Daily Roundup 4/25 – Thoughts on Rachel Juarez’ Interview Yesterday, More Survivor Coverage as David Speaks About Joe’s Betrayal, Pilot Pete’s New Reality Show, & an Email About Jax Taylor

Pilot Pete is on a new reality show. It’s called Destination XI. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is hosting the show. There is a $250,000 prize and twists from three reality stars. 10 strangers come together to travel to unknown locations around Europe with a chance to win $250,000. If they can answer the question where the X are.

We. Jeffrey Dean Morgan said, you have no idea where in the world you really are. No map, no plan, no clues According to the synopsis, each episode will take the players on an adventurous bus ride to unique and unfamiliar tourist attractions that have been gamified into experiential challenges. They will need to rely on their knowledge of pop culture, history, geography, and observational skills to win clues to their current location and earn an important advantage.

Contestants must tap into their own personal expertise, identify hidden clues that are disguised as artifacts and discern intentional misdirects and from competitors to ultimately determine their whereabouts. There’s gonna be mind games and ultimatums. They said some familiar faces are also making waves within the group.

When Love Island USA’s, Janae Craig and the bachelor’s, Peter Weber joined the group and change the course of the game. Plus, another reality star is competing for the prize. The challenge and Big Brother alum Josh Martinez. Josh Martinez is starting to get up into my jelly roll phase where it’s like enough already.

I think I say jelly rolls everywhere. I feel like Josh is everywhere. Anyway, this is based on a Belgian competition game show with. It’s gonna end when designated contestants having to decide where they think they are by placing an X on a location in a map room, and whoever’s guest is the furthest away, goes home.

Okay? It’s gonna start on May 27th on NBC. So this isn’t some streaming show. This is gonna be on network tv and it’s gonna be. Tuesday, May 27th, we’re gonna get our first glimpse of it after the Kentucky Derby next Saturday, May 3rd on NBC. Will I watch it? I don’t know. Maybe I’ll check it out For I, I said I was gonna watch extracted and I never watched one episode, and then I look, all of a sudden I’ve got eight episodes saved in there and I think it’s over now.

So, so I, who knows if I’m gonna get around to watching this. So I wanted to end with this. It was very critical, and I’ve been critical the last couple weeks of Jack’s and his behavior on. I was gonna say Vanderpump Rules on the Valley in all last season and the first two episodes of this season, and I got an email from somebody yesterday and I, I have no problem with dissenting emails and I will address it.

So here’s what they said. I like you Steve and I listen to you every day, but I think your criticism of Jax is excessive and unjustified. I’m not saying he’s a great person, he’s not, but I think there are far worse people in reality tv. Pretty much every daily Roundup episode, you never fail to remind us, remind us of how horrible he is.

Remember, this is a reality TV show. The drama is heightened and the villain is going to be edited, probably worse than they are. Secondly, Jax is human. He has admitted his fault, and it seems like he’s trying to work on them. Is that hard to give him a little grace? You act like he’s irredeemable. As someone that has watched Vanderpump from season one, I’ve seen the ups and downs of jacks from the very beginning.

You have clearly not, he hasn’t killed anyone. Or raped anyone or anything along those lines. He makes mistakes just like you and me. Give the guy a chance to show us he can do better. Okay, no problem with the email. I don’t agree with a lot of it, and I’ll tell you why. ’cause there’s a lot of things that are just wrong in it.

First off, let’s start with this. If the bar were setting on whether or not somebody is a good person or bad person, in reality TV is, wow, at least they didn’t kill anybody or rape anybody. We’ve set the bar at an awful, awful, all time low. There probably are people in reality TV that have done one or the other.

And yes, they would be in a completely different category, but I’d say 99% of the people who have been on reality TV haven’t done that. So he’s now grouped with 99% of the people, and that’s who I’m saying. Of the 99% of the people who haven’t killed or raped anybody in reality tv. I’m saying, I think he’s one of the worst people I’ve ever seen.

So, let’s not set the bar at that to determine whether someone’s a good person or not. So there’s that. You even said he is not a great person. He’s not. There are far worse people in reality tv. I wish you would’ve named them. ’cause then I think we could have had a debate on who is and who isn’t. I, again, this is just also an opinion of yours, just as like it’s an opinion of mine.

I you saying pretty much every daily Roundup episode? No, it was the last two. But you also gotta remember, I’m covering the Valley in my podcast, so of course I’m going to talk about what was the most pertinent thing to talk about from Tuesday’s episode. It was Jackson’s behavior, not to mention. Jax has said he literally watched the first two episodes and found himself crying about the person that he saw in that episode.

So me just reacting, all I’m doing is saying, yeah, he’s reacting as seeing himself from a year ago when this was filmed, and he said he can’t, he can barely watch it. And he found himself crying in the corner at his house. And I’m saying as a viewer watching it. Yeah, I agree. ’cause you’re horrible, so to say.

