Let’s talk about the Valley last night. They basically wrapped things up in Maui on this Maui trip.
How many episodes we have left this season? I can’t imagine many more. But anyway, you knew there was gonna be drama. We saw it in the previews at the end of last week’s episode. We saw it in the previews leading up in tonight’s. We knew that although Janet did the right thing last week, where her and Jason decided, you know what?
We’re gonna sit out. Kristen arriving and meeting all of her friends after getting engaged on the yacht. We’re not close with them. She doesn’t need to see my face when she walks in a room. Probably the best decision Janet made all season. However, we knew there was gonna be an absolute blowup happening on last night’s episode, and that’s exactly what we got.
But before we get to that blowup, let’s talk about a couple other things that happened in the episode. I’m glad Brittany is taking responsibility for being an idiot and telling Jax of all people about Luke and Kristen’s engagement. How in the world did she think that was gonna go? You saw the episode, clearly Zach’s telling her, what the hell are you doing?
Kristen’s telling her, why are you telling Jax this? It’s all over the guy’s group chat. Now I haven’t even been able to tell my parents and some of my close family members, and Jax knows now. Great. So at least Brittany said, yeah, my bad. She should have known you’re literally married to Jax Taylor. What did you think was gonna happen when you told him that Kristen Doty got engaged?
You think he was gonna keep that to himself? Probably not. I thought it was interesting in last night’s episode when Brittany went to go talk to Kristin on the blanket and apologized to her for telling Jax. Then they got around to talking about Janet and for the first time, while this show was filming back last July and August, for the first time, we hear them talking about Janet’s fandom and how she became part of this group.
And Kristen is the one that bring it up to Brittany and said, it is kind of creepy. I don’t, I mean. Whether or not you want to use the word creepy, there’s something definitely odd about it. Like there’s nothing wrong with Janet Karna being a fan of Vanderpump Rules, but it really does seem like this was a goal of hers to get on this show and befriend these people.
In terms of the move from Ohio and where she was in her relationship with her ex-husband at that point, that stuff, I don’t know the details on. You know, the rumor is that she told her ex-husband, I’m moving to la Gimme one year. I’m gonna try and get on that show and if I don’t, I’ll move back home. And she did end up becoming friends with him and then she dumped her husband.
But I could be wrong on the dates on that, but let’s just say, let’s just leave an ex-husband out of all this because we don’t know the details. Exact details. I mean, if those details are true, I, I think you can start using the word creepy and shitty because it seems like once she got in with this group, she just dumped her husband.
Now she could say, oh, it was because of this reason and this reason. You have no idea about our marriage. I, I’m just saying that it doesn’t look good. The optics aren’t very great, but take that outta the equation. Just coming to LA and trying to smooth with these people. In hopes to befriend them and possibly get on Vanderpump rules.
I, I don’t know. There’s just something off about that to me. I just doesn’t sit. Well, Michelle, talking about Jesse. Hey, when we first met, he had a one bedroom apartment. He didn’t have any money. I’d go over there, he’d be all romantic, he’d make me dinner. But then he started making money and he became a douche bag and then she called him Captain Douche bag, which is actually a funny name, but I don’t know if you saw it.
Jesse was on, watch What Happens Live last night, and Andy asked him about it and he said, I kind of think I’ve always been douchey. So, ’cause he, Andy Flat out asked him, what do you think about Michelle calling you Captain douche bag and saying, you used to be romantic and then you became a douche bag.
He’s like. Actually, I think I’ve always been kind of douchey, so little more self-awareness from Jesse and then finally the Janet Kristin fight. Again, there’s so much editing in that conversation that I don’t know, I never know what to believe and what someone’s reaction was to what something was said about.
Janet throwing the essay phrase out there and seemingly not really realizing how heavy those words are, makes her look very ignorant. And Kristen and Danny and Nia had every right to get mad at her for that. I just, these two clearly aren’t gonna get along, but I almost feel like. In season three, at some point Janet and Kristen are going to be friends.
’cause that’s the way these shows work. Two people that you never thought could even talk to each other, all of a sudden, a following season or maybe a subsequent season, you’re just gonna be like, whoa, serious. You know? Kind of like in the beginning of this season, it was so awkward when Michelle and Aaron were around Jesse and then all of a sudden, by the end of the season, Jesse and Aaron are hanging out and having conversations in Maui.
And are a lot closer now to where they can actually speak to each other. And Jesse said on watch What Happens Live last night, I don’t believe he physically cheated yet in the confessionals on the valley, he has said, I do think my wife cheated on me with him. So obviously he’s had a change of heart since then.
It’s just this fight with Janet and Kristen. Janet’s just losing in every single aspect. She’s not handling things well. She doesn’t know how to argue, and she’s kind of not very self-aware of how she comes across and the things that she says. It, it is just all those others were right. Danny, Nia, Kristen and Luke, Zach as well.
Right, and Janet and Jason were wrong in that argument, but I’m thoroughly convinced probably sometime next season, not that they’re gonna be BFFs. Luke and Kristen are never gonna be BFFs with Jason and Janet, but I guarantee that relationship gets mended because then you’re dealing with a situation like you were.
I understand it’s not nearly as bad as Ariana and Sandoval. Them not wanting to, Ariana, not wanting to even shoot with them, but these groups all have parties at each other’s houses, or they go to events together. If everybody hates Janet and Jason, what’s the point of them being on the show? So either you kick Janet and Jason off the show, which I don’t think they’re going to do, or they’re gonna set up a storyline next season where they make amends and they’re not at each other’s throats.
Hell, they tried it earlier this season. Jason and Danny pretty much made up. Jason apologized for saying the things that he did. Danny said, I’ll control my drinking. I gotta watch what I say. It’s really Janet and Kristen that can’t get along, so we’ll see what happens next season. I don’t think they’re gonna make up by the end of this season, even though I have no idea how many episodes are left this season.
I just think, yeah, it’s probably coming. It. It’s probably coming at some point next season where I, there’s gonna be some conversation where the two of them are sitting down and one of them will say to the other one, I can just see it right now and visualize this on my vision board. Even though I don’t have a vision board, I can visualize at some point during season three of the valley, Kristen and Janet will be having a conversation and one of them will make a statement to the other one saying something along the lines of.
I can’t believe we’re actually talking about this. I can’t believe we’re friends. Did we just become best friends? You know, making a a stepbrothers joke, something along those lines is gonna happen in season three. ’cause that’s the way these shows work. You know what, I’m gonna get to Big Brother tomorrow since that’s going to be leading into the premier tomorrow night, so I will do that tomorrow.
Since this podcast is running a little long and I’ve got a few things to say about the cast. Anyway, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts.
