It is Wednesday. It is August 27th and it is the day after Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey got engaged. Holy crap.
I’ve got some thoughts. Or a hundred. No, I honestly don’t have too many thoughts, but we’ll, we’ll discuss it briefly and then I wanna play a reel that Jason Tarek posted yesterday. ’cause I thought this was really interesting. It just, it talks about. What that engagement did worldwide to the content creation world.
We’re gonna talk about Big Brother a little bit, what’s been going on in the house since the Renno of Katherine yesterday, because there is some major drama yet again going on. We have a new contestant allegedly on Dancing With the Stars, and I am gonna read that Laura Owens email, email about Laura Owens that Dave has shared on his YouTube channel.
And I wanna read it to you for those that haven’t heard it. So let’s get started. Alright. It’s official Travis and Taylor sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes little Kelsey in the baby carriage. So there’s no way she changes her name, right? Like. There’s no way she’s gonna be Taylor Kelsey, right?
There’s no way. I don’t even think she’ll hyphenate it. I don’t think she’s gonna go to Taylor Swift Kelsey. I’d be kind of surprised at that. She could do what she wants with her name. I don’t care. I just can’t see anyway that she changes her name. But we’re gonna start finding out more details about this.
Like the things that I want to know are, when did this engagement happen at the time of this recording? I haven’t read anything that said when they got engaged at the time of this recording. I haven’t, I don’t know if they’ve already said or it’s been out there that when she did the podcast, when they recorded the New Heights podcast, had they been engaged already.
So those are the kind of things I wanna know. If you thought the royal wedding was something that was watched by millions, my gosh. Not that these two are gonna televise their wedding ’cause they’re not. But the amount of coverage that this wedding is gonna get, hell, how did these people, well I know how, but did you see literally minutes after the engagement?
The entertainment sites are running stories about her ring. And look, it looks like some people are off because I saw Radar online post a story saying the ring was $600,000. And then I saw something on US Weekly that said that ring was between $950,000 and 1.2 million, whatever. I know nothing about rings.
Said, I think I read seven to 10 carats or something like that. So again, the fact that they had that ready to go. Right away makes me think that, you know, this was clearly done in conjunction with the entertainment sites, but regardless of all that, yeah, I can, I can readily admit I have no problem admitting when I’m wrong.
I do it all the time. I was wrong on this one. It really was. You could say, well, technically they haven’t walked down the aisle, Steve. They haven’t gotten married. You know, I’d be stunned if something happened at this point. I watched I, I mean, I needed the convincing of that podcast, but when I saw her do two and a half hours with him, it officially hit me that, okay, this is more serious than some sort of PR relationship.
I understand. Yes, there are celebrities, there are athletes that get married strictly for PR purposes, and there are people out there that will probably still think that this is just a PR marriage. I’m not in that camp anymore. I’m really not. I’m happy for her. It seems like he has changed and these two kindred spirits have found each other, so I’m happy for them, but it just turns into, okay, now what hap what’s next?
What about all these rumors? In regards to a possible tour or a possible residency in Vegas, I just, I don’t know. I do not know the halftime show. Is she doing it? Is she not? Well, no. In about a month, but nothing’s off the table anymore ’cause these two are clearly legit. They will get married. Obviously it’s not gonna be anytime before next summer.
I mean, I guess they could do it after the season in March, but that seems like all your planning for the wedding would happen during football season. I don’t think Travis wants that on his mind. Football season ends either in January or February for him. After that, they can plan it. I I, I could see them getting married next summer.
You get engaged and then you, you, you get married a year later, like I could totally see it next summer, around this time next summer, July or August of next year. I mean, obviously they have to plan it around Travis’s football schedule, but then again, Travis might retire after this season, so it might not matter and they might not have to take his football schedule into account for anything.
But yeah, if you would’ve told me two years ago. That these two were gonna be end game and they were gonna get engaged, I would’ve said, you’re absolutely crazy. It’s a fun little fling. He’s popular. She’s popular, but they have proven me wrong and good for them. I wanted to play this. Jason Tarek posted this on his podcast yesterday and or not his podcast, on his Instagram feed yesterday, and I just thought it was really interesting.
Because it talks about the effect that this engagement announcement yesterday had on the advertising world. So I just, it’s pretty self-explanatory. I’ll let you listen to it.
Taylor Swift actually just broke the internet. I own a talent management company where we do hundreds of paid activations every single month with the largest companies in the world.
And today we have gotten email, after email, after email saying, because of Taylor Swift’s engagement, all posts that are supposed to go out today that are paid activations. All delayed because it’s taken literally the internet by storm and they’re afraid they won’t see the natural return that they would typically for any other day.
She broke the internet.
Yeah, so I, I’ve never really done a paid activation post that’s more for the influencers, but essentially what he’s saying is all the people that are under the rewired talent brand. You see when a influencer posts something and they tag it, you know, with the brand name and the 20% off, 50% off, whatever the deal is they’re getting.
Basically, all those people that had stuff that needed to be posted today or yesterday as you’re listening to this, are being told yesterday, they were just told, you know what? Don’t even bother if you had something that was supposed to be posted. Don’t even bother because nobody cares because what Taylor Swift announced today has everybody talking about that.
So your engagement is gonna be way, way lower. No need to even do it. So there you go. Taylor Swift again breaks the internet. For me in the mornings, got a lot of work to get to, making sure the podcasts are posted, getting them out on my socials, checking the news, responding to emails. It can get a little hectic sometimes, which in turn makes me forget breakfast on occasion, and I’m someone that loves breakfast, but more importantly, I’ve been trying to get as much protein in a day as I can.