Every daily Roundup episode, obviously that’s not true. I don’t think I’ve brought Jacks up since this summer when the paparazzi pictures got out of him walking around with the OnlyFans girl. And then most recently, before the season started, when Britt, when they announced that their son was Cruz was autistic.

And then when Britney was going on podcasts saying, Hey. I’m happy that he’s sober. I’d like him to stay sober for our son’s sake, but it doesn’t mean he’s treating me any better. So that’s the other thing. I know you sit here and say you act like he’s irredeemable. Maybe you’ve only listened to the last, the two podcasts earlier this week where I talked about Jax, but I said when Jax came out and said he was sober and he’s been sober for a couple months, I said, look, for his sake, I hope he is being honest.

I hope he’s true. It’s just he’s a tough guy to give the benefit of the doubt to. Of course, I would love to see him turn his life around, but when I hear Brittany in real time, his ex-wife, the one who deals with him more than you or I do, when I hear her saying in real time in interviews as they’re promoting season two saying, Jax is very good around the cameras, and he still yells at me in front of my son, it sounds like he’s not getting better and he’s still pulling the same stuff that he always did.

No, I’m not saying he’s not irredeemable. I’m just saying based on the stuff that is out there, not just what I’m watching on a TV show, which has been horrible for two episodes. So it’s not like I’m over-exaggerating what I’ve seen in the first two episodes because even the guy himself is saying, if Brittany was doing interviews saying, wow, I’ve seen a full change in Jack’s.

He’s getting a lot better. And I ha his behavior has totally changed. Yes. What you’re seeing on the valley is from a year ago, and he’s now a different person. Then I’d be like, good, this is what he needs to do. I said it a couple weeks ago when he came out and said he was sober. I said, for his sake, I hope he is.

Because for years it was the worst cast secret in the world that he was a cokehead. Everybody knew he was, but weren’t gonna accuse him of it. Until now when he came out and said, yeah, and he’s been a user for 11 or 12 years. So you’re not gonna find a lot of people in reality TV who has had as the career that he has had in reality TV who are worse than him because he recently admitted he’s been a 10 to 12 year abusing alcohol and cocaine.

Yes, there are other people in reality TV that absolutely use alcohol and cocaine, but do they have the behavior that Jack’s had? Well, I don’t think so. He’s just take, he takes it to another level. So that’s been my whole thing, is I hope he does change. The problem is, it doesn’t sound like he is based on what Brittany is saying about him and not what she’s saying about him, what he did on the show, she’s talking about here and the now, ever since.

They started promoting the show, so she’s speaking in present tense. What we’re seeing on the Valley was a year ago, which we know is bad because he, on the show, he was still a user back then. But now she’s even saying like, he still yells at me in front of my kid, our kid, and he and she has said he’s just very good when a camera is on him.

He knows the right things to say and he knows a narrative to sell. But I know the real Jax, I mean, just listen to any Britney interview now. Maybe you just side with Jax and you think Britney is a liar. I guess that’s, you have every right to think that. I tend to believe Brittany more than I believe Jax.

I can’t give this guy the benefit of the doubt when time and time again this guy has shown problematic behavior over the years. I just think he’s one of the worst guys in reality tv. You don’t, you think he’s great because he hasn’t killed or raped anybody? I, I think that’s a very, very low bar to set. I think he probably.

I wanna take that line back, but I appreciate you emailing me in. I have no problem debating this, but I, your, your opinion of him isn’t gonna change. And what you said in this email isn’t gonna change my opinion of him. And I’m not gonna change your opinion of him. You think he’s better than I do.

I, I just, I don’t have a lot of sympathy for this guy other than. I would like to see him get better because the guy that I see on television and the clips that I’ve seen from past seasons of Vanderpump Rules and the stories that I’ve read, and hell, every single cast member, you know, the other thing was the clip that I played yesterday.

Again, I didn’t wanna just say, oh, Jax is what, what a douche bag this guy is. You literally had Nia, you had Kristen, you had Brittany, you had Lala, you had all those people in that clip saying the same thing. Essentially he hasn’t changed. And yes, he has called her fat and ugly and been very rude to her in front of other people, in front of her family on text messages.

They’ve all seen it. Zach said it, Jasmine said it. That’s seven people that backed up with Bri, what Brittany said. So it’s not just, I’m just piling on Jacks. This is a universal opinion about this guy. So I would just say. I’m not saying cancel him or whatever, but I am saying he needs to show some improvement and it looks like we’re not gonna see it on season two.

’cause season two, he was using the whole time. We need to see it or hear it from people that are in that circle that are still hanging around with him to this day and it just doesn’t seem like we’re gonna get that. Anyway, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts.
