Daily Roundup 12/3 – Juliana Talks About the Grant Breakup on a Podcast, a Fan Favorite TV Show Cancelled, and Simon Cowell on Seacrest, Idol, and Britney Spears

the other thing that happened at the end of that interview was Serena asked her before we wrap up here, basically, is there anything else. You would like to clear up in terms of the perception of you, your relationship, rumors you’ve seen online, comments that people made about you, anything you want to address here.

And Juliana made it a point to say, you know what, there is one thing and she said. I think that taking away the breakup in the public, kind of going through being in the public eye, the ups and downs of that. I think the one thing that really hurt my feelings the most and was disheartening was when Latia went on a podcast and insinuated things about my sex life, and then Zoe chimed in in the comments online to basically confirm that Latia was talking about me, to make sure people knew that I only say that because I think it was such a dagger and it added fuel to this fire of she was the easy choice.

He chose lust over love. And I think it was so embarrassing for me to deal with that, and I was embarrassed for my family. I was embarrassed for my employer. I was mortified that people that didn’t know me would think that I slept with this man just to get a ring on my finger or to win a reality show. I think that truly, if I was her, I would be embarrassed for saying that because I think as women, we do have to stick together.

And of course there’s going to be little tidbits here and there. And there are things that we don’t agree on and hate spread whether we like it or not, but to bring another woman’s sex life into a public eye conversation when she didn’t hear from it, excuse me, when she didn’t hear it from the source and heard it through the grapevine and doubled down on it in the last podcast she did, that I probably should have listened to, but I had my sister do the recon on that.

It’s very disheartening, and I’m not calling her ugly, but it’s ugly behavior and that’s not the case, and that wasn’t the case. I would just love to put that to bed so that she can stop talking about it and I can stop getting dms calling me some uncomfortable names because somebody’s out there saying, I’m sleeping around to get a ring.

That was a very interesting take that she had because that’s the first we’ve ever heard her say that. Now I had to go back and Google, I don’t even remember Latia saying that, but I can’t imagine Juliana made that up out of the blue. Did she? Did Laia say something about Grant and Juliana having sex in the, assuming the fantasy suite, and in what context did she say it?

Did she insinuate it and then Zoe’s comment made it? I don’t know. And what we’ve heard from Grant post-show is he’s talking about this whole celibacy thing, so. Juliana just said in the podcast yesterday, it wasn’t true. So she’s basically saying, no, I did not have sex with him on the show. And yet people are insinuating that I are, and I’m getting called names because Latia brought this up.

If Latia brought that up and did say that, seemingly she did. I just don’t know the context. That was pretty shitty. And Juliana has every right to be mad at her for that. If Zoe did chime in and jump on board. Yeah, she should be mad at her too. But again, I, this is so much he said, she said at this point that we just, we don’t know if someone hates Juliana.

I guarantee their answer to that is, Steve, she’s lying. She just doesn’t want to admit it that she had sex with Grant on the show, which I don’t, we know people do, but Grant has talked about his celibacy journey. When he talked about his celibacy journey, it made it seem like if you backtrack his CE celibacy, Jo Celibacy journey, it included this show.

So I’m gonna say that I believe Juliana when she says that. I know people out there are gonna say no because they just hate her for whatever reason, and people can like and dislike people. But to have absolute hatred for somebody from a reality TV show and calling her the names that she should. That’s just idiotic.

Just like you shouldn’t be calling latia names. If she did say this about Juliana insinuated, they had sex without knowing for sure. You shouldn’t call Latia names. I think Latia is wrong for saying that, but I don’t think she’s a horrible person. I just think she misspoke and she shouldn’t have said that.

And if she did, maybe she apologize publicly for saying that Maybe she will after this interview comes out. I have no idea, but that. I can understand why Juliana has kind of been put off and doesn’t really talk about this show very much. If she did not have sex with Grant, which is in that interview yesterday, insinuated that she didn’t, and people, the other women on this show are outing her saying she did.

Well, that’s just shitty.

But

I don’t know who to believe. I tend to believe Juliana.

Because in addition to what Grant said about his celibacy journey, so the thing was I couldn’t go back and find out where Latia said this. If someone can find it and point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it. ’cause I’ll bring it up tomorrow. But I don’t know what she said and in what context and which interview it was.

I Googled it. I tried to find it. I didn’t find it. I might not have searched very hard. I just Googled Latia Juliana Podcast, sex Talk, and I, I just, I couldn’t come up with anything. I just kept coming up with the same articles that were from back in April where Juliana said she wasn’t happy with Latia and what she said about Juliana and Grant’s relationship, but nothing in regards to insinuating that Grant picked her because they had sex, which according to Juliana did not happen.

