Daily Roundup 10/17 – Survivor’s Mid Episode, Special Forces Had Me Squirming, Amazing Race/Big Brother Drama Online Last Night, & Lifetime Christmas Movie Lineup Announced

?You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Friday. Good show as we head into the weekend. We’re gonna talk about Survivor from Wednesday night. We’re also gonna talk about special forces from last night.

I am gonna talk about Amazing Race for the first time this season, that episode from Wednesday night, which leads into something that allegedly happened in the Amazing Race slash Big Brother World last night. We have a breakup and cat done. I don’t wanna say is in the middle of it, but she tweeted something out and then deleted it.

So I think it must be true. And I also wanna talk about Hallmark Christmas movies. I know probably don’t expect to hear that from me, but I’ve gotta take on this. So let’s get started. Let’s go back to Wednesday. Survivor on Wednesday night. I’ll be honest, it was a pretty boring episode, I think, because the intrigue of who was gonna go home was just down to two people and, and usually when you go into tribal council, it usually is between one or two people.

But these are two people that literally hadn’t gotten any scream time pretty much all season. Matt and I forget who the other guy was, but Matt ended up going home because they did a tribe swap when you only had 14 people left. They did two tribes of seven. The Kella tribe only had two people left Alex and Sophie, and they got split up.

And then the red tribe, I’m already forgetting their tribe names, but they had four. The yellow tribe had two, and then their one on that team was Sophie, and then the new Cala tribe was four from the yellow team, two from the red team, and Alex from the original Cala, whatever the case may be. It was a pretty boring episode, I’ll be honest, and.

You know, you’re kind of seeing, if you go to Survivor Fact Checker on Instagram, you’re kind of seeing they break down kind of do. They do exactly what Susanna Summers does, bachelor data, and they break down confessionals. Who gets the most screen time? Every episode and you know, through four episodes you can see who’s leading.

Alex has the most confessionals at this point. Sophie is number two, Savannah’s number three, and Riz God is number four. And we all know Savannah and Riz God are the two contestants from this season that are on season 50. So we don’t know. I mean, some people probably do. I don’t want to know spoilers, but I guess it’s possible.

That Savannah or rgo actually wins this season. Clearly they go long enough to where Survivor Production thought they were relevant enough on season 49 to bring them back for season 50, and means one of them could have won. It means they both could have lost. We, we just don’t know, but they go fairly far and just seeing where they stand right now within their own tribe before the merge.

It’s like, okay, I can see why they, they go pretty far and they’re getting a lot of screen time. But overall, the episode was pretty lackluster, I thought. And the early season episodes usually are just because there’s so many people that can only focus on so many, and unless there’s a major blind side at Tribal, which there wasn’t on this one.

They’re usually just pretty average. It doesn’t start picking up until usually the merge or right around halfway through the season in terms of episodes, because then they can start focusing and we, we know a lot of people ’cause there’s like three or four contestants this season on Survivor that is literally getting no screen time.

The other Sophie, Christina. A couple others, they’re just, they’ve got like four confessionals in four episodes. That’s just nothing. I did watch Special Forces last night because I really enjoy that show, and I, I think in the previous, what three seasons? Has it been three or four? I always forget either way.

I think there’s been three. This is the fourth season of it. And in the previous seasons, I think the most winners we ever had, most people that ever made it to the end, I think was four. Right? That was the most we’ve ever had. When I look at this cast, I really, really think I, I, I could see like six people getting to the end, I think.

Eric Decker is getting to the end. They haven’t even barely showed Kristen Cavalier’s, ex Mark Estes. I could see him making it to the end. I could see Sean Johnson East making it to the end. I could see Randall Cobb making it to the end, like these athletes are killing it. And it was disappointing to see Johnny Manzel quit last night.

But I’ll tell you what. That crawling through the tunnels challenge, it might not have been the toughest thing they’ve ever done, but for me, I, I wouldn’t consider myself a claustrophobic person because I can’t say I’ve been in many claustrophobic situations outside of being in an elevator with a bunch of people, and I don’t get weirded out by that.

But watching them crawl through the tunnels in that small of space. And having to go into that dirty water and barely having keeping their head above water, which is very similar to that survivor challenge where they have to do, they, they do every once in a while, I forget what they call it, but you know, which one I’m talking about, watching them crawl through that and then go under that with the cage.

That made me anxious and I’m not an anxious person. So I, I, I wish Johnny Manaugh didn’t quit, but just being in that tight of space with all this stuff going around you and all this dirt falling on you, hell, three of the four teams ended up making it through and passing. But to me, of all the challenges they’ve done this season, if I were out there, that would’ve been the one that I disliked the most.

I’m sure, I mean, again, I haven’t been a, a person that’s afraid of heights, but I also haven’t been in many situations where I was up super high and had to, you know, walk the plank or something like that, you know? But that one last night, just watching it, I was squirming because it just, you almost put yourself in that position.

You’re like, Ooh, no, thank you, but. Good episode last night. I can, I can really see five to six people getting to the end of this thing, but maybe that’s just me and because they’re showing these guy, I mean, Randall Cobb, if Randall Cobb and Eric Decker aren’t finalists at the end of this thing, I’d be stunned because they seem to be getting through everything and they’re not having any issues unless once again.

You gotta take into account. I have no idea if any of these guys end up getting medically evacuated. I’m just saying I don’t think they would quit, and I don’t think the staff is gonna be like, no, we don’t think you’re cut out for this. Like those guy Eric Decker is, and Randall Cobb absolutely can make it through this.
