Daily Roundup 10/28 – Bachelorette Filming Update, Drama Heading Into DWTS, More Info on Back to the Future Week, & a Celeb Engagement That’s Screwing with my TV Mind

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Tuesday. A good show for you. We’re gonna talk a little bit more about Bachelorette filming, which is underway. A brief hit on yesterday’s podcast in regards to what I said about Laura Owens and the other content creators that are talking about this in much more detail than I did yesterday.

We got a little Dancing with the Stars controversy heading into tonight’s episode, and I noticed, because this is the 40 year anniversary of Back to the Future, you notice me talking about it the last couple podcasts. I’m probably gonna do a story on it a day. All week, because the major entertainment sites are doing a story on it, seemingly a day all week.

And then on next Monday, I’ll tell you how my IMAX experience was. And then we have an engagement, a celebrity engagement that’s infringing upon one of my favorite TV shows and we will talk about that right now. So yesterday’s podcast I had recorded a little bit earlier. On Sunday, it was probably, I don’t know, when did I record?

Seven eight o’clock central time on Sunday night for yesterday’s podcast. And at the time I had told you, look. Jesse Palmer was in South Carolina for the Bama, South Carolina game on Saturday. So clearly filming didn’t start on Saturday. I said without any proof. Filming began Sunday night, and then hours after I had recorded that podcast, Jesse posted from the mansion all lit up as it would be on a night one.

So now we do have confirmation. Filming began Sunday night at the Mansion. Which I expected yesterday was an off day. Today will be the first group date of the season, the first date of the season. So we’ll get to that. Uh, maybe something will get out, maybe not. Again, once a new season starts filming, it’s hit or miss on what gets out publicly.

Now we know there are two public dates next week that you can attend. If you contact the email address on the Bachelor Nation website. I believe it’s what, November 3rd and November 5th, something like that. And you can attend that. And obviously people that are in attendance at that, while they will be told, don’t say anything, that’s also hit or miss every season of what gets out and what doesn’t, because other people outside of people who work on the show saw what the filming was.

So, you know. Sometimes it gets out, sometimes it doesn’t. And then obviously we know they are going to Utah at some point this season, but from the Mansion and from la, are they going straight to Utah or are they going somewhere else in between LA and Utah, or are they going la, Utah and then some other US city?

We, we just don’t know until filming officially. Well, it started Sunday, but dates officially start today. And then hopefully we’ll find out more as the season goes on and I’ll, I’ll fill you in on anything. I know, uh, I do have a couple more of the guys that I posted last night on my Instagram, so go check those out.

And I’m almost at all 26 men, so I will fill you in on when I get all those and you can check those out and maybe more information will come. And we’ll go over it. And remember in yesterday’s podcast, I had told you that when I posted the men that I did know, I tagged their Instagram accounts. So it shows up in my Instagram messages that it was sent.

Like, it’s like I had sent them a message, even though I didn’t send them a message, I just tagged them. But it appears that way. Well, if they look at it, that means that either A, they got their phone back and they’re no longer on the show, or B. Someone is controlling their social media account. And I said one of the men, Joe Rallo had looked at it, had shown in my messages it was seen.

Well, if you go to Joe rao’s Twitter account, you saw that yesterday or Sunday night, he did one of his gambling podcasts for uh, sen, which is the Vegas Sports Information Network. So clearly he was never cast on the show. At the most, Taylor has 25 men because 26 men were given out last Thursday. And Joe Rallo is not in the cast because he did a podcast on Sunday night slash I can’t, I don’t know if he did it Sunday night or if he did it Monday morning, but it was after the Sunday night football game because he was talking about the Steelers packers.

So he clearly had got eliminated, uh, before filming even started. Yesterday I spent, what, the last 10 or 12 minutes or so talking about Laura Owens and the latest going on with her and I said, Hey, there is a Instagram account out there, uh, that showed she placed over the weekend in a couple horse jumping races that she does.

Three days after she told a San Francisco court, she has a life-threatening illness, and that’s why she couldn’t go to San Francisco, and that life-threatening illness was gastrointestinal bleeding. She was vomiting blood, and then three days later she’s jumping on horses, so clearly lying again, but.

