Daily Roundup 12/23 – A Tease about one of Taylor’s Men, Patreon Update, a Sad Story from BB 27 World, a Challenge/Big Brother Collab, & Melora Hardin Talks About “Back to the Future”

Really sad story coming outta Big Brother 27.

Yesterday we found out that Mickey Lee, we remember her, she, I think she was eliminated right before the jury house, right? She was the last elimination. A last eviction before jury. Anyway, uh, she is in critical condition after suffering a series of cardiac arrests. It was all over social media yesterday.

Her friends and family, uh, put out a GoFundMe page for her, and it says, today we’re coming together with heavy hearts to ask for your support. Mickey recently suffered a series of cardiac arrests and is now in the ICU in critical but stable condition. She has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road will be long and challenging.

Uh, they’re asking for donations because, uh, the emergency has left them having enormous emotional and financial strain from the mounting hospital bells to ongoing care and recovery costs. Now, at the time of this recording. They have raised $18,250 through 444 donations, which is great. They were asking for 22,000.

I’m guessing they will hit 22 and then they’ll raise it again, is my guest. But this is, I mean, that’s awful news. A series of cardiac arrests that is, that’s rough. So critical, but stable condition, but. They, the funds that they’re raising are gonna support the medical expenses not covered by insurance, ICU and specialist care, rehab and recovery support, and family travel, lodging, and related costs.

So donate if you can. I’m not gonna read the GoFundMe link because it’s just a bunch of letters and numbers or whatever, but if you Google Mickey Lee GoFundMe or. Mickey Lee hospitalized. Every story, every outlet that covered this yesterday at some point in their story will have a link to her GoFundMe page so you can get it there.

Very easy to do, um, whether you liked her character or not. Whether you liked her on the show or not, it does not matter. This is real life versus what you saw on an edited TV show, so my gosh. You know, I know I could, I saw a lot of people already, Ashley Morgan, Rachel Riley, already posting stuff about Mickey.

Almost everybody in that cast has, I don’t follow all of them, but when I manually went to search for a lot of ’em, most had posted about Mickey. So, yeah. Um, if you can donate anything, you can, any amount of, uh, of dollars, we’ll do, I’m sure the family would appreciate it. The other thing to come out of challenge Season 27, and this is just so random, but I’m happy for them.

So Big Brother 27 competitor and reality TV Veteran. We know her. We love her. Two time or three time podcast guest on the Reality. Steve Podcast, Rachel Riley is. Going to be in a movie with Karara Maria from The Challenge. They’re starring together in a holiday rom-com movie, and it starts filming January 10th of next year.

They will play fictionalized versions of themselves in the upcoming film Missile toe Mansion, which I’m assuming will be released around Christmas time next year. The tagline goes, or the, the trailer for this, or the description of it goes. The meta romantic comedy takes place within a fake reality TV show called The 12 Dates of Christmas Car.

Maria and Rachel Riley will star as the hosts who disagree on the creative direction of the season when the Bachelorette Ava Cleary develops unexpected feelings for her talent handler, Luke Shepherd. According to the official description, Carra Maria’s character is drama seeking and pushes for a traditional reality TV ending.

Whereas Riley’s host is more romantically inclined and pushes for Ava to follow her heart instead. And then I believe I saw on Rachel Riley’s Instagram, she posted a link to where you can actually become like an extra or a cast member of this movie. So if you go to Rachel Riley. Viegas on Instagram. Go to her Instagram story.

’cause I believe she has a link to it where you can actually be a part of this if you, I don’t even know where they’re filming this thing. Whatever, but good for them. Gonna be in a Christmas movie coming out next year. Rachel Riley and Car Maria. Just kind of random, but then when I read the story a little bit further, apparently the person who wrote this or the director.

Wr. It’s written and directed by Candy Candace. Candy Kain. That’s a real name. Candy Kain. Okay. Uh, she wrote a jar full of Christmas and a holiday. Homecoming. Well, I didn’t know this, but Car Maria was on. She was in. K Kane’s previous projects, including a jar full of Christmas and the TV series. Welcome to Hope.

I didn’t know Car Maria did acting. I had no idea, but we got that story as well. And then of course, wanted to throw it back to the future story at you because this was on US Weekly yesterday because Malo Hardin from the office who played Jan Michael’s love interest. She did an interview with Entertainment Weekly yesterday, and I’ve talked about this when I’ve been, when I was over, when I was in my back to the future phase and I said, you know, Malo Hardin was originally cast as Michael J, or excuse me, was originally cast as Marty Mcflys girlfriend when Eric Stoltz was playing the role of Marty McFly.

And if you remember when I had Brad Gilmore on the podcast, I said, isn’t it weird that we have this silent footage? We do have photos and videos of Eric Stoltz filming certain scenes of Back to the Future, but there’s no sound to any of it. It’s out there on the internet. Just Google, Eric Stoltz back to the future if you wanna see some of the scenes that he shot.

But there’s no sound to it. And then when we found out Malo Hardin was cast originally as Jan, we were like, wait, did she shoot with Eric Stoltz? She must have, right? Because she’s not in any of the footage that’s out there online. Anyway, she talked about it and she said, yeah, I shot for six weeks with him.

And for those that don’t know the reason, once Eric Stoltz was replaced by Michael J. Fox in the movie. Malo Harden is taller than Michael J. Fox, and they felt like in 1985 that wasn’t gonna fly. They didn’t want Michael J. Fox. Who played the role of Marni McFly. They didn’t want his girlfriend to be taller than him in the movie, so Malore Hardin was basically fired for no other reason than she was too tall.

Had nothing to do with her acting, but she talked about the fact that, yeah, it was pretty tough on me. I was 17 years old and I got this gig, which I thought was gonna be a really good launching for my career. This was like a big role for me, my first big movie role, and I basically got fired for something completely outta my control, which was my height.

It was two female executives at the time that thought it was emasculating for their lead character to be in scenes with a woman that was taller than him. This was the mindset in 1985, but she said if I had done it, I’m sure I would’ve gone in a different direction with my career and she probably wouldn’t have done the office.

So obviously things worked out for her for sure. But yeah, she talked about it and she’s like, yeah, I cried myself to sleep. I was 17 years old and I lost a role because I was too tall. And she said I cried a lot, but, and it was also very tough on her. But yeah, she did that interview with, uh, with Entertainment Weekly and, and she discussed it.

Michael J. Fox discussed it in his book, his two, his memoir that came out this year, future Boy. And you know, obviously it wasn’t his call, it was just, you know. They were getting, I mean, the director Steven Spielberg and Bob Gale and Bob Zuki just weren’t feeling Eric Stoltz in the role as Marty McFly.

Apparently he was method acting and he wasn’t humorous enough for the role. He was taking it too serious. And if you’ve obviously seen back to the future, you know, it’s very lighthearted. Marty McFly, some really great one-liners and that guess it just wasn’t hitting with Eric Stoltz and three quarters of the way through filming the movie, they said we gotta replace him.

And they re-shot everything with Michael J. Fox coming on set and he was filming family Ties at the time. So he would film family ties during the day and then he would get a couple hours sleep and then go film back to the future at night. Like it’s amazing what he was able to pull off filming both the TV show and this movie at the same time.
