Daily Roundup 10/21 – Vince from Big Brother Finally Speaks, Andrew Spencer Throws Shade at Me on a Podcast, & Wicked Night on DWTS Has Me Excited

So a few of you sent this to me. On Friday and over the weekend because you heard it on the Chicks in the Office podcast.

Chicks in the office and they talked about their time on Bachelor in Paradise, and we’re talking about the time of how to like, keep it quiet that they were together while, you know, it filmed in May, but it didn’t start airing till July. So they had to keep it quiet and, and you know, like most couples have to on this show or Bachelor, bachelorette, then they got into the topic of spoiling.

So I’m just gonna play you this segment where I get brought up in all this. And this is from the Chicks in The Office podcast on Friday.

You don’t want. And because people do love spoiling,

they

do this

show specifically. Course it’s corny

to me also like, yeah,

my friend followed you guys like, or followed you.

I mean like the day after and then they figured it out on, on. Right, right, right. You can’t even like

follow the person like the reality Steve, dude.

Yeah. Yeah.

I think it, I think it’s so weird. Yeah. I mean like, I mean it’s, you’re what, like 50 and you’re like talking about reality TV and trying to spoil every season.

That’s just my opinion. Sorry. Oh, it’s like, yeah, I just think it’s weird. I mean, I get it. I get it. I mean, oh, ’cause he

spoils it. I see what you’re saying. I just don’t

like the spoiling part. Like, like yeah,

someone telling like Santa Cla this

you are the story of, of

Okay. Then they get into the story of how, I don’t know, which, I don’t know what chick.

Quote unquote from chicks in the office. It was, but remember back on Zach’s season, she said she had info that was given to her that Zach had already dumped Katie and was living with Jess, and they ran with it, and then they basically said like, oh, you know, we don’t know. I, I didn’t, they basically didn’t do a good job of, of vetting their sources, but I just, I didn’t call them out at the time.

I just said, Hey. I, I think I would’ve just taken a different approach. They made it seem so, sure. And that was something pretty big. Like the, the lead dumping the one he chose and is already living with somebody else. Like you had to know that there was probably something off with that. And they literally admitted, I had one person tell me this, like they didn’t vet it.

Anyway. There’s a couple things I want to go over here about what Andrew said, and like I said, I’ve had way worse things said about me, so this really doesn’t even scratch the surface. But so many of you sent it with to me and obviously I know Dave Neil talked about it in his podcast this morning. I appreciate Dave sticking up for me.

Um, I’ve seen a lot of the comments that nobody is really siding with Andrew on this, and really, why would you? It’s really just an ignorant take and for two reasons. Number one, it’s clear. Listening to Andrew say that, that Andrew doesn’t know anything about me or what I do other than, oh, he just assumes reality.

Steve equals spoiler guy, and he clearly doesn’t know that you realize. This show does what, three, maybe four shows a year. Bachelor, bachelorette, bachelor in Paradise, and then a Golden Season. And I put the spoilers out for that. If all I did was spoil the show, like one of the women on Chicks in the Off suggested, if you listen to her, she’s like, this is his life.

It’s like. You do understand, I put out a podcast about the bachelor slash reality tv slash pop culture every day. If all anyone cared about was the spoilers, then I’d have four podcasts a year where I release the spoilers that were relevant to people, and that’s just not the case. So it’s just an ignorant take when you say that and you say It’s his life, and Andrew clearly doesn’t follow what I do.

And I cover a lot more than the Bachelor franchise now, and I also think that Andrew isn’t aware that really all I do is spoiler stuff. Now you know me. I have not really gone into the backstory of a lot of people in recent years, and if I do, I’m not taking the bullets for people. I make sure that if someone wants to talk shit about a contestant or has dirt on a contestant, they put their name to it.

Now I’ve been doing that literally for five years. So, Andrew probably has an opinion of me, but it’s based off something that hasn’t happened in years, and I think a lot of people in this franchise do, and there’s nothing I can do about that. But when they speak on me and they speak of that stuff, it’s like, I don’t know, find a story about me that’s relevant.

