Start your dogs new year off, right with Ollie. All right, let’s get into Grant’s episode last night and a lot of stuff to talk about. We started off the episode with one of my new favorite things that they’re doing in this franchise. And that is, what is it? Is this two seasons in a row? It’s definitely two, could be three, because who was before Joey?
Zach? I can’t remember if Jesse Palmer, when they were out of the country, was playing golf with Zach. I want to say that he was. I know he did with Joey. For sure he did with Joey. Actually, maybe he was just playing tennis with Joey. But actually for God, I’m mixing up who was, who was the last Patrick.
Oh, Jen, remember with Jen, it’s not like when they got to a new country, he was doing anything athletic with Jen. Remember he went golfing with her final three. He was golfing with Devin and Marcus and whoever Jen’s final three guy was. I already forgot, but. That’s like the new thing. Jesse bonding with either the lead or the final two or three guys over a round of golf.
I will say this, Grant, good looking dude, really slick, seems to have a lot of game. He should probably just stick to basketball. He clearly doesn’t play a lot of golf, which is fine, but. Just watching his touch around the green, can’t say he’s Rory McIlroy from 60 yards in, to say the least. Anyway, this episode we’re gonna get two one on one dates and a group date.
And, at this point, there’s seven women left. Five of the women have had one on one dates up to this point. Seraphine has had one, and Alex has had one, Carolina has had one, Dina has had one, and Latia has had one. So, normally you would think, okay, seven women left, five of them have already had one on one dates, Jessie has just announced, hey, we’re going to have two one on one dates and a group date, but roses are not going to be given out on the dates, we’re just going to have a rose ceremony.
So seemingly, the two women who haven’t had one on one dates would be getting one on one dates in Scotland, right? No, we’re just going to give one to Juliana and we’re going to stick Zoe on another group date and basically just tell her for no good reason whatsoever why they’re not giving her a one on one date.
It literally makes no sense. It would have made more sense if they didn’t give Zoe any one on one dates, something I told you at the beginning of the season that I was doubted on. Yet again, another thing I was right about in regards to this season. Just wanted to point that out. But Zoe. Is not even given a reason as to why she didn’t get a one on one date.
It doesn’t make any sense. The only time somebody would get two one on one dates before anybody else gets a one on one is because that person who never got a one on one is going home that episode. Not only does Zoe make it past this episode, she makes it pass the next episode. So it just never made any sense.
Miss maybe this was their way to maybe putting Zoe on the group date, knowing she would speak her mind about how Carolina was acting. Maybe that’s why they did it. There really is no good explanation. None whatsoever. Two women hadn’t had one on one dates. This is the last episode episode before hometowns.
Why wouldn’t you give them both one on ones makes no sense. But they gave one to Juliana and they gave Latiya a second one. What a surprise, those are the two final two women. So, Juliana gets the pretty woman date, and they had a fairly deep conversation. I do want to point out that when they had this ballroom dance that they had, these classically trained violinists were playing a song from 1988.
I would walk five hundred miles, and I would walk five hundred more, and if you know There was nobody singing like that during the dance, but you know what song I’m talking about. And It was just weird. I don’t know why that song was the one they decided to go with. Like here we are in 2025 and it looks like a very Bridgerton type date and they’re all dressed to the nines and you got a classically trained orchestra sitting there and they’re playing.
I would walk 500 miles. What happened to bust a move? Was that, did you not get the rights to that? It’s a weird song to choose, but. They have a kind of a deep conversation at dinner and Juliana tells him, look, growing up. I grew up with somebody, she didn’t name who they were, we all know Grant’s dad suffered from alcohol addiction.
And, and Juliana says, I grew up with somebody very close to me who had a problem with addiction. We don’t know who it was or what their addiction was, but she did talk about how she felt alone a lot. She couldn’t cope with all the negativity and confusion in her life. And she masks. Coming across as very happy and smiling all the time when a lot of the time that’s just a defense mechanism So I think that there was I don’t want to call it trauma bonding on this one But they certainly bonded over the fact that they were both raised I’m assuming it was, well, I don’t know, I don’t want to assume anything when it comes to Juliana in terms of who it was.
She just said somebody close to her suffered from addiction. We don’t know what it was, but it sounds like somebody that she saw on a regular basis. Maybe it wasn’t her mother or her father, but she said it was somebody close to her. So, she really bonded with Grant over that and it seemed like that brought them closer.
