that he was still here. So that’s coming from a producer that clearly still works on the show. And.
What was interesting, this goes back to Mike Fleiss tweet a week before the show started. I brought it up the day after he tweeted it. I’m like, this is random for this guy to tweet this. When he said, it’s a new day, now the truth will be told, prepare to be shocked. Hashtag BachelorNation, ugly shit coming.
So clearly Fleiss knew about this. Probably knew about the Bachelorette going on pause. And then He had another tweet back on February 8th, where he just said, stay tuned. Hashtag bachelor nation. It was a quote tweet to somebody who says, seems like you knew Bachelorette was getting canceled or pause for a couple of weeks.
Based on your past tweets, what happened? Why does leadership matter? Give us answers. And then after the piece dropped on Friday from deadline, Mike Fleiss. Put that quote in his took a screenshot of that quote when Mike Fleiss left There was a sigh of relief never did we think that two of the people that would take over would make us wish that He was still here.
Mike Fleiss puts that in his tweet and then writes as his tweet Sigh of relief from all the years, 23, of high ratings and steady employment? Question mark? So, okay, I get what Fleiss is trying to do. He’s trying to shit on producers that are basically saying, Gosh, we were happy he’s gone but we never even thought that we would wish he was still here.
And he’s like, You’re happy I was gone when I gave you years of employment and high ratings? Well, of course he’s not addressing the major accusations against him. That were pretty serious and that caused him to basically get kicked out of the show and kicked out of this franchise, the franchise that he created.
So if you want to check it out, it’s on deadline and the title of it is inside the toxic culture of the bachelor franchise as crew deals with fallout of bachelorette pause, extent of EP exits revealed. It’s really, really interesting behind the scenes. If you want my opinion, I don’t, this me don’t think this means the bachelor franchise is dead or it’s going away.
But I do think this is leaning towards if things don’t turn around, they are just going to probably replace the whole executive producer of this show and just go under new leadership and see if they can do it that way. That’s just my outside opinion of this because the show has been on for 50 seasons.
It’s a staple among ABC’s lineup and. It still does halfway decent. It doesn’t do the ratings that it once does, but no show does. And it’s cheap to produce. I just think they could probably go in and take a sledgehammer to maybe all of the EPs and maybe even try and bring back some crew members who have worked in the past and get rid of Claire Freeland and Bennett Gravener.
I don’t know, but it’s certainly an interesting article because we’ve never seen producers. Current producers and producers who used to work on the show give so many negative quotes to a story that basically shits on the higher ups at behind the scenes of the bachelor franchise.
