Daily Roundup 3/27 – A Podcast Change Up Today, Grant Interview That Has Us Reading Between the Lines, A Powerful Episode of Survivor, That Wild Ass DONDI Finale, & Latest on my Meteor Mini

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Thursday, kind of a wonky day here on the podcast with. What I’m doing with the Daily Roundup and podcast number 4 36 and what I’m gonna be doing tomorrow, just because things were kind of all thrown for a loop yesterday.

I’ll explain all of it in a little bit. We are gonna talk about a little bit more about Grant. There is an interview that he did. Which is sort of revealing a little bit more without going into details, but I think we can all read between the lines. We are going to talk about Survivor last night in one of the most powerful scenes we’ve ever seen in this show’s 48 year history, if not the most powerful.

We’ve got Dealer No Deal Island from Tuesday night, which plays into the wonky day of podcasting. I’ve got an update on the Meteor Ball. My plantar fasciitis ball that I’m, everyone seems to be enthralled with. And if we get around to it, of course, a 9 0 2 1 oh OMG criticism yet again, and we will get to all that momentarily.

Steve terms and conditions apply. See site for details. Okay, today is Thursday. Usually you get three podcasts on Thursday daily, Roundup Sports Daily, and the Weekly podcast. I was all set to record with poverty yesterday to go over many things. I mean, her reality TV career could be a three hour show, but I wanted to talk about dhi.

And I wanted to talk about the traitors. I wanted to talk about her career on Survivor, and she’s got a book coming out this summer. Nice Girls Don’t Win, and she just started a podcast. There’s so much to talk about poverty with. We were scheduled to record yesterday. However, if you looked at her Instagram on Tuesday night, she was at a ddy finale watch party and unfortunately she lost her voice during it.

She messaged me yesterday morning and said, I’m sorry, I can’t do it. I lost my voice. Can we reschedule it? I said, sure. So it looks like we’re gonna record next week and she will be the weekly guest next week. However, finding that out yesterday, very tough to get a late guest on Wednesday afternoon. So what I decided was this yesterday’s podcast with Ben Rizone from the Joe Schmo Show has now become podcast number 4 36.

I will just release the YouTube version of it today at 9:15 AM Eastern Time like I usually do just on my YouTube channel. So you’re gonna have the daily Roundup in the Sports Daily, and then on my YouTube channel you’ll get the video version of Ben for podcast and episode number 4 36. I didn’t feel like re-releasing the audio version because you can just go to yesterday’s podcast and listen to it, but.

It’s a good thing that when I did record with Ben, you know, the plan was like last week before I left for Vegas is when I recorded with Ben. ’cause I had gotten the screener to the finale. I had watched the Joe Schmo finale last week before I left for Vegas. So I recorded with him last Tuesday. And the plan was, I had already booked parity for yesterday, so I knew I was just gonna run audio of Ben, but I figured.

Why not have video as backup? And thank God it ended up saving me because poverty had to postpone yesterday. So I will just run podcast number 4 36 in video form. Today. If you wanna listen to the audio, you didn’t get a chance to listen to it yesterday, go listen to yesterday’s daily Roundup, which has the 30 minute interview with Ben Fra Zone.

And then tomorrow for the daily Roundup is something I was gonna do today for audio, but I just got backed up. So what I’m gonna do tomorrow is reader emails, the reader emails. I think there’s only 10 or 11 of them, but if you wanna send more in, you can ’cause I haven’t recorded it yet. But if you want to email me at steve@realitysteve.com.

You can do that, and I’m gonna record reading your reader emails, and I’m also gonna put that online on my website. So usually that’s on Wednesdays. It’s gonna come on Friday this week. So tomorrow’s daily roundup will be me. I. You know, probably touching on a couple topics if something, if something comes up in Bachelor Nation or whatever, and then I’m gonna answer your reader emails, and then I will have a column tomorrow with the final reader emails of the season until Bachelor in Paradise starts airing.

So that’s the wonkiness of it. Very rarely do I have someone cancel on the day of, or at least not cancel. She postponed and I get it. I mean, I, I’m guessing she didn’t wanna talk with a very hoarse voice and do an hour interview with me, but. We did reschedule for next week. Hopefully we get that done in poverty.

You’ll hear her next week because obviously I wanna talk to her about her reality TV career. She’s gonna still be doing reality tv. She’s on Survivor Australia this summer. I don’t even know if we can watch that here on the States. I’m sure you can through some sort of VPN, but she’s on that this summer.

That’s not a secret. I’m not breaking any news here. Most people know that. She’s on it this summer. She filmed it. I think right after she filmed Ddy last summer, so you have that to look forward to with poverty. But I have so much stuff. I’ve never spoken to poverty in my life and there’s so many things to talk about.

Hell, I just broke it down into four different parts. I want to talk to her about Ddy. I wanna talk to her about Survivor Traitors and then her new podcast, nice Girls Don’t Win, which is the title of her book that’s coming out this summer. Just being a villain on reality tv. Even though she doesn’t really fit the mold of a villain, she embraces the role of a villain.

Hell, next week she starts teaching a class on how to be a villain. So all, so many things we gotta talk about with poverty, but that’s how today is gonna break down. There’s not going to be a new. Episode 4 36. I’m just using Ben from yesterday as episode 4 36, and it looks like assuming we can get this recorded next week, poverty will be episode 4 37 next week.

So yesterday I thought one of the more important things that Grant said in post-show interviews was reminding people that are jumping down his throat for letting Latia speak her mind when he knew he wasn’t gonna pick her. He said it. I will repeat it again. Grant, if you want to give him shit, give him shit possibly, or.

