Daily Roundup 10/22 – Bachelorette Men Should Be Coming, Wicken Night on DWTS, Back to the Future Day, & an Update on San Francisco Court Proceedings Involving Laura Owens

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality Sea podcast. I’m your host reality. Steve. Thank you all for tuning in. Got a few things to go over today. Dancing With the Stars. Wicked Night was last night. It was happy back to the future day one of many yesterday. I’ll explain why. And we have a mini update in the Laura Owens case that actually doesn’t have to do with Clayton.

She is causing a whole bunch of mess again, and I’ll briefly, briefly go over it. So let’s get started. However, in my best Julie Chan impression, but first still no guys have been released for TFPs Taylor. Frankie Paul’s bachelorette season. It’s gotta be coming soon. I’m telling you, because the dates start this weekend.

Limo interest is, is this weekend. Now maybe they’re changing things up and they’re not releasing the contestants early. I guess that’s possible. Or we could be looking at a Saturday start and we’re getting the men today. Either way, we just have to wait and see if men are released. If not, just know filming starts this weekend.

Taylor, Frankie Paul has been in LA since last weekend when the fittings for were Happening, so she’s there. Filming is starting. The men are there. I just don’t know why they haven’t been posted yet, but. Limo entrances is this weekend and then whatever day it is, the next day is a day off, and then dates start.

So we just have to just keep paying attention to the bachelorette Facebook page because that’s when the men will go up, unless they have changed something that they’ve done for, gosh, I can’t even remember what season they started it. You know, for the longest time, they never posted the men or the women that were gonna be on the upcoming season.

So I was getting spoilers. Remember I used to get pictures of dates, but I didn’t necessarily have the first and last names of the contestants that were on the show. The ones that I did, I would try to identify and say, Hey, I know who this person is. I know who this person is, but this woman in the yellow shirt, I have no idea who that is.

And then inevitably somebody would message me and say, I know who it is. So that’s kinda the way it worked back in the day recently. I shouldn’t even say recently, I gotta believe what the last 10 years they have released the contestants. For some reason, I wanna say Sean, Lowe’s season is the first time they released the contestants.

Days before filming began with the first name, age, and City. I want, I don’t know why that’s in my head. I could be wrong, but it’s been a good 10 years. It gives the opportunity to somebody to contact the show and say, Hey, this person has problematic behavior in the past, but it’s been a while and they’ve done it for every season.

Bachelor, bachelorette, golden Bachelor, golden Bachelorette. So this is what actually, I think for Gary’s season, they didn’t do it. They did it for Mels. For Gary’s season? I don’t think they did. ’cause I remember we got the women released basically right after filming ended. Either way, it’s kind of, we know for Bachelor and Bachelorette, they have done this every season for at least 10 years, so that incorporates almost 20 seasons, and I guess we just have to wait and see if they’re still doing it.

You know, we have a whole new production team. The show has basically. Swapped out what we know from the old production team and brought in a whole new one. So I would think they would still do that, but I have no idea. It’s not my call and we just have to wait. So we’ll pay attention and keep our eyes on that bachelorette Facebook page and see if the guys are released today or tomorrow.

Let’s talk a little dance with the Stars. Last night it was wicked night. And I thought it was really good. Carrie Ann, who is the queen of hyperbole, because I don’t know how many times she has said this is my favorite dance ever. I think she says it once a season, so I don’t know, maybe the new dance.

Every new season is now her new favorite dance. I don’t know, but she says it all the time. But she said last night, last night’s theme of Wicked. Was her favorite show in the history of the show. Okay, we’ll take her word for it. Obviously, it’s just her opinion. I thought it was really good, but to sit here and be like, no.

But remember in season 16, in episode eight where they had like, I don’t remember. I watch all the episodes. A lot of the time it’s on in the background and I’ll, you know, peak up once in a while when I’m not playing some. A Block Crush game on my phone or something. But I watched a lot of Last Nights in Per, I mean, I watched all of it, but in terms of paying attention to it I really watched a lot and I told you all that yesterday in regards to Wicked and how I’ve become such a huge fan of that franchise and that movie Can’t wait till it comes out on November 21st.

And so I was, the good thing was I was very familiar with all the songs that were performed last night, except for. I think there were three that were in, that are gonna be in part two, but maybe four, but most of them were from the original and a lot of great dances. Elaine’s was just iconic because the last 15 seconds of the dance wasn’t even a dance.

So she performed to defy gravity. And we all know from the movie, we all know from the play. The big thing in defying gravity is when alphabet raises into the air and her cape becomes super duper big and long, and they basically recreated that scene from the play, and it was just super cool. There was no dancing involved.

