Dancing with the Stars week two last night. We had a double elimination last night. I guess we can’t really be too shocked at who got eliminated. Sure. I think a lot of people thought maybe Andy Richter, who’s clearly not the best dancer and probably the worst dancer on the show, but you know, he smiles, he’s lovable, he’s chubby.
There you go. People want to keep him on the show, but we clearly know he’s not gonna win. And they eliminated Cory Feldman and they eliminated Baron Davis. Can’t say I’m really surprised by either of them. They both tried. Well, I know Baron tried. There were reports that after the cast was announced on Good Morning America, that Corey Feldman never saw Jenna Johnson for the next week.
She even said it in the interview, she goes, I haven’t been able to get ahold of him. So I don’t know if Corey just didn’t take it seriously or he had prior engagements. But if he had prior engagements, why sign up for the show? Yeah, it could have just been for the flat out money. Who knows? Maybe he needs money.
I don’t know, but I, I didn’t get the impression that this is something that Corey really put a lot of his heart into. Whereas I do get that impression from Baron now, Corey, eh, I don’t know. Just didn’t get that impression. And look, there are plenty of people who have been on Dance with the Stars over the years that you could tell.
Didn’t try as hard as some other people. Probably the ones that knew they couldn’t win, but there are other ones that knew they probably couldn’t win, but just enjoyed the process and wanted to push themselves to do something that made them uncomfortable. I just didn’t get that impression from Corey.
Maybe that’s just me. Carrie Ann was back last night. I don’t really understand why they only had two judges give their thoughts on each dancer, and a third judge had to give one word, thought that was ridiculously stupid. What’s the point of having three judges if only one of them can give a one word answer?
I understand it’s a two hour show. They have time constraints, but maybe you just let all three judges go for 10 seconds or 15 seconds. I don’t know. I, I, I guess they wanted to try something up. What I am excited about is some of the themes. This year. We get a what was the one at the end Prince? We get a prince theme this year.
We get a 20 year reunion theme. We get a. Not 20 year reunion, 20 years on the air, like a celebration theme. There are some other ones, but of course the one I’m probably looking forward to the most, since you know how I got into it last year, last November. We’re gonna have a wicked theme this year, and remember last year when I told you I got into Wicked and I saw it three times and then I bought it when it came out on streaming.
And I told you I saw it at Pantages, like, I don’t know, two years after it came out, but I didn’t remember any of it. So when I saw part one, I was like, do I look at the spoilers for part two or just wait till next year? I’ll tell you right now, I have not looked at the spoilers. I do not know what happens in part two.
I don’t wanna know what happens in part two. But I will be there on the first day. It opens in November and I’m very much looking forward to it because I have some questions. Trust me, I’ve got questions. And by the way, wizard of Oz was on a MC this past weekend and I watched it and I sat there and recited the whole movie.
But yeah, I do have questions about out. I understand that. The guy who wrote Wicked basically took liberties with the original story. It had nothing to do with Wizard of Oz. He was able to create his own story, but in turn, it seems like he changed things about the cannon of Wizard of Oz. But I’ll get my answers in two months.
Don’t tell me. I will certainly. Let you know the second after I watched that, my review of Wicked, you already know what I thought about part one. I knew Ariana Grande was gonna get nominated for Best Supporting Actress. I knew Cynthia, Cynthia Arrivo was gonna be nominated for Best Actress. I thought they both should have won.
I thought John Chu should have won for Best Director. Like I’m biased of course, ’cause it was probably the only movie I saw that was up for Best Picture and the only movie I saw that had any best actress and best supporting actress in it. I just thought they were all so great. They should have won and none of ’em won.
Maybe they’ll win for part two. Who knows? Or what are they calling it for? Good? Not calling it part two. They’re calling it Wicked For Good and no, I haven’t even bothered to listen. I haven’t even listened to for Good the song. But everybody says if there’s one song from the Wicked soundtrack, that is the best one.
Personally, I don’t know how it’s gonna surpass defying gravity, but people say for good is better. I’ll be the judge of that. I’ll let you know. Update in the Big brother world. So when I recorded yesterday, that was right around the time that the feeds came back. So that’s why I didn’t talk about it. I said, look, I don’t know what’s going on with the Keanu.
Whatever spoilers are coming in, three, two, and one for tonight’s episode and what’s happening on tomorrow night. So. Morgan won Power of Veto and Keanu was evicted, this unique eviction. I tried to read about it and I couldn’t really tell based on the conversations they were having, but it did seem like either everybody had to decide who to eliminate or I, it just didn’t seem like it was anything unique.