And that’s actually somewhat recent. You know, that’s really all I ask is if you actually knew what I did and I don’t do the stuff that I used to do anymore, you’d probably understand. The other thing is the comment about being 50. I mean, that just sounds ignorant on his part. It’s very ageist, but I don’t understand what me being 50 has to do with anything.

If the information I give on spoilers is right, does it matter that I spoiled it as a 50-year-old? What if I was 70 and I gave out spoilers to a show? And they were all right. Would you be like, oh my God, why is this guy giving out information at 70 years old? Like, don’t you just care that the information is right?

You, you obviously understand Andrew. Also, I started this in 2009. At that time I was 34 years old, so when I started spoiling at 34, you were probably a teenager, I would think, right? You’re 20 years younger than me, roughly. So he was probably 15 years old when I started spoiling. I’m sure he didn’t have a take on me then.

I’m sure he didn’t know who I was then. But just to say like, oh, he’s 50 years old, spoiling reality tv. That just makes him sound pretty oblivious and pretty ignorant because that has my age has nothing to do with what I do for my job, which is talk to reality TV contestants, spoil the show talk, pop culture, talk reality tv like, would you like me to stop, Andrew?

Was I supposed to stop at a certain age? It’s just the whole take is so bizarre. And look, it makes him look bad. It doesn’t make me look bad, but you all sent it to me. Dave talked about it on his podcast this morning. As I said, um, not many people are running to Andrew’s defense with this take. It’s just a bad take.

And the funny thing is, if you actually watch the video clip. Alex once Andrew says, that kind of shakes her head and is like, well, this is his thing. She’s almost like, Alex Andrew, what’s the big deal? This is his thing. Let him do his thing. You can just tell, not that Alex is a huge fan of mine. I’ve never spoken to Alex in my life, but if you watch the video, you can kind of tell Alex is like, Ugh, this is a bad take, Andrew.

And for the. Chicks in the office, girls to chime in and say, yeah, it’s his life. It’s like, actually again, you clearly don’t follow me. You clearly don’t listen to my podcast. You haven’t listened in years. All you see is spoiler related stuff. And you know, um, there’s way more things that I talk about on my podcast than the Bachelor franchise.

It’s just fact. And it’s been out there ever since. I started doing the daily roundup in July of 2022. Like. There’s way more to what I do than spoiling now. But you know, you let people say, you, you, you let people show you who they are and then believe them. Because I think Andrew kind of showed his cards yesterday, or not yesterday, but Friday when that podcast came out, because let’s face it, it was a very ignorant take.

It was very uninformed. And it was also very ageist. And do I expect an apology? No. You gotta remember, this guy is also buddies with Greg Grippo. And Greg Grippo, I don’t think is a fan of mine either. So he’s probably just ingrained in his head. He’s not supposed to like me because I don’t know. I told the truth about Greg numerous times before.

It is what it is. I, I’m not gonna lose sleep over this. Like I said, what Andrew said in that podcast, while ignorant and uninformed is not nearly probably one of the 10 worst things that’s ever been said about me, so let him be. But I thought I would bring it up since a lot of you sent it to me over the weekend and then yesterday and then after you heard Dave’s podcast.

So just thought I would address it. So tonight. Dancing with the Stars, it’s wicked Night. The song lists are out. You can go Google it if you want to know before the dances take place of who’s dancing to what song. And remember last year I told you the whole, my whole thing with Wicked is my sister was obsessed with Judy Garland growing up, had all the Wizard of Oz stuff all over her room.

Judy Garland was her favorite actress and she used to watch Wizard of Oz all the time. Therefore, I was stuck watching Wizard of Oz all the time as well, and I liked it and I can still recite the movie to this day. And when Wicked came out as a musical. I remember I did see it, I wanna say early two thousands, and I can’t remember who I saw it with.

I’m assuming it was with my sister, but it was, I, I think I saw it at Pantages in la, but I didn’t remember it at all. I couldn’t tell you one thing about it other than I remember it was about the wicked witch of the West and. I didn’t remember her name and an alphabet. I didn’t remember anything about. I didn’t remember any of the songs, nothing.