They kissed a lot. And she told him, although I’m smiling all the time, it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m happy. I hide it. And then they went outside and they got a little firework show there in Scotland. And these two clearly have a connection and. Although, later on, when we have our second one on one, we will talk about that.
I know a lot of people, I don’t want to say a lot of people are doubting this spoiler, but after last night, I’ve had at least three or four messages, either in email or in DM, that I’ve seen. That basically said, are you sure about the spoiler? And, again, at this point in the season, there’s nothing I can say that’s gonna change anybody’s mind.
If you want LaTia to win, you can easily look at the edit and say, like, Oh my gosh, he totally wants to be with LaTia. But, if you want Juliana to win, you can easily make a case that it’s Juliana. So, you can’t go off what the edit says, because the edit is trying to trick the audience, and the edit doesn’t play off of any spoilers that are out there.
So, What I gave you at the beginning of the season was before I saw any edits. And that’s what I always try and do because I don’t want, let the edit affect anything because the edit really doesn’t mean anything in the long run. It’s what happened on that day, back on November 1st, who did Grant propose to?
That’s what I found out not, Hey, I think he proposes to this person because look at the way they’re being edited. That has nothing to do with anything. I’m trying to find out what happened on the last day of filming. And I did. I’ve done it a lot. A couple times I’ve been wrong. A few times I’ve been wrong.
This time I’m not. He’s with Juliana. This podcast is brought to you by, also, Pretty Litter. This time of year, every cat is an indoor cat. If there’s one thing that can really stink up being stuck inside, it’s the litter box. Don’t let that nasty smell ruin your winter wonderland. Switch to Pretty Litter.

All right, let’s discuss the group date. Let’s just get to the main point, Dina versus Karolina. I think at this point, obviously, of the five women on the date, the four of them were the ones that were not happy with Karolina.
And Karolina didn’t do herself any favors. Like, look, we’ve, wow, watched 50, this is the 50th season of this franchise. 29 bachelors, Grant’s the 29th bachelor, there’s been 21 bachelorettes. This is the 50th season. If you’re this late in the game, And you’re on a five person group date and everybody else is hanging out with the lead and having fun with the lead.
And you’re sitting at a table by yourself. Don’t claim naivete and don’t claim that you’re having fun. You’re clearly doing that. For attention. There’s no other reason why you would be sitting off by yourself while everybody else is hanging out with the lead. You’re doing it for attention to make sure Grant comes over to you.
And then you play the semantics game, Carolina, later on with Dina saying, he didn’t, I didn’t grab him. He grabbed me. And Dina’s like, I felt like Dina was about to backhand her. Like, come on, Carolina. You knew what you were doing. You’re going to play the semantics game. Like, Hey, I didn’t take him. You made him come to you because you were sitting there by yourself on a group date.
Of course, he’s going to come over to you. And you know what? If he wouldn’t have come over to her, she would have bitched that he didn’t care about her. So, it was a lose lose for Grant. You go over to her, you ditch the other four, they’re mad at you. You don’t go over to her, and you stay with the other four girls who are having a good time with you, then Carolina thinks you’re insensitive.
Look, we all know who’s in the wrong in this, and it’s Karolina. Does she deserve hate on social media? No. Does she deserve to be sent death threats? No. Does she deserve to be called names? No. You don’t need to do any of that. But, you are allowed to have an opinion on that date. And that opinion is probably shared by 95 percent of the people that watched the episode last night.
She did that purely for selfish reasons. Exactly what she did worked. She got grant to come over to her and then walked off with grant. She can claim all she wants like, Hey, he went and talked, he grabbed me. Come on, Carolina. We’re not that dumb. We know what you were doing. And then she gets them alone and it’s almost like what’s interesting.
And she’s like, Hey, I feel like you have stronger connections with everybody else. And then, you waterworks. And she’s like, I don’t want to ask for validation yet. That’s kind of exactly what she was looking for. She wanted grant to tell her, I want you here. I do have a connection with you. It’s exactly what she was looking for, or else she wouldn’t have told him.
I feel like you don’t have, you have stronger connections with other women. She wanted him to say, I also have a strong connection with you. Like that’s exactly what she wanted out of him. And that’s exactly what she got out of him. Could Grant have ended it right there? Yeah, but I also think that Grant did like Carolina, probably wanted to take her to the final four, but as the night went on, and she’s arguing with every woman, all four women hate him, or hate her, hate’s a strong word, all four women were very bothered by her, annoyed by her, they’ve all said the same thing, it’s the Carolina show every time, and I think when you get to this point in the game, we know this, You know, the lead, while you don’t want to have, you want to have separate relationships with everybody, you also want to pick somebody that is liked by other people.
