Daily Roundup 12/25 – Some Details About the Fan Appreciation Party Next Year, & More on the Grant/Doug Discussion From Yesterday

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality Sea Podcast. I’m your host Reality Sea. Thank you all for tuning in on this Christmas Day. Merry Christmas everybody. Thank you all for tuning in. I really appreciate it. Just a really quick 10, 12 minute episode for you here today to go over a couple things.

What I posted yesterday, something about the Vegas fan appreciation party, and maybe one other note and we will get to all that momentarily. So in case you missed it in the reader email section, yesterday, somebody had asked about next year’s fan appreciation party. They had asked when is it going to be, and.

The party has always been the first weekend in June, outside of last year’s party, because when I looked ahead the previous year and I saw that my birthday, my 50th birthday happened to fall on a Saturday, I’m just like, let’s just do it on my birthday and make it into a 50th birthday celebration slash fan appreciation party.

So it was on Saturday last year, and it’ll probably be moving to Saturdays for all the years going forward. I really do think. The plan is the party’s going to be on June 6th, however, it’s not set in stone yet, so obviously you can book a hotel and cancel a hotel without any sort of fees, I believe. Can’t you?

I I only say this because I don’t. Pay for my hotels in Las Vegas. I’ve been lucky enough to have casino hosts at the hotels that I stay in and they gimme a room. So I don’t know. When you book a room, as far as I know, I think you just book a room. Maybe some require first night deposit, I don’t know. But you get it back.

If you do cancel, you have the ability to cancel, I think, up to 72 hours. So if people wanna book their room wherever they choose to stay. For the weekend of June 6th. I wouldn’t say don’t only, only if you, unless if you cancel, you don’t get your money back, then definitely don’t book it. But basically how it’s gonna work this year is, it’s the same as last year.

The party is going to be pretty much the same as it always been. There’s going to be an open beer and wine bar for the full four hours, and we’re gonna have food there as well. But as I said, at the end of last year’s party, and I’ve, I’ve mentioned a couple times, I do have to charge now for the party this year just because this, to do the party that I want, it’s just becoming really, really expensive out there.

And I’m not gonna change the location ’cause I love being out there, but they just want so much, uh, out there. And it’s just the way va, it’s what Vegas has turned into now. So, um, it’s gonna be $40 a person. In the past, your confirmation to the party if you were flying in was a flight itinerary. If you were driving in just a hotel booking.

But this year you will be confirmed once you make a payment. Uh, $40 per person in your party and that’ll officially get you on, uh, the list. And obviously I know stuff comes up and there might be emergencies where people have to cancel. Uh, I really don’t want to have to refund a ton of people. So really, I would say only put your down payment and buy your ticket if you really do plan on coming.

I’m not saying I’m not gonna give people their money back, I will. I’m just saying I would really hope that this year ’cause a lot of people in the past, I’ll, I’ll be honest ’cause I usually announce it in January officially. And a lot of people immediately, you know, book something and just ’cause they wanna be on the list and they don’t want to get beat out.

But then. I find out, you know, a month later or a month beforehand, they’re like, oh, I can’t make it anymore, and I’m not gonna sit here and grill people as to why they can’t make it. I just have always gotten the sense that people want to get on the list immediately because there’s no, I mean, what is the, what is the negative about getting on the list immediately and then canceling later on?

There’s no penalty for it. It for me. It holds up spots for people who might actually be willing to go either way. This year’s just gonna be a little bit different in that you’re not officially on the list until you make your $40 per person payment for the party, which is going to allow for the four hour open beer and wine bar and, uh, the food that we serve at the party.

So I’m looking forward to it. Again, I want it to be June 6th. It’s just not officially locked in. You will know when it’s locked in. I’ll have a video on my social media channels and I’ll be talking about it, uh, on my podcast as well.
