There are some things about last night’s show that I really liked, but they’re, they’re probably minor to PE to, to some of you that are listening right now, you might just be like, you liked that.
Like that wasn’t really, I didn’t really notice it or that wasn’t a big deal, but to me. I think having the cryon the Chiron be bigger. I think it was cool. The Chiron is where their names are on the screen for nine seasons. What did we see? Small name at the bottom. Every time they had a Chiron of somebody talking giant letters, it said Spencer or Jess or Jeremy or Bailey.
I just liked that. I thought it, it, it made it, it made these people seem important. While some of them might not seem important to you, the show is at least trying to make them important. So I liked the Chiron being, being giant. Thought that was a, I thought that was a nice touch. I, I liked the fact that they addressed the bullying that Kat received back on season nine, two summers ago.
Showing some of the messages she was getting on social media that were attacking her for the things that she said and did on that show. And then I liked the fact that Kat literally pointed out five different things that happened to her, and she did last time, almost making a joke of it and almost saying like, look, I know what I did last time, but those were the good things.
About last night’s episode. I don’t wanna say this is necessarily bad about last night’s episode, but to me it was just kind of average. I understand you. You know, you were notified that they’re doing challenges this season, little exercises and challenges, but they didn’t lead to anything. Nobody got any sort of advantage by winning the challenge last night, which was, you know, putting your face on a compatibility test.
I understand. You know, they’re trying stuff out. I get it. Not everything is gonna be a hit. I thought last night’s challenge was very claim tofa, which is where Scott Teddy came from, or one of the shows that he did. I dunno, it just seemed like a silly exercise to do. I just think it would’ve been better or more important if whoever got the most hearts on theirs got a date card, something along those lines.
But to just have it to see, I, I, I don’t think that showed any sort of, Ooh, you’re compatible with this person because you put a heart on theirs. Not really. Some of those statements were just like, okay, like I, I really felt they slanted towards like, look who got the least amount of likes, Hakeem and Ricky, two guys that ended up getting eliminated last night.
Oh, and what a surprise. Jess left hearts on Spencer and Sam’s great. You know what I’m saying? Like it just. Credit for trying something new. That one kind of fell flat for me. There’s probably gonna be other ones this season that I actually like. That one was just, I didn’t hate it. I just thought, well, let’s up.
The stakes on this, whoever gets the most hearts on their little silhouette gets a day card. You know, Sam came in right after that because people were wondering, well, who’s that silhouette? And it ended up being Sam. But as you know on this show, when you arrive on the beach, you arrive with a date card and you get to take somebody out.
So that’s why Sam and Dale had date cards, and they at least tried to do the first date of the season and give the card to Jonathan, but their date got canceled because of rain. And then their date wasn’t really like, oh, we’re making it up for this date. Jonathan just pulled Lexi aside later. And had a table and a mini picnic set up.
So it’s not like he really got to redo that date. At least that’s not the way I looked at it. I looked at it as he just said, Hey, we got rained out the other night. Let’s go over here and let’s have a little picnic. ’cause that wasn’t, you know, look at, look at the two dates to compare it to Dave. Got to take Dave, Dave Neil was on the show last night.
Dale got to take Kat out on a yacht. Or Catamaran. I know they’re two different things. We gotta take her out on some sort of boat. And Jess and Sam got to go to some ritual, so, yeah, I, I don’t think that his date, Jonathan, taking Lex out. Lexi. Was it Lex or Lexi? God, I’m already blanking. I think it’s Lexi.
He would’ve gotten a date with her, but they got rained out. But that makeup date I don’t think was, Hey, the show is now letting you do your makeup date. I think it was just Jonathan taking the initiative and saying, ’cause they didn’t do anything. They sat and talked and I think had some lunch. Right.
As for the bad. I don’t think there was anything really bad about last night’s episode. Oh yeah. There was one thing bad about last night’s episode. It was three hours and next Monday’s three hours. I don’t understand that. We don’t need three hours of this show. You know, we were 30 minutes in and they had finally gotten everybody down to the beach.
That’s a long time for 16 people. And I understand they took last summer off. They have to reintroduce these people to us. Some of them, they showed clips from the seasons that they were on so they could refresh your memory. I get it. They did that on the other Paradise. But I think the entrance of this where, you know, getting out of an SUV as it pulls up to the front of the hotel.
The Slowmo, a lot of Slowmo last night. Something that I don’t think, did they ever do a Slowmo in any previous season in nine seasons? I don’t think so. So the Slowmo getting out the slow walk, I mean, this is what reality shows do now. So, and maybe some people hate it. Maybe some people hate the new look of the show.
I think it improves it. Doesn’t mean the show is that much better, it just means it looks better visually. So I’m, I’m all for the changing of the look of the show in terms of like, I don’t, I don’t really care about the location. I’m talking about how it was shot with the cameras that they use, the portfo, the.
Portfolio lens shots. There’s the, the amount of drone shots we saw, the amount of slow mos we saw. This is what we see on the other dating shows, the popular ones, the love islands. You know, they’re in the middle of a challenge and people are, are laughing or, and it’s just being shown in slow motion.