It was just Elaine being raised on the stage. And her witches dress just getting bigger and bigger. But just to see that on the dance with the star stage was totally cool. It was a moment. I think it’s a moment that not a lot of people will ever forget when they talk about Wicked Night. It’s gonna be the most memorable thing for years to come on Wicked Night, and probably just one of the more memorable things that’s ever happened on this show.

It was just super, super cool. We had some tens given out. Jordan Chiles got the highest score of the night. She got 39 outta four and she got three tens. Only Derek didn’t give her a 10 and she danced to four. Good. At the end, I muted it. I did not listen to the song ’cause I’ve held out for 11 months. I might as well hold out another month.

Not to mention, these songs were all truncated because they had to be cut down to 90 seconds. Defy gravity is like six minutes long, so I didn’t want to get I, if I wanna hear for good, I wanna hear the full thing. Didn’t wanna listen to just 90 seconds. So I watched her and I muted it. And then once they were done with their dance, I unmuted it so I can hear them drop F-bombs.

When they got their scores, did you see that? Did you notice how your TV went silent when they were up in the booth talking to Julianne and after they got the first 10 of the season, the sound went off and that’s because they were dropping F-bombs. Speaking of Julianne, great dancer, great choreographer, iconic on this show, but she really, really needs to work on her interviewing skills.

I understand it’s a pretty thankless job because you’re not gonna dig into these people, you’re never gonna criticize, and it’s just a lot of fluff back there. But Julianne kind of says the same thing to everybody. How did it feel being out there? It felt great. Julianne, I’m out here every week. I, I don’t know what you want me to say.

Yeah, she’s, she could use a little work, but she’s a great choreographer and an unbelievable dancer, and a huge a to the show. I just think, obviously they need a backstage interviewer or a booth interviewer. It’s just the way the show works. It just doesn’t seem like she’s gotten better in the years that she has done it.

No shade, but I’m sure she’s aware of how she could be better. Yesterday was back to the future day, in case you didn’t know. Well, it was one of the back to the future days, and let me explain because. There are certain dates in Back to the Future when you’re watching the movie that are important dates, but they could all be considered relevant dates in the movie.

So which day do you celebrate back to the Future Day? October 21st is a big back to the Future day, but it actually has to do with Back to the Future too, because that’s when Doc and Marty go to 2015. They arrive in the year 2015, on October 21st. Now this Sunday, October 26th is another big day and could be considered back to the future day.

That’s the one honestly, that I consider back to the future day because it’s in the first movie and it’s relevant because it’s the first time we see time travel, and when Marty meets Doc. At the Twin Pines Mall in the beginning of the movie, when it’s Twin Pines Mall, we know at the end of the movie it’s the Lone Pine Mall.

Hope you know the reason for that. But in the beginning of the movie, when he meets him, because Doc says basically he got a surprise for you, and that’s when he introduces him to the DeLorean, which is a time machine. And when Marty goes back to 1955 that night, then he meets Doc at. 1 21 in the morning.

That is October 26th, 1985. So that is a big day in back to the future lore. Now the other thing is when Marty goes back to the future, he arrives in 1955 on November 5th, because that was the last date that Doc punched into the DeLorean. Because he was telling Marty the story of, that was the day that he invented time travel.

When he got to the, when he invented the flux capacitor. And then right after that is when he saw the Libyans coming. And so he gets outta the car and they’re running around and all is helter skelter. But the last thing he had punched in was November 5th, 1955. So when Marty jumped into the car to escape the Libyans, that’s what the time circuits were on.

So what is another date that’s relevant? Well. September 1st is a date, but that has to do with the third movie because September 1st, 1885 is the date that Doc wrote the letter to Marty, and that’s the date that he arrives back in 1885, September 7th is the date he comes back. 1985 from 1885. So those are the biggest dates.

October 21st, October 26th, November 5th, I guess you could say November 12th, because that was a week after he arrived in 1955. And that’s when the clock tower is gonna be struck by lightning. Yeah, but I guess I should say I don’t really acknowledge November 12th because outside of I think one or two instances, it’s brought up in the movie.

It’s not a, a major date. I would say the biggest date would be for me this Sunday, October 26th, so this Sunday I’ll be 40 years to the day that Marty McFly time traveled from 1985 to 1955. How do you celebrate back to the future day? I’ll tell you how I do. I’ll be watching it again, and that’ll be basically one week out from when I’m seeing it in IMAX, because I’m going to see it on November 2nd.
