Daily Roundup 12/18 – Yesterday’s Bachelorette Mishap on Social Media, A Message I Received, & Thoughts on the Survivor Finale – Winner, Final Immunity Challenge, Social Media & More

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Thursday. Well, we had a little bit of a mishap yesterday. We’ll go over it in regards to Taylor, Frankie Paul’s season, and then I’m gonna talk Survivor Finale.

There is no Thursday weekly podcast because it’s being postponed today. I’m recording with Stephen Fishback this afternoon. Patreon subscribers. You get it right after I record it. It goes up on the Patreon channel, patreon.com/reality, Steve. And we’ve got another live rewatch happening today at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

We’re gonna watch two episodes of Saved by the Bell. They are the two episodes where Kelly dumped Zach for Jeff, and then subsequently Jeff cheated on Kelly after that. What a bad dude, but. There’s a lot to, there’s a lot to digest about these two episodes because it’s just so random. So let’s get started.

Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least. As we know, they are filming, they’re down to the last couple days of filming the bachelorette finale in St. Lucia. And during that, we know that one of them. Is Doug Mason. We know one of the two guys is Doug Mason. One of the other two is either Shane Parton or Lou Evans.

That’s what we’re waiting to find out. Nobody has seen to seen either of them down there or has a picture of either of them down there. That doesn’t mean they’re not down there. It just means that they just, for whatever reason, Doug’s the one that keeps constantly being seen and Shane and Lou just haven’t been seen as of yet.

But yesterday I got a message from somebody at the Secrets Resort in St. Lucia and they basically told me that they overheard, they, well, not they overheard. They were in the lobby of the Secrets Resort in SPY yesterday, and Doug was in the lobby with production. So I get this message about 7 45 in the morning.

Yesterday, my time and basically said was three feet away from Doug in the lobby. He was with production, he was with camera people, and that’s absolutely him. And I sent her the picture of Doug just to make sure, like, Hey, is this the guy you saw? Yes. Then about, let’s see. I don’t know. Three hours later?

Yeah, about two and a half hours later, she sends me the pictures that I originally posted yesterday of a guy walking with production and the message says, this tall fellow just walked to the pier with two of the same producers that were with Doug earlier. He just walked to the pier. And it was a picture of a guy from the back, a little bit from the side, but mostly from the back.

But the message said this tall fellow just walked to the pier with two of the same producers that were with Doug earlier. And my first response to her was, geez, I thought that was Doug. And this person said, it’s not Doug. Looks like his model pictures still. And this guy is way taller. And I said, well, obviously that’s not Shane and it’s not Lou.

So this person who just saw Doug two hours earlier and was in the lobby with him, overhearing him, talk about his time on the show, tells me that’s not Doug. And I’m like, okay, yeah. I don’t have these guys’ faces memorized yet. And somebody that had just seen him two hours earlier sees somebody else walking with production and says, it’s not Doug.

Even though I was like, isn’t that Doug? So I took, obviously, I don’t just immediately go, okay, well that must, that must be, that must be Dakota. I sent this, those pictures to three different people and all three different people came back to me and said, that looks like Dakota to me. So I went with it. It ended up being wrong.

It wasn’t Dakota, it was Doug, because I ended up about, I don’t know, maybe about 15 minutes after I took my post down, someone sends me a picture of Doug in the same outfit that the guy who I posted the pictures of walking, but it was a clear picture of his face and I was like, oh, well that’s Doug. So yeah, I mean.

And again, I, I’m certainly not blaming this person who told me this. I, you know, they’re not, they told me they weren’t huge fans of the show. They don’t watch the show. But it had nothing to do with the show. It was just, you saw Doug in the lobby speaking with production, and you told me you were three feet away from him.

And then two and a half hours later you take pictures of a guy walking and you said, that’s not Doug. I’m like, so immediately I’m taking their word for it, even though I initially thought it was Doug. So then I’m like, well, it’s not Doug. It’s not Shane, it’s not Lou. It kind of looks like Dakota. And even though again, I don’t watch Secret Lives of Mormon wives, I went on Dakota’s Instagram page and I was like, I can see where this could be Dakota.

Plus everybody is calling Doug Dakota. They’re calling him Doug Coda. So it’s not like it’s totally far off right. Anyway. What it comes down to is I initially reported, Hey, Dakota’s out in St. Lucia. We don’t know why he’s there. Obviously it ended up being wrong ’cause it wasn’t Dakota. It’s Doug in that picture, and I’ve got a picture of Doug’s face in that outfit that was like literally sent to me like 10 or 15 minutes after I had taken all my my posts out, took it off Instagram, took it off Instagram story, took it off my TikTok as well.

Because I don’t want it out there anymore. What’s funny is Dakota started following me yesterday on Instagram, so I messaged him. My message was very simple, my bad, stop looking so much like Doug. I deleted everything and Dakota’s response to me was, Hey man, don’t even worry about it. I feel that was an easy one to mix up.

That was the end of that. So just wanted to get that out there. That. Because, yeah, I don’t, obviously I don’t wanna screw something like that up, but when I make a mistake, I’m not, I’m just gonna delete it and just be like, okay, this is what happened. But yeah, again, I don’t blame the person who sent me the picture and said, that’s not Doug that I’m sending you pictures of.

When it ended up being Doug, it’s not their fault. Like I said, I didn’t just take their word for it, immediately run with it. I sent it to three different people and all three of those people told me, I really think that’s Dakota. You can see the hairline and all this stuff. I’m like. I guess I can see it.

I don’t watch Secret Lives. I don’t know him well enough. Just by visuals. Do you think it’s Dakota? And they’re like, yeah, I think it is. So that’s what made me post it. It ended up not being Dakota. Okay. It’s not. I apologize to Dakota. He said, don’t worry about it. That was his exact answer. Don’t even worry about it, dude.

I feel like that was an easy one to mix up.

And that was that. So we still only know that Doug. And you know, it’s funny, I was talking about it yesterday on the podcast. Doug is going to have to listen to all that. Doug Codas once he gets off this show, if she picks him. If she doesn’t, then I guess he doesn’t have to worry about it, but. She certainly seems to have a type, because if you look at Doug and you look at Dakota, they’re not that far off.

Are they identical twins? No. But you can see with the hair and the beard for both of them, you could see why one would get them mixed up, but. He’s gonna have to deal with that. I mean, the whole thing about moving to Utah and being an immediate step dad to three different kids three kids from two different men, I, I just, again, I, I, I’m not buying any of the guys really being interested in this, but not only those two things, but now he has to want to continue being on camera, which, if she does pick Doug, I’d say.

Probably something he’s up for. But is any guy gonna be really cool? And after a while just be like, all right, the Doug Coda stuff, or Dakota 2.0, which is what people are calling him all over the internet since I posted he was in the final two. Yeah, that’s gonna get under a guy’s skin at some point. I’m just saying.
