So earlier this summer. Naked Gun did a reboot with Liam Neeson playing the role of the original character.
Frank Drebin, his son, played by Leslie Nielsen and Pam Anderson played his love interest in the movie, and when they started doing media and the press junket for Naked Gun, there was rumors of a romance and. Pam Anderson came out yesterday and said, yeah, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while, but only after we finished filming.
So basically they finished filming, I believe earlier this year, and she said they spent an intimate week together at his upstate New York home. She said, I had my own room. Our assistants both came. Even family stopped by. They were for a week. They went out together. He introduced he, Liam introduced her as the future Ms.
Neeson. They worked in his garden and stuff. She said we were having fun. It felt a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film. I was always laughing when people thought, oh, that’s a publicity stunt. I’m like a publicity stunt. This is real. We have real feelings. And then after their week together, they both had to go on their separate ways and ’cause they each had different projects that they were working on.
She said she adore him, but we are better friends. In full honesty. He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me. I’m sure we will always be. In each other’s lives. Yeah, it definitely took me by surprise when they were doing press for Naked Gun. I had no idea these two were dating, but obviously, I guess neither did anybody else, because they basically had an intimate weekend out in the woods together and, well, not the woods, but you know, a secluded area to where nobody really knew.
But then they start doing press for the movie and we’re like, are these two together? And yeah, they were, she admitted yesterday, but. It’s over and they’re just really good friends. Now, by the way, if you didn’t go see it, I rewatched it again and it really was funny, like nothing’s gonna ever top the original naked gun from 1988.
Don’t ever think that this one doesn’t. But it was a lot better than I expected. I think any movie that literally tries to throw a joke in every 10 or 15 seconds, I’m 100% in on. You’re not gonna hit every joke when you’re throwing that many jokes in a 90 minute film. Or this woman, I think was like an hour and 20 minutes, like it’s really short, and they’re just firing off jokes after joke, after joke after joke.
It’s literally every one, every 15 seconds. You’re not gonna hit on all of them, but. The effort is worth it, and you’re gonna hit on more. The more you put in there, the better chance you have on hitting on them. So the last part of this podcast, I’m gonna be talking about technology things. First. I wanna start with Twitter.
I was thinking about this yesterday and we know how things change with time, right? You look back, I, I talk about it all the time with my niece and nephew. Because they’re growing up in completely different times than I did. There was no internet, nobody had cell phones, nobody had anything. Nobody had a computer.
If you had a computer back in the eighties, it was to basically do work on, or you had floppy discs that had some video games on it, but that was it. You had gaming systems like Atari and in television and ColecoVision. Those were the three big gaming systems back then. But. There was no social media. So you came home from school.
Yeah. You could watch tv, which I did a lot. But coming home from school and getting on your bike and going to the park and being outside and playing with your friends is obviously way more relevant, prevalent in the eighties and into the early nineties than it is now. I mean, we, you know, we’re talking about the iPad world that we live in now.
Just stick your kids in front of a computer, stick an iPad in front of ’em, and yeah, our social skills are diminishing for sure. But things change with time. I’m not gonna say it’s, you know, me being Gen X here or whatever I am, I always forget what generation I am. Or Boomer. Or I’m not a boomer, right? I’m a, I’m a Gen X guy, whatever.
But
I, I wouldn’t trade my childhood for anything. I think I would’ve liked to have grown up in the, in the time that I did. Seeing what’s going on now doesn’t mean this is, it was better back then. Some people will say it was, but everyone’s got their opinion. It doesn’t matter what my opinion is on, was it better to grow up in the eighties or grow up in 2025.
But things change and we change as people, we evolve as people, and something as small as Twitter. Remember when Twitter first came out and nobody really understood it? Like. We’re just posting our thoughts, like who cares what anyone has to say. Well, obviously Twitter is a pretty freaking big deal now, but the other thing I was thinking about was, remember when Twitter first came out, you were only allowed to type 140 characters, so you couldn’t get out really more than a couple sentences, and then when it went to 280 characters.
People were like, oh my gosh, you ruined Twitter. I don’t wanna read a paragraph from somebody. This is ridiculous. Boy, Twitter’s done. Just think about that take Now, could you imagine going back to 140 characters on Twitter? The fact that we even did that is like the same thing of looking back to the eighties and saying.
Can you believe we didn’t have cell phones or the internet in the eighties? We actually had to go to a library to look something up. It’s just, it’s just funny to think about. When I was on Twitter yesterday, I was like, oh my God. That’s right. There was a time where you could only type 140 characters and everyone was just doing a couple sentences at a time.
Now you can, I mean, you could technically go over 280. You could do a whole story on Twitter. It just has a basically to be continued button, but it just, I was thinking about that. I’m like, my gosh, what changes that we were basically wrong on? Because I think most of you, whether you are a huge fan of Twitter or not, I don’t think anybody that uses Twitter right now would say, yeah.
That was a bad change by them. I think we should go back to 140 characters because I just remember at the time people were appalled and saying it’s going to ruin Twitter because no one’s gonna wanna read a paragraph. And it’s like, how many extra seconds does it co, does it take to read 280 characters versus 140, I don’t know, five, seven seconds?
Like, is that how much we are. So stingy with our time now, like, oh, can’t possibly dedicate another five to seven seconds of reading. This podcast is brought to you by Zocdoc. Remember the doctor’s appointment you were supposed to make a while ago, the one that you meant to book, but you got sidetracked.

Zocdoc makes it easy to find the right doctor right now, and it’s all online. You’ll probably be able to book an appointment before the end of this ad.