Megan Fox actually has video footage of her jumping on horses this weekend, which was then showed on Dave’s Instagram post yesterday. So Megan and Dave are doing deeper dives than I am on this. I’m just speaking about it. Very surface level of she told a San Francisco judge, Hey, I can’t make trial Three days before the trial was supposed to start, she says, here’s basically a note from my doctor that I have gastrointestinal bleeding, uh, severe.

Anorexia, I’ve lost 50 pounds and I’m vomiting blood, sorry, can’t make it for a trial that was supposed to be on Tuesday and Wednesday and then said I have an appointment set for Wednesday, that Wednesday of last week where I know the trial is. Second day of trial is supposed to be this day. I can’t make it ’cause this is the only day the doctors can see me.

Three days later, she’s horse jumping. So, but Dave and Megan go into more detail of it if you wanna check that out on either of their channels, but it’s just laughable at this point because while she did get an extension to November 5th on this, I’m gonna go out on a limb completely my opinion, she ain’t fucking showing up on November 5th either.

There’s gonna be something and she’ll claim that the court system is after her. This is someone who is a compulsive liar. She is a compulsive liar to the point of you’ve never seen anybody lie as much as this woman. So if you think she’s showing up on November 5th, you’ve got another thing coming.

Because I don’t think there’s a chance in hell my opinion. I don’t think there’s a chance in hell. She’s showing up for a trial that she doesn’t have representation for and she has to rep herself. You realize that means she has to interview Greg Nik. One of the lawyers who fought against her in the trial last year wasn’t the one who cross examined her, but Clayton’s main lawyer, she is going to cross-examine a lawyer.

Okay. Like I said, I almost want it to happen just for the sheer comedy of it, but it’s not going to, I’m telling you, this woman is not gonna show up in court representing herself. She will get crucified. Not to mention she’s currently in a completely different trial that’s supposed to happen at the end of January where the Arizona prosecutor’s office is literally got seven felony counts against her.

She is just so, she has no idea what she’s doing. Let’s just put it that way. But while she asked for an extension to November 5th, you just wait. There is zero chance she shows up on November 5th. Which, hey, just means Mike Marni is gonna win his case, but she’ll come up with some excuse and then she’ll say, the judge was being unfair.

We already know her playbook. The judge is being unfair, the system is against her. She’s suffering mightily, and she’ll make up some excuse. It’s literally what she’s done for two years. None of us should be be surprised by anything that she’s doing. Is it infuriating? Of course. But this is who Laura Owens is.

She has shown us who she is for the last two years, so none of us should be surprised at anything that we’re seeing right now. Boy, dancing with the Stars has a little controversy on their hands, don’t they? Tonight, Cheryl Burke is going to be one of the guest judges and everybody thought Cheryl Burke had basically been blackballed from the show once she started her podcast because she was very critical of the show, constructive criticism.

But she also threw in some shade there at former people that had danced on the show, former people that had worked on the show. Um, and she was very critical, but was very open and honest. She’s being brought back as a judge. Probably the other most outspoken person, former alumni of the show is Max Koski.

We know this Max. Really has no filter, and him and his wife Peta have a podcast. And this past Friday they were very, very critical of pro. Jan Raznick, who is a former dancer on the Aris tour with Taylor Swift, and basically Max went all in on Yawn and said, this guy shouldn’t be on the show. He’s not a ballroom dancer.

He said Dancing with the Stars is a worldwide phenomenon. I’m sorry. Jan has absolutely no business Being a pro on Dancing With the Stars, there’s zero foundation technique, quality, understanding of the partnership. Bro, I’m getting emotional. It is absurd and this is unreal. How blind we have to be. God forbid we say what’s obviously there.

He said when he got a 32 outta 40 last week on Wicked Night for the Fox trot, uh, with his partner, Val said. He had no idea what the Fox Trott entailed. Speaking of Jan, he said, how are you gonna expect him to teach it and deliver that message in a format that is completely different from even ballroom dancing?

