Daily Roundup 6/27 – Yesterday’s BIP Spoilers, the Golden Bachelor Story Getting National Recognition, Alex Cooper vs the BU Soccer Program, & The Valley EP Speaks on Jax

So remember when the Alex Cooper documentary came out and she spoke out against her former soccer coach at Boston University from 20 years ago?

Nancy Feldman, who she said sexually harassed her. We had another person that came out who said Nancy Feldman sexually harassed her. She put it on her TikTok. Alex Cooper reposted it on her own Instagram. Well. The person who was the assistant coach under Nancy Feldman when Alex Cooper was there, was a woman by the name of Casey Brown.

Well, we just found out yesterday after a report by the Boston Globe or Wednesday, a report in the Boston Globe said Casey Brown, who was Nancy Feldman’s successor, she was placed on administrative leave midway through this past season, the 20 24, 20 25 season, and formally resigned in December. Because her resignation ended up coming after Boston University commissioned an investigation into complaints from 18 players.

So yeah, it was still going on, and that’s why Alex Cooper said that in her Instagram stories, after her documentary came out, she said, look, numerous players have reached out to me. This is a systematic problem. It’s still going on at Boston University. I’m gonna do everything in my power to bring it to light.

But we just found out. I mean, I guess obviously as a nation, we found out people in the Boston University community and the Boston area probably knew about this, that Casey Brown resigned in December of 2024. But what happened was a current team member, Shayla Brown, who’s not related to Casey Brown, she contacted the.

Ethics hotline at the school said the coach was behaving inappropriately towards one of her teammates, not her, and focusing excessively on her and trying to manipulate her in ways that were distressing to the player and her teammates. They reported the allegations to the team sports psychologist, saying the unnamed player was being groomed.

Shayla Brown and 17 of her teammates reported the allegations to Boston University’s Equal Opportunity Office the next day, and the player who was being groomed. Quote unquote, shared their experience as well. She said the, she told the Boston Globe, who’s doing the investigation that Casey Brown, the coach, fawn over her over a two year span, sending her a stream of awkward texts, unsettling invitations, and unwanted attention.

Of course, Casey Brown strongly denied the allegations and they’ve reached out to Boston University for comment. Well, in the Boston University. In this Boston Globe investigation, the woman who was questioned, who was being harassed said one of the times, the head coach, Casey Brown, sent her a video of her competing in a game.

The video featured her passing, moving and shooting nothing outta the ordinary with brown narrating over the footage. However, to her shock she said. Brown made moaning sounds during her commentary, basically giving her clips of her own play on the field and masturbating to it. Alex Cooper put this on her Instagram story yesterday and even included this statement After all these women coming forward.

Boston University stands by their statement. At the conclusion of the investigation, there were no BU policy violations and no evidence of sexual harassment. What I, and apparently the athletic director is still in place at Boston University, something that has Alex fuming as well. This. You know, Alex Cooper being as powerful as she is, could have literally been the biggest donor in Boston University history.

And by doing this and by turning a blind eye to her 20 years ago, and by basically seemingly not doing much since this documentary came out, as the athletic director still has a job. They are going to be taken down by her. It is, it is kind of weird to think that a podcaster could absolutely ruin an athletic department, but if there’s one person in the world right now that could do it, it’s Alex Cooper ruining the Boston University Athletic Department.

I think it’s happening. And finally, executive producer Alex Baskin, he’s the EP for. Van not Vanderpump Rules. Well, he was for Vanderpump Rules, but also the Valley. He did a, an article and with Variety and was basically asked about Jack’s behavior this year and was basically questioned on are you enabling him by allowing him to continue on this show?

Are you enabling Jax Taylor? And he said, no one is guaranteed a job indefinitely many times before. We’ve had to make a change based on someone’s behavior, but seeking help is the opposite of that. Seeking help is obviously what we completely support, he said.

According to, you know, the accusation being put against him, that putting Taylor on television means they are platforming an abuser. Alex Baskin said this, our job is to tell the full story. If we didn’t tell the story in its completeness, then we would be covering up something that really happened and denying Brittany the chance to share what she had been through.

I don’t think that’s really platforming an abuser as much as that is platforming the story. Which includes Britney’s experience as well as J’s.

Here’s my response to that. Two things can be true at the same time. Yeah, you are platforming the story, but while you are platforming the story, you’re also platforming an abuser. How does he not see this? What am I missing here? Of course you’re platforming jacks ’cause you’re keeping them on the show.

You’re allowing people to see this behavior. Well, we gotta show the whole story. We gotta be true. You know what you hold? You know what? You show the whole story to a fight at a bar, an argument at a bar. Someone throws a drink on somebody else. You show the whole story, you show the context behind it. This with Jackson, Brittany to me crossing the line.

Yes, you’re platforming the story, but you’re also platforming Jack’s the abuser. I’m shocked that he doesn’t see this. Seems like a smart guy. I don’t get it. And then when asked about season three would look like, he said, we don’t wanna be in a situation where we are forcing people together who wouldn’t spend the time together in real life, that can become taxing and difficult to watch.

But at this point, I don’t know what form that will take going forward. So I guess there’s still a possibility that Jax doesn’t come back for season three personally. I think a lot of people think this way, he shouldn’t, but it’s, it doesn’t look like they’ve completely not ruled that out. So maybe he doesn’t come back for season three, but just to give the quote that he did and saying, no, we’re not platforming the abuser.

We’re platforming the story so you can see it all play out. This is real. Yeah, it is real, but it’s also very abusive and people that have been in abusive relationships are watching this getting triggered saying, why do we need to watch this guy? I had an ex just like that and now I’m triggered watching this show when he doesn’t need to be on the show.

So I guess we’ll find out. I think what the finale’s in a couple weeks, two or three episodes left this season. I don’t even know how many episodes of the the Valley there are. There’s been 11 so far. We know they have to wrap up in Hawaii. I’m sure the season ends in Hawaii. There’s probably two episodes at the most, three.

In terms of just what happened on the season, then we know we’ve got a reunion show that’s probably at least one or two episodes long. Either way. This season of the Valley that we’re watching was filmed last July and August. So if they are going to pick up and shoot a season three, my guess is they’re shooting it soon, start shooting it next month.

So they have to make a decision on what they’re doing with Jax and it, it seems like this guy. Doesn’t seem to get it and is going to allow Jax to be on season three, but there’s still time. Maybe he changes his mind or he hears enough dissent online that he’s like, I just, I can’t do it. We can tell a story with Brittany and her new boyfriend doesn’t have to be giving Jax any airtime.

But we’ll see. Thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also rate and review, but you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts as a download. Sports Daily coming up in an hour for now, if you wanna check that out. Again, thank you all for listening. Have a great weekend everybody, and I’ll talk to you on Monday.
