Daily Roundup 4/8 – Final Thoughts on the Juarez/Gingras Interview, Gabby Windey Takes Shots at Clayton – Again, Gleb and Brooks Break Up – Again, & Thoughts on Idol This Season

You are listening to the Daily Round of As part of the Reality C Podcast. I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Tuesday. Good show for you today. Got some final thoughts on the jist interview. We are definitely going to talk about the Gabby Windy interview with the Las Culturist Podcast with Bowen Yang and, sorry, I forget the other guy’s name that has been making the rounds.

Everybody’s got a thought on this. My thought pretty much echoes what everyone else is saying. Chenko and Brooks Nader have broken up. However, the two stories that were released yesterday at the time, at least of this recording, are very interesting about why. And then I’m gonna talk about something I haven’t talked about since it started this season.

And that’s American Idol. I got some thoughts on Idol, well, one in particular, and we will get to all that momentarily. So one of the final things, at least for the time being that I wanted to say about the Friday interview with Rachel Juarez and David Ingris is this, I am well aware that there was a lot that David Ingris said in that video, in that interview that was factually just incorrect.

He said a lot of things that were factually incorrect, and I’m not just talking about legal stuff. He was just kind of riffing and. Somebody pointed this out in one of my comments, and I guess I didn’t really recognize it in the moment because you saw a lot of my facial expressions, and for me, I don’t wanna say I tuned out, but when someone talks for that long, you can’t possibly comprehend every single word that they were saying.

Some stories just kind of went into an ear out the other for me. But one of the things that I did notice. And again, somebody pointed this out in my comments, so I don’t wanna say I noticed it while it was happening, but I noticed it after the fact, after I read this person’s comment, was that amazingly enough, the impression that this person got from the interview was that Rachel came prepared and JS didn’t, which is really weird because.

I don’t think that Gris actually thought that Rachel was gonna come prepared. That’s the bizarre part. If he doesn’t want to come prepared and he thinks he’s got everything memorized, that’s his deal. But I think he didn’t think that Rachel was gonna have paperwork printed out his case, sightings, printed out stuff, highlighted notes saying Rule 26, written on the notes, like I don’t think he actually thought that.

And I’ve listened back. To the whole interview over the weekend. There are a bunch of people who are also covering this on their YouTube channels. Lauren NA’s covering it. Omar Tilted lawyer, and Bruce. From Oregon. He’s got a video on it. Like I’ve seen clips of all these people and I, and I commend them for doing this.

I knew it was gonna be some very, very highly important content for them. And they’re all having a field day with it, which is fine. I don’t care if they play my whole video. You know, Jinger is the one that says, oh my gosh, if you play more than two minutes of my video you are. That’s a violation of copyright infringement.

I don’t give a fuck. Play my whole video on your video. It doesn’t matter to me. It just means more engagement. More people are talking about this. I want this video to be seen by as many people as possible. By the way, speaking of that, I’ve gotten three emails from lawyers not named Rachel Juarez, three emails from lawyers that I don’t think have ever emailed me since I started talking about this case.

And all of ’em were absolutely singing the praises of Rachel Juarez and could not believe the performance that Jing Gris gave on Friday. It’s just comical because I really do think I. You know, when I was watching it back, and there’s, there’s one video out there. I don’t even know who this person is, but like the first three minutes of their video, they did an excellent mashup job and just pulling clips of so many different times during the interview where Jerris seemed lost, flustered, frustrated, and it’s literally like three or three and a half minutes straight and it’s pretty funny.

But when I watch it. While it is funny, it is also completely disrespectful to Rachel. I cannot believe that Rachel made a point where she felt she was right. And Gris, who I guess was eating cookies before we started recording, had a cookie on his desk and said, what do you want, Rachel? A cookie? Like literally, that’s a comeback that I used in fifth or sixth grade for people who I thought.

I had a better point then, or they made a point. I’m like, great, what do you want? A cookie? But you, we usually say, we used to say, what do you want a medal or, I’d say back in the day, this is in the eighties, I’d say that in 10 cents will make, will let you make a phone call. Or I said, Hey, you got 25 cents.

Go call someone. Who cares? I used to like that one. Back in the day when you used to actually have to call someone for payphone, people are like, do I have 25 cents? Why? And I would say, go call someone who cares? I thought I was so Billy badass. Anyway, but that’s my whole point in this. I cannot believe he did that to her.

What a lack of respect for a fellow lawyer. A fellow lawyer who knows more about the case than he does because she actually read so much of the filings before David Jinger took over on, I believe it was March 25th. I could be wrong on the, I know it was March of 2024, but it, I could be wrong on the day.

It was either like the 20th or the, somewhere between the 20th and the 25th. He just loves to bury his head in the sand and say, Hey, before my time, anything that happened before that, I’m not focused on that. I’m focused on winning this appeal and moving forward. And yet he’s lost everything. Lost the trial, lost the appeal.

Somehow thinks he’s gonna win reconsideration. If he doesn’t win that he thinks he’s gonna win the Arizona Supreme Court. If he doesn’t win that, he thinks he’s gonna win the US Supreme Court. Like we can see his level of delusion, but holy shit, that was just. The more I see clips and the more I rewatch some of the things that happened in that interview, I’m still shaking my head.

I cannot believe it. And yeah, I have not heard from Jerris since we recorded. He sent me, actually, you know what, I’m gonna read you the text he sent me after we recorded. He said, Steve, all else aside, just wanted to say thank you for the debate today. This conversation was hard and clearly Rachel and I don’t see eye to eye.

That is a hundred percent okay with me. My take is that Rachel believes her position is correct and I think her patient position is wrong, but this is why we have courts and hopefully we will get to Arizona Supreme Court to settle all this once and for all. But no matter how this ends, I have no problem with you and I’m not your enemy.

And then I responded and basically just told him. The biggest complaint I had about the whole interview. Which was, man, you talked too much and I feel like I should have stepped in a couple times. I said, I can’t remember a time where Rachel had more than 30 or 45 seconds straight of talking, and you had close to a hundred on those.

Your first answer about Clayton’s cross was 10 to 12 minutes straight, and I don’t like cutting people off. My listeners know that. But maybe I should have stepped in and made this more of like a presidential debate where we set a timer at three or four minutes for each answer and then the second it hits, we mute you and we move on to the next person and let them answer.

I said, but when you watch it back, you’ll see how much you got to talk to her and how much you interrupted her. She was gonna let you speak and you did, but at times I probably let you go too long. That’s all. And I said, and I ended it with one thing’s for certain. You can’t say you weren’t heard. And that was on Thursday night, basically right after we recorded.

Have not heard from him since. So I guess I don’t expect to unless something else comes up. But yeah, the more I see clips, the more I rewatched some of the things. The cookie thing was about as condescending and prick behaviors you can get. I mean, to tell a fellow lawyer who made a great point, what do you want?

A cookie? What do you want me to say, Rachel? I just. Totally disrespectful. Podcast is brought to you by Zocdoc.
