Other thing I wanted to talk about was yesterday’s podcast, the weekly podcast, and what I put out on my socials in regards to one of Taylor Frankie Paul’s men, Doug Mason, again, for the two days leading up to it where I said, Hey, I’ve got something on one of her men.
I also told you this is public. I’m not breaking any news here. I wasn’t going through police records and finding out, and I was telling you constantly nonstop like, this isn’t something bad. This isn’t, oh my gosh, this guy cheated on his ex-girlfriend, or he’s currently cheating on a girlfriend, or he was sleeping with somebody the night before he left for Taylor.
Frankie Paul’s season, or his ex-girlfriend drove him to the airport, or he’s been arrested for a misdemeanor or a restraining order, or sa, whatever the case may be. I laid it out there. I said, look, it’s not a huge deal. The whole point about the Doug Mason stuff and Doug being a res uh, a, um, aspiring r and b artist was all this is, is I’m just curious about how the audience is going to respond to this.
Because we had a re a r and b artist who put out music, didn’t even put out a video, just put out a song last year during his season of the Bachelor Grant Ellis and. I never understood the amount of hate that he got for it. I thought it was completely out of line. You might not let see, the thing is some people are saying like, oh, well his music wasn’t any good.
Or after they watched Doug’s video yesterday, if he went into his YouTube channel and watched his video, it has nothing to do with whether or not Grant is a better r and b artist than Doug or Doug is a better r and b artist as Grant. No. What I’m trying to gauge here is we all know how many people were so vocal about Grant Ellis putting out a song and trying to be an r and b singer, and somehow that meant that he wasn’t taking it seriously and he was never in it, and he was never gonna last with anybody.
’cause all he wanted to do was get some clout. And it was just, it, it, it crossed a line of, at least in my eyes, from everything that I saw. It crossed a line of, oh, this is just a silly hobby to this guy sucks. And the hate that came his way for it. And I’m just wondering if Doug’s gonna get the same exact reaction because he’s literally doing the same thing that Grant did, which is which I had the same take with Grant that I do with Doug.
It’s not a big deal that they’re putting in, that they’re an r and b artist. I don’t care. Doug’s a model. He’s a. He’s dabbled in some small acting bits, but, and now he’s a, he’s also a aspiring r and B artist, which is fine, just like Grant was fine. And I never understood the hate that Grant got for what he did.
And I’m just, I mean, I think I know the answer. I just think that people are gonna look at what Doug’s doing and. Kind of brush it off as more, oh, it’s just, he’s having fun. It’s more silly and it’s just a little hobby of his. It’s like, okay, but why couldn’t that have been the take about Grant? Whether he liked what Grant did or not.
He liked to do. He liked to sing. He liked to do some music in his spare time. That’s no different than Doug yet. Grant is completely hated for, it still is to this day. I’ve just never understood that. Yes, there are other things people didn’t like Grant for, but I’m only specifically talking about the music aspect of it.
Doug has every right to go make music. I don’t care. The song’s kind of catchy and it’s stuck in my head, you know? Like I said, I’m not gonna download it. I don’t think this guy’s gonna be topping any charts anytime soon, but I’m not gonna yuck his yum for making music. If he wants to make music, go make music.
I just know. What we got from the fan base in regards to Grant last year. And when I look at Doug, I see a very attractive white guy that might be the one that Taylor, Frankie Paul ends up with. And in my mind, I think he’s gonna get treated differently. I think it will be more brushed off as this is a silly little hobby of his versus hate.
That Grant got when it was a hobby that Grant did, which was like to make music on the side. I just wanna see how this goes. And that’s the only reason I brought it up. And like I said, he’s got a public YouTube channel for two months. Nobody’s even talked about this, that I know. I never saw it on any account, any Instagram account, any TikTok account.
Nobody put it out there. And it said, like I said, it’s not like I had to go searching for this. Somebody just told me why would I ever, why would I even go looking for something like this? Somebody just told me, Hey, did you know that Doug guy’s got a YouTube channel? And he played and he makes music. On his YouTube channel, he is got eight subscribers.
He’s got five songs where you just hear the audio and he’s got two videos and it’s just like, okay, I’m fine with that. This was never some major, major tea that I had, nor did I even present it as that. I was just like, Hey. Here it is. I’m really curious to see how the audience reacts to this, because Doug is obviously a major player on Taylor, Frankie Paul’s season.
There’s a 50 50 shot. He’s engaged to Taylor, Frankie Paul right now, or at least with her ’cause we know he’s in the final two. So yeah, he’s relevant. So this is relevant. That’s why the story is out there. And I just found it really, really interesting. Some of the reaction that I did get. Was just like, but he’s, we already know.
We already know this about him. I was like, you did. I haven’t seen this anywhere. Well, he’s a model. I’m not talking about him being a model. I’m not talking about him having any acting gigs. I’m talking about the fact that he is an aspiring r and b artist, which is exactly what Grant kind of presented himself as.
That he liked to do music on the side and he was hated for it. So I’m just saying anybody who had that hatred towards grant. I’m not saying you have to have hatred toward Doug or I, I want you to hate Doug. I’m just saying if you don’t have the same exact energy towards Doug that you did, grant, I guess my question is why they’re doing the same thing.