But hey, I would go listen to the interview if I were you. Make sure you have your finger close to the fast forward button when they have 1900 commercials during a one hour interview. Couple of things I want to end the podcast with. Did you see yesterday the report that Deal or No Deal Island is being canceled?

Yeah. They’re not bringing it back for a season three. The joke online is that Yeah, that’s because David, the winner of last year bankrupt them. By winning that, what did he win? Like $5.9 million or whatever the biggest prize in reality TV show history when he did what he did at the final in, in the temple.

I don’t know if that’s the reason, but. Looks to be more the ratings. It drew a 0.24 in the 18 to 49 demo, which was down from season one. But yeah, dealer, no Deal. Island is not being brought back for a third season. It’s not gonna be on NBC. I mean, maybe this is something. That gets pushed to a streaming service, so it might not be on NBC.

I don’t know if the producers of the show want it back so bad that maybe they’ll just say, Hey, we’ll just go exclusively on Peacock. There’s no talk about that yet, but it was just canceled yesterday, so I guess we’ll find out in the coming days or weeks if it’s done for good or whatever, they’re gonna try and pitch it to just a streaming service, which would, in assuming it stays in the NBC umbrella, would be on peacock.

I liked the show. I talked about it the day after it aired. Pretty much every time it was on. It was enjoyable. You knew my frustration with Dealer, no Deal Island, which was just the whole math behind it. There’s no skill involved whatsoever. Once you get to play against the banker, zero skill involved, it’s complete luck.

You can’t possibly know anything. Of what’s behind a certain case, and none of the challenges during the episode gave people an advantage to know any of the cases. So everybody talked like it was like a game of skill, and it’s just like, no, this is 100% luck. You just pick a number between one and 12 and hope that the case that you picked at the beginning was the case that had the most money in it and.

You did enough good picking during the game to get to the end to give yourself an opportunity to win money, either for yourself or to put in the pot. But there is, I’m sorry, there’s zero skill involved in picking cases. And finally, the reason I’m talking about Simon Cowell again is he’s got a series called Simon Cowell, the Next Act, which documents him creating a new boy band.

It’s premiering next week on Netflix, December 10th, so a week from today on Netflix. And so that’s why he’s making the rounds and doing interviews, and somebody asked him about Ryan Seacrest. And this is more from the New York Times interview that he did, but he was asked about Ryan Seacrest and. Was asked, you know, why is Seacrest everywhere?

You know, he’s got all these gigs, he’s got radio show, he’s got Wheel of Fortune, new Year’s, rock and Eve, all this stuff. And Simon said, I can’t really answer that one. He does work hard. He was very, very ambitious. I didn’t follow his career, so I don’t know what he’s done. We rarely talk. Now, he was very steely about his career, wanting to be famous.

This massive, massive desire about being, you know, very famous. Which I don’t think is a shot because I think Secrest has, I don’t think that’s a secret that Secrest has wanted to be famous and he’s good at what he does. I mean, this obviously that’s subjective, but in my eyes, I think he’s a great host at everything he does.

He’s just very smooth. He knows how to host a television show, whether it’s a Morning Talk show. A game show. He’s just very, very good at what he does. Then they also asked Simon about why he left Idle. He basically said it was ’cause of the age limitations. He said the rules were contestants could only be from 16 to 28-year-old, years old.

And his answer was, how can you say you can’t be a star? And I found the word idle, obnoxious, to be honest with you. And why isn’t a 30 5-year-old as great as an 18-year-old? I just got to the point where this is not real, which is why I moved on. Pretty much why he moved on to places like America’s Got Talent and he started the X Factor because there were no age limitations on those shows.

Remember that, and it’s kind of amazing now to look back on the fact that one of the seasons of the X Factor, the judges were Simon Cowell, LA Reed, Demi Lovato, and Britney Spears. Do you remember when Britney was an A judge on the X factor? I remember watching that and being like, this doesn’t, they got her for name value clearly, but Britney offered basically a giant donut to that show.

There’s just nothing there wasn’t compelling what she offered. She wasn’t a good judge, but she was cast as a judge because of her name at that time. And this was before, wasn’t it? This was before the head shaving incident. Man, I’m just, and the conservatorship, it had to be right. It was after all that is when things started going south for her.

Either way, go watch clips of the X Factor when Nee was the judge. And you can just tell she just seemed very, very uncomfortable in that role. And in an interview that Simon did, he basically said that. She had a hard time telling people no, which is understandable as an artist in the industry to basically kill somebody’s dreams and say, so, honey, you’re not good enough.

Or, sir, you’re not good enough. It’s not easy to do. It’s easy to do for Simon. It’s what made Simon successful. But someone like Brittany thrown into that role who was never a judge, probably anywhere in her life, and she has to tell people, sorry, you’re not good enough. I can understand why, but it showed on TV because she wasn’t good at telling people You’re not good.
