Daily Roundup 10/1 – DWTS Episode #3, Bachelor Talk, an Idea for Post-Big Brother Finale, Why Taylor Has Kept a Lower Profile, Jingle Ball’s Lineup, & a 90210 Memory I Saw Yesterday

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in. A good Wednesday show for you. We’re gonna go over Dance with the Stars last night, which kind of correlates to the bachelor topic I want to talk about. We got a little bit more from the Big Brother world.

Thank you to all of you who reached out to me in regards to my answer or an answer I was looking for in regards to Taylor Swift, why she hasn’t been visible at any chiefs games this year. Looks like we have our answer, even though it’s not written in stone. We have a better idea probably as to why, you know, radio stations around Christmas time do jingle ball.

Well, most of them made their announcement yesterday and, boy, am I getting old. And then I have a little 9 0 2 1 oh note for you as I like to throw in on occasion. So let’s get started. Last night was episode three of Dancing with the Stars. Only one person was eliminated. A little bit of a shocker. We knew she wasn’t going to win, but a little bit of a shocker to see her being the second person booted from the show.

And that was Lauren from Fifth Harmony, and she did have the second lowest score of the night. So it wasn’t completely foreign. She actually, she tied for the lowest. With Andy Richter. She had 18 at a 30. And you know, you look at last night’s dances, it was TikTok night, which is pretty crazy to think about that.

This show has been around long enough to where now it’s an embracing as one of its themes. TikTok Night, which literally just exploded, what, five years ago? And it’s already getting a theme on Dancing with the Stars. ’cause TikTok really took off, wasn’t it called musically right before COVID? Because I remember my, my niece Olivia was, was on that all the time.

And it was like, what is this? It’s musically, I’m like, and what does that mean? But TikTok, for me at least, took off during COV. And that’s when you know, we were all cooped up at home. We didn’t have a lot to do and we just started seeing all these videos of people doing dances and I don’t know how soon before COVID it was renamed TikTok, but I’m pretty sure TikTok used to be called Musically.

Anyway, there’s your TikTok history lesson, but last night you had two people at 18 points. Andy Richter and Lauren Jen Affleck had 19. Topanga had 21. Elaine Hendricks had 21. Scott Hoing from Pentatonics had 22, along with Ilaria and Robert Irwin. Dylan Ein had 23. Alex Earl had 23. Jordan Chiles had 24, and Whitney Levitt had 24.

So it’s not like someone is breaking away from the pack. But obviously Jordan Chiles and Whitney Levitt got three eights last night. But you also gotta remember the judges on this show, they are just gonna gradually increase scores. This is the way the show is, it’s almo. While, while it is a live show on Tuesday nights, the actual, the narrative of this show and the theme of this show is basically like we want these people to improve the whole season.

Which is why they start them in the six and seven range, and then by weeks three and four they’ll be eights and nines. We’ll have our first nine and either next week or the week after, and then around week six or week seven, so I wanna get a tent like they’re telling a story throughout the season. But obviously Andy Richter is the worst dancer on this season, but this show has never been about dancing.

It’s about popularity, it’s about how you connect with the audience. And you know, when you have, I, you know, we still don’t really necessarily, the average fan doesn’t necessarily know how the scoring system works. You know? Yes, it’s what the judges give you, but it’s combined with the viewers votes. And I, you know, the percentage and all this stuff, we don’t even really know, but Andy Richter and Lauren both had 18 last night, but we don’t know what the fan vote was at all.

We don’t see anything we’re just told with the lowest amount of votes combined with your score. Lauren, you’re going home. Okay. I guess we just have to accept it. Here’s something that I wanted to bring up, and this might be being talked about. I know it’s being talked about in one other place because I saw his Instagram feed post yesterday and Dave Neil talked about it.

On his podcast, so I’m gonna bring it up as well. And I don’t know what Dave said about it, I just know he talked about it because I only saw the clip that was on his Instagram feed and that was Robert Irwin as the next bachelor. People are talking about it, and my thoughts are this, if. Let’s back up.

First off, we have no idea if there’s even going to be a bachelor season in 2026 because this show just, they let us know when they feel like we should know. We don’t even know when Taylor, Frankie, Paul’s season is airing. I know he starts filming in a couple weeks. Are they gonna keep the same schedule?

Like is it the Bachelorette replacing the Bachelor on the schedule to where it’s gonna be the first Monday available in June of 2026, which is the week after the national championship game, which I believe is January 25th or 26th this year, that first Monday. That there is no college football just going ahead on my calendar here.

Yeah, it’d be Monday the 26th. Is it just gonna replace that? It seems like that would make the most sense because people are expecting their Bachelor franchise show, which has been the Bachelor for the last 15 years to air January to March. We know that there is no bachelor season airing from January to March, ’cause it’s gonna be a bachelorette season, but they haven’t told us when it’s airing yet.

Okay, that’s fine. I would think they’re gonna air it starting January 26th because they’re filming it. October, I’m assuming it’s gonna end before Thanksgiving, so it’s gonna be a much shorter filming schedule and, oh yeah, Taylor, Frankie Paul can’t leave the country because she does have a felony on her account, on her record, so they’re not going outta the country.

I can tell you that right now. They’re filming in la, they’re filming in Utah, and they are going to film, um, I don’t know where the final road ceremony is, but they’re not going overseas because she can’t for me in the mornings. Got a lot of work to get to, making sure the podcasts are posted, getting them out on my socials, checking the news, responding to emails.
