And finally, did you see the whole Powerball thing? $1.817 billion a winner, single winner in Arkansas. On Christmas Eve one, 1.817 billion, not million, billion. The numbers were 4 25, 31 52 59, and the Powerball was 19. So I’m not really a lottery player. I’ve probably played it less than 10 times in my life.
Just never been a lottery player. But on big pots, I like reading what the numbers are to be like, well, if I played, would I have played any of those numbers? Well, four is the month that my mother and my nephew were born in, so that’s a number that I probably would’ve played. 31 I obviously would’ve played because that is my birthdate.
25, eh, probably not. And then 52 and 59. No, I, I play. The Powerball so infrequently. I don’t even know how many numbers there are. Is it 60? Is it 75? I don’t even know. I know you have to do five numbers and then a Powerball number. I, I get that. So with these winning numbers, I probably would’ve hit two of them.
Four and 31. And you know, I, again, this is, you know what the odds are on these things. There’s, that’s why it’s so ridiculous. That’s why not a lot of people ever win, but 1.8 billion, can you imagine winning 1.8 billion? It comes with a cash option of 834.9 million. So I’m assuming that’s with all the taxes taken out, you don’t get, you can’t take the cash option and then just pay taxes on that.
Right, because why are they telling you it’s a $1.8 billion pot? Wouldn’t you? Just like at 1.8 billion. Let’s just say you asked for the one lump sum, what would you do? Just pay 800 million in taxes and take 1 billion, or even if you give ’em 50%, 900 billion, 900 million in taxes and take 900 million. No, so 900, yeah, 900 million plus 900 million is 1.8 billion, right?
Yeah. So. I mean, if they said, yeah, if you wanna take 1.8 billion lump sum, Steve, go ahead. I’ll be like, fine, I’ll pay 50%. If they asked me to pay 60% in taxes, fine. So I only collect $800 million. Yeah, I think I’ll be fine. I, I honestly don’t even know what I would do with money like that. Obviously I would invest a ton, stash a ton away, help a ton of people.
Family, friends, I would obviously just settle everything that I need to settle in my life. And, I don’t know, maybe take a Vegas trip or 10, no, I would never, I don’t think I’d even be able to go crazy gambling wise with that much money because I mean, I, I don’t know. Put it this way, Vegas would want me to come out there.
They’d be sending, they would literally be sending a private jet to my front door. That’s exactly who they want coming out there. People that have hundreds of millions of dollars. But yeah, I, I just, at that point, I don’t even know if gambling would be interesting. Uh, gambling wouldn’t be fun to me if I had $800 million in the bank.
I don’t even, I don’t think I would get any sort of. Rush out of it. Right? Really? How could I, oh, I lost 50 grand. Okay, great. I lost a hundred grand. Great. I won 500 grand. Great. I just ha, I have 800 million in the bank. What do I care? You know? But I would definitely take care of all family and friends.
Invest, donate. I, I, I, I just wouldn’t like splurge on myself. That just wouldn’t even really be something I’d be totally even interested, interested in doing, honestly. And I’d probably also keep it private because the amount of people that would come outta the woodwork if it was announced that Steve Carbone won the Powerball and $1.8 billion, I mean, you can only imagine how many people are hitting you up on your phone.
And the thing with me. Is I would help probably every single one of them out. I really would. I’m not just saying that, but I wouldn’t want it public that I won. I would do it privately. Anyway.