At least say, Hey, maybe you shouldn’t have said the things that you did or could have worded things differently, even though we truly don’t know what he said, and I’ll get to that in a second. But you can’t fault him for letting Latia speak her mind and then him dumping her, because that’s the way it works on the Bachelor.

The Bachelor has always had the final two women show up to the final Rose ceremony and the final two woman speaks first, so they can have that reaction when she gets dumped. Bachelorette, completely different. We’ve had many seasons where the bachelorette lead was allowed to go to her final two guys room, either the morning of or the night before and tell him, I’m not picking you.

No need to show up. I’ve decided to go a different direction. I’m decided I’m in love with somebody else. But the Bachelor go back all 29 seasons. 29 times the final two women have showed up at the final row ceremony. And have had a speech. And the girl who’s about to get dumped outside of, you know, one or two seasons, the girl who gets dumped goes first and the lead has to let her speak and then he steps in, tells her how great she is, and then throws in the big butt.

And they do that probably to embarrass the women. ’cause this is the way the show has always been. It sucks, but it’s part of the show. So you can’t jump down Grant’s throat for that. Now what other people are con criticizing grant for is what Latia said the day she spoke to him. After he had dumped her, what she said after that, and then what she said on the after the final rose on Monday.

So Grant and Juliana are making the media rounds, and I did find this clip from Entertainment Tonight on TikTok, and I wanna play it for you. It’s about a minute long and it’s a reporter sitting down with Grant and Juliana and asking them about the finale and post-show stuff and just being a couple.

Let’s listen to this and, and we will read between the lines of it. At the end of it,

how does it feel to finally be out in the open? No more hiding. It feels amazing. Now we get to do life. Now we get to do life.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a finale down to the Wire like this, but Juliana, it had to be hard to watch last night.

I didn’t watch last night. We talked about it. Right. I think it was the best decision for the both of us. From what I’ve heard, he handled himself very well and yeah. Yeah,

yeah. Can I ask, what was your reaction to Latia saying that Grant told her and her mom that she was the one as early as week two?

She has every right to take whatever grant says and process it in her own way. Her perception is her reality. Yeah. She has every right to feel validated and whatever she wants to.

Did you feel like you got the closure you wanted, grant? Is there anything else you wish you could have said to Latia last night?

No, honestly, no. I think that everything that I said. Was needed to be said. There’s not many words that you could say. Yeah. Just kinda have to let her feel how she felt. Totally say what she had to say and you just gotta accept it because you know, I know my reality and I know what happened and that’s okay.

I’m fine with it.

How does it feel to I know my reality. I know what I said and I’m fine with it. It is very clear that the things that Latia said to Grant the day he dumped her and on the after the final Rose Grant doesn’t agree with but. He’s taking the higher road and he’s not gonna sit here and get in a media spat with her and say, I never said that.

But what he’s essentially saying is, it’s not what it seems, the way she presented it. Now I don’t know what he’s talking about because he hasn’t specified. And it’s probably smart of him too. Just leave it be. But it is clear he is questioning the things that she’s bringing up the day it happened. And on Monday.

It’s clear as day. He does not agree with what she’s claiming, he said, however, unfortunately we’re not gonna get our answers because it doesn’t look like, at least right now or anytime soon, Grant’s gonna say, you know what? When Latia said this, the day I dumped her, and when she said it again on the after the final rose, that’s not what I said to her.

It’s clear he doesn’t feel that’s what he said. Now, this could be another Rose Carolina situation where Grant said something and he’s not realizing how it came across. I’m not calling Latia a liar. You’ve heard me the last couple days. I said, I can’t believe she made this up out of the blue. But now we’ve got Grant basically saying, I know what my reality is.

I know what went on, so it’s kind of frustrating because now we’re banging our heads against the wall, being like, okay, well then what is it? But he doesn’t, he doesn’t owe us anything. He wants to move on because if he keeps talking about it, and if he fights back and says, you know what? Latia was wrong when she said that I said this, then Latia is gonna come back and it’s just never gonna get resolved.

It’s over and done with. You could tell when Grant was on the couch on Monday, he just wanted to get to his relationship with Juliana. He apologized, but he never went into specifics. And I get it. Why would you wanna rehash this? And the second he fights back against Laia on Monday, he becomes public enemy number one because he could tell that all of America was behind Latia.

Fine. Let her say, he let her say her peace. It’s clear he doesn’t agree with it, but he’s not going to fight it and not going to debate it with her. He’s just moving on. And I think that’s the right angle to take, although I know it doesn’t satisfy a lot of the viewers of this show because they want to know, okay, wait a second.

Why even say that if you’re not gonna tell us what you think you said or how you thought you came across to her? So, unfortunately, that’s the position that we’re in, but when I heard that from Grant, I’m like, oh boy. He doesn’t, he doesn’t agree with what Laia said the day he dumped her, and he doesn’t agree with her what she said on Monday.

But look, there’s no need to rehash it unless he brings it up. There’s nothing more to speculate. I don’t think Latia was lying, and it is very possible that Grant isn’t understanding how what he says to women can be taken. It is possible. Maybe Latia took it away. She shouldn’t have, but she gave the receipt even though we didn’t see the receipt or hear it in audio, she said, I told him the day before.

Oh my God, we’re getting engaged tomorrow. And Grant said, I know, like that’s what we want the answer to. Grant, when Laia said that to you, the day before the final Rose ceremony, we’re getting engaged tomorrow, did you say, I know I love you. I love you, I love you. It looks like he’s not gonna answer that specifically, but he’s saying by that answer, he doesn’t agree with what she said on Monday night.

So I know. Frustrating, but it is what it’s. We all move on. They’ve moved on. We need to move on. But I just wanted to play that clip because that was the first time I had heard Grant kind of dispute what Latia said on the final episode and then again on the after the Final Rose Live Show on Monday night.