It was unique, but it’s what I’m saying is it didn’t seem like it was okay. Well. Vince, you’re HOH Morgan and Ashley, you’re voting and are you deciding between Ava or Keanu because there’s nothing unique about that. But regardless, tonight, you’re gonna see Keanu get evicted. Then there’s another HOH and Morgan wins it, and then there’s a power of veto.
And Morgan wins it. Like, can we end the season right now? We can end it four days early. She’s winning this thing. The only way she doesn’t win this because now she’s guaranteed herself Final three as winning the final four HOH. But I mean, you’ve seen Morgan’s resume as we head towards the end of the season, right?
She’s now won five of the last six vetoes. And if she knew how to add, she would’ve won six in a row. She’s won two hohs, three shadow Hohs. She’s had six straight weeks of immunity. She’s the only HOH to win veto in the same week that she reigned as the HOH, which is this week. I, I mean it. She’s completely dominating.
And anybody that doesn’t think that she should win, you just probably don’t like her because let’s be honest, she’s playing the best game, by the way, following her veto win. And her oral and her HOH win at Final Four, she has now set the record. She’s the first player in Big Brother US History to win some form of immunity in six straight rounds.
Nobody’s ever done that, and she just did that alone. Should be a big enough resume builder. And you can say like, well, it’s not all about comps, it’s about social game. Who is better at her than her in the social game? Somebody’s even close. Not only has she won all that for herself, she’s controlling everything that Vince does, and we know this based on their relationship.
She controlled all of his hohs. She’s got him wrapped around her finger and she knows it. The question now becomes, if she wins final three, HOH does she take, I’m assuming Ashley. Is making Final three, and it’s gonna be Ashley, Vince, and Morgan. I think that’s what they were. I was reading yesterday they were talking about Ava pretty much knows she’s going home, but if Morgan wins final three, HOH, who does she decide to take to Final two?
And I, I don’t think it matters because she’s gonna beat either Ashley or Vince. And even if. She doesn’t eliminate Ava and they don’t eliminate Ava on the live eviction and they eliminate Ashley. And it’s Ava Vincent Morgan. It doesn’t matter who she’s sitting next to, she’s winning this thing and probably winning it unanimously.
I think that she has dominated this game. I think she’s gonna go down as one of the top winners in the history of this show. I think she’ll be looked bat very fondly. For her gameplay, her strategy, her social game, how she literally took over this, because remember she was talking about the wall comp for so long.
This, this woman was a former track star, I believe, at Sacramento State, and she was talking about how good she was gonna do at the wall comp. And remember she was the first one off on the wall comp. If it wasn’t first, it was second. She was gone way early and she was embarrassed for herself. But literally ever since that wall comp, it’s almost like she put her nose to the grindstone and said, fuck this.
I’m winning out. And that’s exactly what she did. She’s got my vote. I gotta believe she’s gonna have everybody else’s vote. When people start going into the jury house and telling everybody there, telling Rachel, telling Will, telling Lauren, Hey, Morgan is just dominating. They’re gonna see that and gonna be like, wow.
She literally could not be evicted in any of the last six weeks because she, she was either HOH or one power of veto. She won five of the last six power of vetoes and two hohs, possibly a third coming up. Yeah. Best resume and I don’t think it’s close. So I mentioned yesterday the Dawson’s Creek reunion happened in New York on Monday night, and there are clips online playing.
You had to have your phone off during the whole. Presentation. So there isn’t clips of what happened during, there’s some clips have happened before and then when they came out and everybody was cheering them in a curtain call. I will say this, James VanDerBeek sent in a video message, and this is the first time I’ve seen him in a while.
And obviously he was struck down, he said by two viruses that has him laid up. Um, he does not look good. He does not look healthy. Um, I’m sure if you’ve seen the clip of it. You know, colorectal cancer obviously is no joking matter, but I wasn’t expecting him to look that sick, and I feel awful for him that I even donated the other night.
And, but just to see everyone up on stage, um, the family, his wife and kids came out and sang the Paula Cole theme song like. Emily Retta, who’s been, who’s a reporter for Variety, has been on this podcast numerous times in the past. I’m gonna have her on in the next couple weeks at some point because I want to get an an eyewitness version from her.