You know me, I’ve been talking about this for a while now. I’m getting older. And I’m starting to go to the doctor more just for preventative measures. It’s great whether it’s, you know, the latest was the lower back pain that seems to have died down a bit, but it can be tough to get to the doctor. I wanna keep myself healthy, but the system makes it impossible to find the right doctor for my needs until I found Zocdoc.
They make it easy to find the right fit and book an appointment fast and directly on their website. Zocdoc is a free app and website where you can search and compare high quality in-network doctors and click to. Instantly book an appointment. That’s zoc doc.com. ZOCD c.com/reality. Steve zoc do.com/reality. Steve, speaking of technological updates, has anybody, if you have an iPhone, which by the way, I had a conversation with Rachel Juarez yesterday.
Rachel Juarez, by the way. I hate to ouch you here, Rachel, but if you’re an Android user, you’re basically a psychopath. And I mean that in the most respectful way ever. But come on, you are in the minority if you still have an Android and you haven’t switched over to an iPhone. Rachel Juarez is an Android person.
Everybody just wanted to throw that out there. But we were having this discussion and Rachel and I sent a lot of voice memos to each other and. The latest update that I did this weekend for the iPhone, I don’t know what it is, but when Rachel now sends me a voice memo, I see that she sent me a voice memo, but when I look at it, it says zero minutes and zero seconds.
And I know this is probably the most first world problem you can ever think of, but I’m sorry. When someone sends me a voice note, I wanna know what I’m in for. I wanna know how long their message is before I hit play. And I don’t, it’s only changed since the new update I hit play and I’m trying to figure out ways to see, but I’m looking at three voice memos she sent me last night, and all of them, I’m looking right.
Atem I, I mean, I’ve already listened to them. And they were pretty long in nature. I think one was six minutes and one was seven minutes. And I’m looking at it, and right now I’m looking at ’em and they say, zero minutes and zero seconds. And it’s bothering the hell outta me. Now somebody with an iPhone sends me a voice memo that hasn’t changed.
I see how long their voice memo is and then I hit play. But there’s something so unnerving about hitting play on a voice memo that you don’t know when it’s going to end. And you can say, well, Steve, doesn’t the voice memo thing move? Doesn’t the shade of the audio file move? No, it doesn’t. That’s the other thing that’s changed.
So I don’t know what’s going on, but man. This update is really different. If any of you have done it, I’m sure you’re still getting used to it. I’m still hitting the wrong buttons here and there, especially when I open up a new tab to look at the internet. That’s a little, my bookmarks are in a different place now.
When I screenshot something and wanna save it, it’s on the right hand side instead of the left hand side. Now, ugh, like, like I said, talk about Steve. Give me things I could care less about for 200. I’m just telling you. I’m just telling you like it’s really bothering me. This new update, and especially when it comes to voice memos from someone with an Android.
I think Rachel’s the only person in my life that has an Android. I’d have to go through my text. Maybe I’ll, I’ll give you an answer tomorrow, but I’m pretty sure that she’s the only person in my life that sends me voice memos or even has an Android, even her texts, just the fact that she’s the only person who sends me texts that come through green.
But yeah. And by the way, of all the messages that Rachel and I sent back and forth to each other, I sent her a three minute and 29 second voice memo and a three minute and 51 second voice memo. None of ’em had anything to do. With Clayton or Laura Owens. This is strictly sports related, if you can believe it or not.
And finally, a few of you reached out to me yesterday after my podcast in regards to those Christmas bags that I was talking about. It’ll be a lot easier for me to show you visually tomorrow night. So I don’t know if the people who emailed me are Patreon subscribers or not, but if you want to see one of these things in action before you try and find them online.
I can, I will be showing them on the Patreon tomorrow night before we start the live rewatch of Back to the Future too. Again, I don’t have any answers as to, I mean, I purchased it off TikTok. I saw it on TikTok and I purchased it. I don’t know. If and when I purchased it, like I said, it took three or four weeks to get here.
Now they gave me a tracking number and it was coming from some country that I, I don’t even remember the, the country of origin, but I’m like, these bags could be made easily at Dollar General or the Dollar Store. So I, I, I don’t even remember what I paid for them, but they gave you a, it’s like 50 bags.
Large, medium, small and like almost extra small. Like for gift cards that you can put. You can put in these if you want, but for people who don’t wanna wrap and don’t want to have to get out a scissor and a ruler and scotch tape and spend all this time racking wrapping gifts, I’m telling you this is going to save you hours and it’s Christmas-y stuff.
You know, this is not stuff that looks cheap, looks nice. It’s got ribbon at the top of the bag. All you do is pull the ribbons out and then just tie it, and that’s it. That’s all you gotta do. And your gift is in the bag. So I wish I could get an answer. Maybe I’ll look into, because I, again, if you have to order it off TikTok and it’s coming from a different country.
Well, today is December 10th. I don’t know if you’re getting it in two weeks, and even if you get it in two weeks, that’s arriving on Christmas Eve. So I’m just telling you for next year, get it. They’ve, they’ve gotta be sold in the States, right? This is not some invention that only people overseas came up with, but I, I don’t know where they’re selling them in the States.
I, I apologize to anybody who messaged me yesterday and said, where can I get them? I don’t really know. I don’t wanna send you to TikTok because it’s gonna take more than two weeks for you to get it. Anyway, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcast. Also, rate and review, but you gotta hit play.
It’s the only way it counts as a download. Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now, so we’ll check that out. Again, thank you all for listening. I appreciate it. And I’ll talk to you tomorrow. See?
