Daily Roundup 7/7 – BIP’s 3 Hr Premiere Tonight, Update on Some Late Season Info, Mel Owens’ Ex-Wife Speaks On Him Being the “Golden Bachelor,” & Some Big Brother Contestants Leaked

This is also Premier Week for Big Brother. First episode is on Thursday, although filming will start tomorrow and the first night is not live anymore. So what we see on Thursday is what’s being filmed Tuesday and Wednesday, and that’s the move in over the weekend.

CBS ran a promo showing five of the contestants, but they didn’t say their names. It was basically all saying one sentence and each of them said one part of the sentence, which was basically Tune in this Thursday for the Premier of Season 27. Uh, big Brother. Something along those lines. Well, within 15 minutes, uh, the BB fandom found all five people.

Now, by the time you’re listening to this, it is very possible that the Big Brother cast has already been released. ’cause I expect it to be released today, tomorrow, at the latest, since that’s when filming begins. But these people have been sequestered for the last seven or 10 days anyway, the five that they showed.

On tv, and these names won’t mean anything to you, but you can go look at their Instagrams if you want. Vince Panero, Catherine Woodman, Ashley Hollis, Zach Cornell and Isaiah Frederick. Isaiah Frederick is a cheerleader, a male cheerleader at BYU. Zach Cornell is a former baseball player. Ashley Hollis, I believe is a lawyer.

Or is in law school. Uh, Catherine Woodman is a public relations major at University of South Carolina, and Vince Panero is from Colorado. That’s all it says. Says, uh, occupation, former baseball player. Fun facts, visited Iceland, and he’s from Colorado. But like I said, I think there’s a good chance the cast is being released today, and you’re probably gonna see all of them.

Now. We don’t know who the. Mystery house guest is. We will find that out. I think there was something going online over the weekend where former contestants wanted you to think it was somebody else. I know Janelle was really hyping up the fact that. Rachel Riley’s cameo was shut down. She texted Rachel 10 times and called her 10 times, and Rachel never responded to her.

She’s like, oh my gosh, I can’t believe Rachel wouldn’t tell me. I think it’s her. I think it’s her. And then Rachel posted a 4th of July video with her family. I don’t think it’s anybody from the Big Brother family. I really don’t. I think it’s somebody that is very popular in reality tv, uh, and probably in the CBS.

Paramount World. Maybe it’s someone from the Challenge. Maybe it’s someone from the Amazing Race. I don’t know. I don’t think it’s someone from Big Brother, but yeah. Anyway, that’s where we’ll find out on Thursday who it is. The other thing with this being the 25 year anniversary of Big Brother, they asked Julie Chen Moonves her top 25 moments in show history.

And she ranked them, and this was on Entertainment Weekly. And I found this interesting because as you know, I only started watching Big Brother on season 21. So I’ve only seen the seven Seasons of season 21 to 26, and then I’ve seen all three celebrity seasons and that’s it. Those are the only ones I’ve ever seen.

I’ve not gone back and watched other ones. I’m not gonna go back and watch 50 episode seasons of something that aired 10 years ago. It’s just not gonna happen, but. By reading a few of Julie’s top 25 moments, I learned something. You know, what she had at her as her number one moment in show history that season two changed the game entirely.

Big Brother went from America voting out the house, guests to the housemates, voting out their own with weekly competitions. Wait a second. So season one of Big Brother, everyone that was voted out was voted out by America. I I had no idea about that. Number two, she had as the cookout, which to me, obviously as somebody who has only started watching since season 21, when I saw that happen in season 23, I was like, this is one of the biggest alliances, probably the most important alliance we’ve ever had in reality show history, especially for a show that just didn’t really cater to African American contestants.

It just didn’t. For the longest time it was a white show. And to see them get together, I believe it was all on day two and make a pact that they were gonna stick together. And then they, and then they held through to that plan and they all got themselves to the final six. And then it played out the way it did.

I mean, I, I said, at the time I was like, this is. One of the greatest alliances I’ve ever seen in reality show history, if not the greatest Alliance. So those were her first two. Uh, there were other ones on here that I’ve heard about through the years. Uh, Dan’s funeral, she had Taylor winning season 24, uh, as number six because she was the first black female to win the game in a normal season.

Tamar Braxton won celebrity season two last year. Angela, going crazy on Matt. She had that as number seven. Janelle’s Competition, dominance. Secret Siblings, uh, Dr. Will hates everybody. Season six, battle of Alliances. Again, no idea what that is. Uh, family drama between Dick and Danielle in season eight.

Okay. These are all things I don’t know. One thing that I did notice, the season 21 that I watched. None of nothing that happened in Season 21 made the top 25. And you ask any batch, uh, bachelor Big Brother historian about season 21 and they’re basically trying to erase it from existence. Pretend it never happened because there were so many problematic people and problematic things that happened on that season, but.

Season starts Thursday. I’m excited. You know, as corny as I think this show is, I definitely get into it. I haven’t decided yet. It’s a, it’s a play it by ear thing with me on whether or not I’m, I’m definitely not gonna watch the live feeds. I, I’ve, I never really go into that, but am I gonna read the reports on what’s happening on the live feeds?

Like I said, it’s hit and miss for me some weeks. I want to know who wins head of household, and I want to know who wins. Power veto and some weeks I don’t, so I just never know. But anyway, I will, when I’m talking about this show, when I’m recapping it, I will always give you a heads up like, Hey. If you don’t wanna know who won head of household, if you don’t wanna know one who know, if you don’t want to know who won Power of Veto, then mute the podcast.

I will never just openly just give it to you without giving you a warning. ’cause I know some of you don’t want to know and you just watch what’s on CBS on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Me, sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. But I am interested sometimes in following what’s going on in the house, what alliances are forming, stuff like that when I just follow Twitter accounts that stay up until the wee hours of the morning and literally report every single thing that is happening on the live feeds.

Live feeds. Start on Sunday, by the way, show starts airing Thursday live feeds. I believe start on Sunday. Anyway, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also rate and review, but you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts is to download Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now, so go check that out.

Again, thanks for listening. I really appreciate it. Enjoy your three hours of Bachelor in Paradise Tonight. Now, we’ll talk to you tomorrow.
