Okay, this is a sports related note, but. It’s also pop culture related because as we know, Taylor Swift is engaged to Travis Kelsey and the Kansas City Chiefs are probably the most talked about team in the NFL because they have Patrick Mahomes, they have Travis Kelsey, and they’ve been to the Super Bowl the last three years, winning two years ago or winning three years ago, winning two years ago, and then losing last year.
Last season, earlier this calendar year, but for the first time in 10 seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs will not be in the playoffs this year because they lost again yesterday. And Patrick Mahomes, their quarterback, blew out his ACL torn ACL, clearly out for the rest of this year, and it’s basically eight months.
It’s about eight and a half months before next season starts, so it is possible Mahomes will be ready because people come back now a little bit earlier from ACL surgery than they did in years past, but he’s got a full eight and a half months before Kansas City’s next game, or no, before Kansas City’s first game next season.
So it’s something to keep an eye on, but what interests me is. A lot of people, even Travis himself on his podcast and just talking about it age-wise and all that, is Travis Kel going to retire after this season? I think Patrick Mahomes getting hurt could play a role because Travis Kelsey has really just, his career has flourished with Patrick Mahomes as his quarterback.
And look, Travis has definitely lost a step. Anybody that’s watched football knows this. He’s still the leading receiver on the Chiefs this year, but he’s certainly lost a step. He’s not the dominant tight end that he once was. He’s still top three tight end in the history of the NFL. Some will argue he’s the greatest tight end in NFL history, but what’s interesting to me is with his off season now and him getting married this off season seemingly and Patrick Mahomes, we don’t know when he’s gonna be ready for next season.
Does Travis Kel only have three games left in his career? Is this gonna be it? They have three games left. They don’t mean anything because they can’t make the playoffs. There’s a part of me that thinks Travis Kel is done and this will be his last season and he’s gonna retire at the end of this season.
But there’s also a part of me that’s like Travis Kel has only known success since he’s been in the NFL. He’s only known success. All he is done is win. Last seven years, they’ve been to at least the A FC Championship. They’ve been to five Super Bowls during those seven years, they’ve been to the playoffs 10 years in a row.
Can Travis Kel really call it quits and hang it up after a season where the chiefs don’t even make the playoffs and basically are in nothing towards the end of this season? I don’t have much to play for other than pride these last three games. Is that the season that Travis Kel wants to go out on? I don’t know, competitive guy?
Maybe he waits all off season and maybe he follows Patrick Mahomes Rehab and if Mahomes can make it back, at least in the beginning of next season, and he sees what the Chiefs do in the off season, maybe he declares in July. Hey, I’m coming back. I don’t think he needs to make an ans to give an answer right away.
Let him sit on it. But I don’t know, I, it’s 50 50 to me whether he comes back because I can see him coming back for one more season. ’cause who wants to go out this way? Not even making the playoffs, we’ll wait and see. Speaking of Kelsey Swift engagement. Mrs. Taylor, Allison Swift had her documentary come out on Disney Plus on Friday first two episodes of the end of the ERAS tour documentary, and I thought they were excellent.
It got the weekend off to at least a positive start for me because everything about those two episodes was positive. Anybody trying to shoot down those episodes or anybody trying to. Find some sort of angle that has to do with trials and stuff. Seriously, go get a life. Honestly, you cannot watch those first two episodes and not think this is an incredible woman who deserves everything that she’s ever gotten.
Not to mention. I understand everyone want, everyone that’s a Taylor fan was excited for this. And everybody that’s a Taylor fan wants everything in her documentary to be all about Taylor. I wanna see her when she’s driving to the arena, when she’s driving home, when she’s taking a bath at night, when she’s talking to Travis.
Everything. Taylor, Taylor, Taylor, Taylor, I’m sorry, but with six episodes, you gotta have to focus on some other things as well. There was plenty of Taylor stuff in there, but I did see some discourse online about I don’t care about her backup dancers. I don’t wanna know about them. Just show me more.
Taylor. To that, I say, I think you should open your eyes a little bit more because I found the stuff about the backup dancers incredibly interesting. She is somebody that has always been about promoting other people around her, and to give time in her documentary. At least in the first two episodes to three or four backup dancers.
I think that’s incredibly generous of her, and it shows who she is. We’ve known since last year that she had given out $197 million in bonuses, but to actually see the footage of her dancers getting that bonus check and a handwritten letter, she hand writes letters, who even writes anymore with a pen?
Who even writes letters anymore? Anybody. And if you do, it’s maybe one every couple months she hand writes letters to everybody that she gives a bonus to. The only thing wrong with that is I got to see how Taylor Swift holds a pen. Us normal human beings hold a pen between our index thinker and our thumb.
She holds it between. Her index finger and her middle finger. Now if you hold a pen that way you can still write. It’s not totally bizarre, but I guess I never knew this about Taylor. I didn’t know that’s the way she held a pen. I don’t know. It’s just a little bit odd. But she can do no wrong other than hold a pen.
What does she have an Android too? Please don’t tell me she has an Android phone. Really. I have to call her a psychopath, but go watch those for, even if you’re not a huge Taylor Swift fan and maybe you’re just wondering what is all the hype around this woman? Go watch those first two episodes and then go watch episodes three and four, which come out this Friday, and then five and six, which come out next Friday.
I’m sure they’re gonna be excellent too, but I found it so refreshing to watch that and watch her and. To see. We all knew the ERA’S tour was a big deal, but to see it now behind the scenes on how big of a deal it was and adding a whole new set because she released Tortured Poet Society during the tour and then she added that to the show, had to do secret rehearsals.
The lengths they go to to keep things secret, watching rehearsals. Seeing how I, I find that whole thing fascinating. I loved it. I thought it was excellent. Got us off to a great start to the weekend. Just a lot of positivity in those first two episodes and then all fucking hell went to everything Went to hell this weekend around the world.
So I’m just gonna try and stick with the positive and that is Taylor Swift and what she does and. The fact that she, we got to see a little behind the scenes about, remember she had to cancel three dates in Austria because there was a terrorist threat, and then there was a little girl who died due to a stabbing before one of her shows, and we get to see the behind the scenes of that and how much she was affected by it.
She is, she’s an incredible, incredible individual. It’s just no other way around it. She deserves everything that she gets. Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it.