Survivor does it all the time with their slow motion. They kind of did that recently. They’ve they’ve not always done slow motion shots. The slow motion we saw shots we see in Survivor are usually in the open. When they’re showing us the 18 or 20 contestants that are competing and showing us the tribes.
So maybe some people don’t like it. Me personally, I do. But is that gonna be enough to make it a, wow, this is a really good show. We don’t know. Now the one thing that they showed in the preview for the rest of the season. Is they did show us a bag of money and Jesse Palmer saying $500,000. Now I went back and watched it because I was like, did he explain how the 500 was going to be announced in this game?
And they got a little tricky with the editing because what he said is, we see him verbally say, your fate is going to be determined tonight. And then they show a shot of a suitcase that has $500,000 in it. And he says. Half a million dollars. But all we saw was all we got was the audio of him saying that.
And then we have a clip of Jesse saying, or is it love? So the preview is making you think that the final couple has to choose, are we going to stay together or are we going to choose $500,000? But again, what would that mean? We’re gonna split $250,000 and then not be together is one of us going to choose Money over Love, which would basically be the plot of Bachelor Pad where the final couple would say, keep or share.
I don’t think they’re gonna do that because that’s a copy. We’ve already seen that done on this franchise before, so I don’t think it’s that. And I do think there is an engagement this season. So if they tell them, let’s say, you know, you know, I think the final couple is, is Spencer and Jess. I, I, I just, from everything I’ve heard, it’s them.
So are they given the option, you can either get engaged or you can split $500,000, but then you would have to break up, like, I, I, I think obviously I, I’ll, I’ll find out at some point this season and let you know, but I, I, I don’t think it’s, you have to choose money or you have to choose love. There’s no way.
That’s it. I think, well, I don’t really know. That was the first time. I mean, I knew it was a, I knew it was gonna be a bigger amount than Love Island, but now $500,000 is involved. And maybe it’s possible that they say that Spencer and Jess do choose love. There is an engagement and then they get the money Anyway, I don’t know, but it’s something along those lines because this show isn’t gonna end with a bachelor pad three ending where Nick Peterson took the money from Rachel True heart, it took all the money for himself.
It’s not, that’s not happening on this show. They want a happy ending, and that wasn’t a happy ending on Bachelor Pad three. So I think it’s possible. That Spencer and Jess get engaged on this show and also walk away with some sort of monetary prize. Maybe it is splitting the 500,000. Maybe they do both.
Maybe they get both. But I How they get to both that, I don’t know, like the voting, like I think there is some sort of voting off. I also think the winning quote, unquote winning couple is voted on. The other couples choose the winning couple. So by winning, they’re chosen and they win the money. And then after they win the money, maybe that’s when, oh by the way, he’s gonna pop the question to her.
Like they really are setting it up. I mean, Spencer’s, in episode one was talking about wanting a wife, wanting to be engaged, wanting to find the mother of his children, like it’s. Like I said in the spoilers, if anybody gets engaged this season, it’s them. All. The other couples I know are just dating, at least at the, at, when they left filming, they were dating.
I don’t know the status of all of them other than I know Jonathan and Leah are just friends, but the other five couples just dating. And then maybe tomorrow I’ll look, I’ll, I’ll look into the, I didn’t, I, I wasn’t paying too much attention to the. Three minute trailer at the end of the episode. But there were some things in there that I, I do had heard about and now it was confirmed by that trailer.
So I will dive into that tomorrow. As for my website today, I don’t know if any sort of recap of what I just verbally told you is gonna be up in written form today. I just, I just don’t know. And going forward. I might not have anything written in this season of Bathroom Paradise. Unfortunately. I thought I was and I just was like, I have to start prioritizing what’s the audience wants.
And I understand Some of you have been reading me for years and I understand some of you just don’t care about podcasts and you want to read it, but you’re reading it might just be what I’ve been putting up there. For the last like year, which is transcripts of my podcast, it’s like I’m doing a transcript of my podcast, and then I have to also write a column where my column is basically a written version of what I said in the podcast.
So why do a transcript from my podcast? I, I just have to prioritize things. Now when it comes to this. What I know the audience reads versus listens to, and I’m sorry, but 95% of 90 to 95% of my income now is off podcasts. People just don’t read as much anymore, so it’s, it’s gonna be hit or miss when bachelor rolls around.
I will be writing about that. But Bachelor Paradise three hour episode. Don’t know if I’m really interested in writing about this. I’ve given my thoughts. You’re definitely gonna hear my thoughts for 20 minutes, 25 minutes the next day. It just seems counterproductive to then put those in words when there is a transcript of my podcast on my site on Tuesdays.
So we’ll just kind of take it from there. We’re gonna play it by ear. Probably not anything going up today on the website other than the transcript of this particular podcast. Anyway, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcast. Also, rate and review, but you gotta hit play.
It’s the only way it counts as a download Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now, so go check that out. Again, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Transcript will be on the website today. Now. We’ll talk to you tomorrow.
See you.