She was there and I want to get an eyewitness version from her of what happened and how it was, and, um, maybe it will get released. I don’t know. I, I, you know what? I should probably text her and find out. I texted her yesterday and said, I want you on the podcast soon. She’s like, absolutely. But maybe I’ll text her today and just ask, Hey, do you know of anything?
Will this possibly get released online? I don’t see why they wouldn’t, because if you release it online, on YouTube or whatever, then you can drop a link at the bottom. Anybody watching can donate. ’cause that was what the whole thing was for, was to donate to, for cancer. So why not release this online?
And maybe it is, and I haven’t seen it yet, but. That’s what we got. And you know, I said, could they have postponed this and waited till James was better? I don’t want to think of the morbid thought behind that of why they couldn’t postpone it, but I do also think that probably getting everybody’s schedule lined up again.
On such short notice. ’cause James found out like the day before, it’s not like he knew for two weeks he wouldn’t be able to show up. He found out the day before. And then to tell everybody who’s coming, yeah, hold onto your tickets. We’re gonna use ’em a different time. And then to get everybody who came out that night to then come back at a another night, probably just would’ve been logistically too tough.
I think they wanted to get this out there and I don’t blame them. So I had a bad, I mean, not a bad take. I just thought after seeing the clips and seeing what people were saying about it, who were in attendance, yeah, they did the right thing by going through with it. And Lynn Manuel Miranda, I heard did an excellent job reading for the role of Dawson, and yes, the.
Pacey, Joey, the Poy or JC fans are all just swooning over the end of the show during the curtain call Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes standing next to each other, arm in arm looking at each other. You know, they’ve got this series coming out that they’re filming. They’re definitely going to play into are they or aren’t they?
And you know what? I don’t blame them because people are going to be interested in this. It is going to be a huge topic and people like myself and anybody that watched Dawson’s Creek back in the day would absolutely lose their shit if those two end up dating end or remarrying each other, not remar getting remarried to each other.
Alright, final thing I wanna talk about and. You might think this isn’t remotely funny, but I do ’cause it’s so random. One of the things that I like doing, and I’ve always liked doing in terms of things to witness in person. When I lived in LA I went to the Magic Castle a few times. I’ve seen Matt Franco in Las Vegas at the link.
I’ve seen David Copperfield in Las Vegas at MGM Grand. I’ve always been a fan of magic. Now in recent years on social media, there are so many videos out there that show and reveal how magicians do their tricks. And even though I say I don’t like to be spoiled by anything in my life outside of the Bachelor franchise.
When it comes to magic, look, magic isn’t real. I know David Copperfield isn’t transporting himself from the theater. I was watching him in to a beach in Hawaii. I know he isn’t sawing a woman in half. I know he’s not sawing himself in half. I know David Copperfield can’t fly. So that’s why I’m interested in knowing, well, how does it happen?
So I’ve seen all these videos or whatever. So I say that to say last night on Instagram, a lot of the things that show up on my Instagram feed are. Instagram magicians doing sleight of hand stuff and it’s showing how it’s done and all these small tricks that you can do on Instagram. And last night there was this guy, it was a video I came across, just so random video I came across.
He’s got a deck of cards and he thumbs through it and says, Hey, look at this deck and tell me what card you memorize when I flip through it and he’s facing it to the camera. And then he is got a banana around his neck and he opens up the banana and there’s a card in the banana and he’s like, he pulls the card outta the banana.
He opens up the banana and says, was this your card? Well, obviously the way it worked was while he did flip through the cards very fast, he stopped for like a half a second on one card, and that happened to be the card that was in the banana. So, and it’s probably two videos put together. However, I was just scrolling the comments.
And I mean this, I, I, I, the guy’s name was, you can go watch the video on Instagram. It’s called Enrique the Magician, all one word, and try and find the trick where he thumbs through a deck of cards and has a banana around his neck. And I’m reading the comments, and you’ll probably see it too if you go, if you go look for it.
Montel Jordan, remember him from the nineties. This is how we do it. This is how we do it. Montel. Jordan responds to Enrique the magician on Instagram and says, you got me. And people are just like, I saw that. I’m like, what the hell? The internet, like I’ve always said, social media is like the greatest invention in the world, and it’s also the worst, but it’s times like last night where it became the greatest invention of the world.
When I see a rapper from the nineties randomly commenting on some magician I’ve never heard of on Instagram, who’s got a pretty basic card trick and Montel Jordan is stumped by by it. I told you like, I dunno, I just totally got a kick outta that and you might not even give a shit, but it was funny to me.
Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me in Apple Podcasts. Also rate and review. But you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts as a download.