And I think Grant started seeing. Okay. If everybody has a problem with Carolina, maybe she’s not the woman that I am seeing her as, and the one that I’ve gotten along with all show, it’s just the way I see it, it’s kind of the way it works. There are very few leads who have ever chosen somebody who wasn’t well liked outside of Ben Flanick choosing Courtney.
Yes. The other women in the house just did not care for Courtney and. Jake choosing Vienna. Those are probably the only two winners ultimately weren’t well liked by the rest of the group. And yeah, if you’re a lead, you feel more comfortable choosing someone or advancing someone in the show. That everyone seems to get along with and they just did not get along with Carolina.
And yeah, it was the Carolina show. Her negativity just seeped through everything. It was very, very hard watching her just constantly. You know, look, if you’re walking up the steps after her argument with Dina. If you’re walking up the steps and raising your arms and being super sarcastic. By the way, Carolina did seem drunk to me.
Pretty tipsy on that after party, you know, you’re walking up the steps and you’re waving your arms. I guess I’m crazy and I’m evil. It’s like, do you really think the people at home really can relate to you and want to see you win when stuff like that is happening? When all the other women, it’s not like it was a one on one thing.
It’s not like one woman had an issue with her and it’s just like, all right, maybe some people see one woman side and one people, some people see Carolina side. No, it was four against one. Every single one of them had a complaint about her and the way she was acting and how she always was going after Grant’s time and taking time away.
And then she blames it on the weather. I didn’t know it was going to rain and our date was going to get cut. It’s like, my God, it just, it just gets exhausting after a while. And I guess that’s the best way to describe Carolina this season. She’s just exhausting and you just don’t need that type of vibe and that type of energy around Grant.
And then to wrap it up, he has the one on one with Latia. And I think a lot of people, like I said. Gotten three or four emails since last night. Are you sure about the spoiler? He really likes Latia. And then there are some people that are jumping to the, oh, well, it’s clear that it’s the fact that she’s Mormon is the reason why he doesn’t choose her in the end.
Look, I don’t know why he didn’t choose her. Did it play a role? I guess only Grant knows the answer truly to that question. And when he does, Not pick LaTia at the end? Is he gonna say it’s because you’re Mormon and I’m not? No. Deep down, could it have played a role? I’m sure it played some role. Because that is a very, very big part of her life, which is perfectly fine.
But it’s not a big part of Grant’s life, and that’s a very big commitment to make. He’s not Mormon. And she’s only dated Mormons. She’s saying she’d be open to it. But I think with that much support at home, we’ve even seen clips next week of her hometown date already, I’m sure while they will say we want LaTia to do what’s best for LaTia, I’m sure deep down the family wants her to choose somebody.
That is Mormon. So it probably played a little bit of a role, but look, I’m not going to sit here and answer for Grant. Grant knows why he doesn’t, why he didn’t choose her. And he’s got his own reasons. Maybe we’ll find out on engagement day when the finale airs, maybe we will get a direct answer out of him of why he didn’t choose Latiya.
I don’t know. Maybe he won’t. Maybe he’ll be vague about it. I think Grant’s a pretty good communicator on this show. I think he really seems to know what to say in certain situations, but if Latia being Mormon was the main reason he didn’t pick her. I don’t think he would say that, and I can’t sit here and say it is or it isn’t.
I, do I think it played a role? Yes, but what percentage of a role it played? We’ll just have to wait for the finale to see what he actually says. But yeah, that’s a very big thing. If you’re not Mormon, and you didn’t grow up in the Mormon religion, and you just met a girl that she’s great, and she says, everybody I’ve dated is a Mormon, I’ve never dated outside of my religion, but I’m open to it.
Yeah, but you know. I mean, we’ll, we’ll be able to gauge next week on the hometown date. We know there’s going to be people in her inner circle, part of her family that probably want her to date within her Mormon faith. And there’s, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but that means no grant, you know, because he’s not Mormon.
So Carolina gets sent home. Serafina gets sent home and Alice gets sent home. I think all of them said. I felt blindsided. I think all three of them said at some point when they were being walked out or when they walked out and we saw their ITMs, whether it was in the car or just voiceovers of them. Yeah, I think they all said at some point, I feel blindsided.
So, oops. Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Like I said, late night for me.