We had this criticism weeks ago, and I’m like, bro, is anybody going to explain it to him? Peta even joined in and said, the mo, the. Uh, the, uh, performance last week was moody and dramatic, but she did not love the foxtrot element, fox trot elements that rodnick included because it just didn’t hit the technique.

She said He’s learning, he’s learning slowly. It’s his first season. We have to give him grace for not understanding the foxtrot technique. And, and Max, I said, Val earlier, max said, no, not on board with giving him grace. We saw one dance that delivered some sort of direction and then that was just went off to Cliff.

PETA admits The reason Avni is even a pro on the show this season, an obvious reason apart from the fact that he’s a lovely guy, he looks great, and he’s obviously a great dancer, is the fact that he was a dancer on Taylor Swift’s tour and people are just interested in everything to do with Taylor Swift’s life, even if it is one of her backup dancers, just was randomly named a pro on dancing with the Stars when he has no ballroom dancing experience apparently.

She said hiring a non ballroom dancer to teach ballroom dancing to a celebrity as a job is outrageous, so they’ve made it known. I’m very curious tonight to see if Jan addresses this either in the video package or if the judges say something to him. I’m sure the judges will side with him. The judges aren’t gonna say, yeah, Jan, you know what?

What Max and Peter said about you is right. You don’t know anything about ballroom hits. Of course, they’re not gonna say that. But I’m curious to see what kind of slant is put on this now that that is, that this is out there. You know, I’m not an aficionado of the ballroom world. I had no idea. Did I know that Jan was from the ERAS tour?

Yes. They made it known when they announced him as a pro on the first episode, and he introduced himself in the video package. But. While I thought, well, I knew that he was a dancer on the ERAS tour. I didn’t know what his background was. Maybe he had a background in ballroom. Apparently he doesn’t, apparently he’s got no background in ballroom, and the reason that he was criticized and she only got 32 outta 40 last week was because there were no foxtrot elements in her foxtrot, which would kind of expose him because it’s like it’s a foxtrot.

Now Max went on to say there have been pros who haven’t been well versed in the ballroom world in the past, but they have adjusted or at least tried to learn, and I guess Max’s complaint is Jan isn’t even trying to learn ballroom. He’s out there with no ballroom background and nobody is teaching him.

He’s saying that. Jan should be doing four hours with his partner and then doing another four hours on his own own learning ballroom. It’s just so he can go back to his partner and showing this, I guess it’s too late for all that he, I, you know, I don’t think anybody thinks that Jen Affleck is going to win this season, but is this kind of a pile on by Max?

Does Max have to be so forthcoming about this? I don’t know. I’m not telling Max what he can and can’t say. Maybe it’s a little extreme, but it doesn’t make it any less true. If Jan has no ballroom experience, then yes, this is a major loss and dance with the stars dropped the ball on this because they’re trying to take advantage of Jan because he worked with Taylor Swift and.

Look, he is a good dancer. It’s not like he doesn’t know how to dance and they just cast some random, no, he’s a good dancer. He looks good out there, but maybe they just figured not every dance that we do on this show is ballroom related. So maybe we can skirt by on the weeks that he has a ballroom dance and on the weeks that he doesn’t with contemporary and.

Whatever else isn’t considered a ballroom dance that they have theme weeks for, or certain themes for their dances. You know, maybe just all they could get away with it. I don’t know. But Max piling on. I can’t say I’m too surprised ’cause Max has never had a filter. Go back to looking at clips. Google, Carrie Ann versus Max and Hope solo, Google Max and Hope solo rehearsal.

Like this guy doesn’t hold back ever. This is who Max is. So giving him a podcast where he really has nothing to do with the show anymore. I think last year wasn’t Max brought back last season, or maybe it was two seasons ago. As a judge, I thought he was an excellent judge and why wouldn’t he be? He’s one of the best dancers this show has ever had, one of the best pro dancers they’ve ever had.

But he is also very outspoken and he’s very blunt. So now he has a podcast that has no affiliation to Dancing with the Stars, I don’t believe, and he just. Can just fire off whenever he wants to. So this is what Max does, and while it may seem a little bit harsh, it doesn’t mean it’s not true. So I’m really curious to see how it’s addressed, if at all, on tonight’s show.