And then when Wicked came out last November, I remember saying, well, I wanna watch it because I don’t remember the play. And I liked Wizard of Oz and I wanna see what all the hype is about. And then after I saw it, I saw it again, and then I saw it a third time with a different family member. And I became obsessed with Wicked and how good it was.

And remember I told you I thought John Chu should have won the best director. I thought Ariana Grande should have won best supporting actress and Cynthia Arrivo should have won. Best Actress. Now, Cynthia Arrivo and Ariana Grande were nominated. Neither of them won, but I didn’t watch any of the other movies up that had best actress and best supporting actress.

So I, I get it. But I was just so blown away by their performances and how good it was, and I said, well, this was part one. Part two doesn’t come out till next November. Am I gonna be able to avoid about the spoilers about this movie? Because it’s very easy to do. I could either, A, remember what I saw back in Pantages in the early two thousands, or just not read into anything and not read into stuff about.

The, the plot of the whole Wicked, and I’m here to tell you, one month out of part two being released, I haven’t read a thing, I still do not know what happens in Wicked For Good Part two, whatever you wanna call it. I am, I’ve come across stuff on the internet and I immediately scroll past it. There are, I haven’t even listened to, you know, defy Gravity is probably the song most recognizable with Wicked.

But everybody, there are a lot of people that say For Good is just as good if not better than Defying Gravity. And I’ve chosen not to listen to it for the last year. I couldn’t tell you. So I don’t know what I’m gonna do when for when one of the couples, I can’t remember who’s dancing to for Good Tonight, but somebody is, and I gotta figure out what I’m gonna do.

Am I just gonna skip their dance? I feel like I kind of have to. I don’t wanna hear the song until I hear it in the movie. Is that dumb of me or should I listen to it before I go see the movie? I don’t know. But I’m excited for Wicked Night Tonight. A year ago this time would’ve been like, what? Why would I care so much about a wicked night for Dancing with the Stars?

Now I’m gonna know every song outside of a couple that are in. The part two. But yeah, I gotta determine if I’m gonna skip I’ll let you know tomorrow. I will let you know tomorrow if I skipped whoever performed to for good tonight. And yeah, I’m very, I’m pretty proud of myself for being able to not, ’cause I could easily just Google what’s the plot of Wicked and just read the whole thing.

Because I still have questions. I don’t understand. I’ve been talking about this for a year. I don’t understand because Wizard of Oz was a dream of Dorothy’s. Now I understand that the guy who wrote Wicked, basically when the Wizard of Oz was written in, came out and whatever, 1939, it did not have a prequel to it.

There was no backstory that just didn’t get developed for 50 years. This guy who decided to write a prequel to Wizard of Oz and call it Wicked. He’s just having free reign of the storyline while sticking to some of the things that happened in Wizard of Oz. He’s creating a whole narrative that the original movie has nothing to do with it, and that’s where I’m trying, that’s what I’m trying to get through, is ’cause I’m still thinking of what happened in Wizard of Oz and how does this make sense when I watch Wicked.

And I guess I have to separate myself from that because. When Wizard of Oz was written, it had nothing to do with what is happening in Wicked. There was no prequel in Frank L Bombs, right? Frank Lbo, or the creator of Wizard of Oz. There was no prequel in his head when he wrote it. He just wrote a movie about, oh, this girl, and gets hit in the head with a.

Window pane and tornado, and it lands and it’s all, and it’s all a dream. She wakes up at the end and it’s all a dream. Well, it’s like, well, if it’s all a dream, how does wicked even take place? Because. I know, and the one thing I do know, I guess I, you know, mini spoiler about part two is I know that Dorothy, the tin man, the lion and the scarecrow are part of part two and they’re part of the wick.

But I was like, huh, how is that possible? So look, I’ll have my answer in a month, and then you’ll get my full review of everything. I’m sure I’m gonna love it. But yeah, I still have questions because I’m, I, I still am having a hard time separating Wizard of Oz from Wicked. I, I, I can’t, I’m, I’m just having a hard time computing certain things, you know what I’m saying?

Anyway, I’m gonna talk about the Laura Owens thing tomorrow. I don’t want to get into it right now. Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcast. Also, rate and review, but you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts as a download. Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now.

If you wanna go check that out. Again, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it, and I will talk to you tomorrow.
