Daily Roundup 1/26 – Latest Events from this Weekend, Traitors Drama Online from their Own IG Account, & the Netflix Event That Gave Everyone an Anxiety Attack

The other thing regarding the traders came out after we recorded the podcast or redid the live on Friday, and we did the live recap.

Was this the trader’s Instagram account? Did you see what they posted? It was literally right out of the Bachelor Bachelorette playbook when we get into the middle of the season and the social media trolls just have a field day with the contestants. So the Traders US Instagram account posted this Saturday afternoon.

We are committed to making our casts feel safe, respected, and supported onscreen and off the cast of the traders are real people, and what happens in the game should never lead to cyber bullying or harassment. There’s a difference between discussing a show and targeting individuals. Let’s not ruin the passion for this show with unwarranted negativity and personal attacks.

We appreciate your support. I am sorry traitor’s Instagram account, but that post absolutely misses the whole fucking point. ’cause you’re telling us, Hey, don’t attack people who were on our show. Talk about the game, but don’t make it targeting individuals. Two things here. Number one, the reason the traders put that out is clearly because Colton is struggling with the backlash because there’s no other person on the traders this season.

I believe that is getting backlash from social media as bad as Co Colton has. I don’t think Ron is. Ron got it. From the people in the game. This is addressing, Hey, everyone that watches our show, be cool. Don’t cyber bully or harass. I can’t think of other one other person on this show this season that is being cyber bullying, cyber bully, or harassed.

Is Johnny Weir being harassed on social media right now? Tara Lipinski. Steven Colletti, mark Ballast. No. We all know who’s being harassed and it’s Colton. That’s why they put this statement out. The problem is. Point number two, I wanted to make, you are the one that cast him. And by the way, it’s driving me absolutely bonkers.

The amount of people in the reality TV world, whether it’s contestants themselves or content creators that say the word casted. Casted is not a word. They were cast for traitors. They were cast for the Bachelor. They were cast for love island. They weren’t casted. That’s not a word. Stop using it. Anyway, back to my point, because Colton was cast on this show, that’s on the traitors.

If they don’t understand that by casting, casting, which is a word, a guy who has the past that he did, you can’t then come out and say, Hey, leave our people alone. Talk about the game. No. We’re allowed to say he shouldn’t be in the game to begin with. Why are you giving him a platform? He lucked out because he signed a settlement agreement with Cassie that benefits him.

That doesn’t benefit Cassie. ’cause he’s allowed to stand behind. Hey, can’t talk about this. Signed a settlement agreement. Sorry, but let me go on your shows. Clearly there wasn’t this much outrage. There was a little bit when he had his own Netflix show coming out, Colton or whatever it was called, and there was a little bit of outrage when he went on one of those other reality shows.

And then when he hosted that virgin dating show with Caitlin this summer, but nothing like this, and the reason is the traitors is way more popular. People coming outta the woodwork now are acting like they discovered this of Colton’s past. This has always been there, but this is on the traitors themselves.

This is their cast. Casting job of Colton, they were the ones that did this. And then to come out and say, Hey, don’t cyber bully or harass. I don’t know what the messages are that Colton is getting, but here’s the thing, if you’re Colton, and maybe he did it because he didn’t understand and he didn’t get a lot of hate.

When he did the Netflix show, which I find hard to believe, or when he did the dating show with Caitlin this summer, which nobody watched, and maybe that’s why he didn’t get a ton of hate, but this comes down to Colton himself, if he can’t handle, he had to have known going on this show that there were gonna be people talking about why is he there when he was allowed, when he did this to Cassie.

And now he hasn’t even really apologized for it and isn’t allowed to talk about it. Why is he on your show if the traders production team doesn’t understand that that’s on them? Colton? Look, the show has already been filmed. There’s nothing we can do about him being on the traders this season, but this statement by the traders was clearly put out because Colton is struggling with the social media backlash.

So what this means to me is Colton. You got away with it with your Netflix show. You got away with it on your dating show with Caitlyn because nobody cared about those shows. Nobody watched. But now you’re on a very popular show. Oh yeah. He was on the Mass singer too. I don’t think anybody cared about that, but this is a very popular show.

Now, Colton, I think this is your answer to never go on reality TV again because you clearly aren’t in the mental space to handle legitimate criticism. We’re not just saying you suck as a game player or whatever. ’cause some people are saying you’re playing the game really well. That’s not what people are upset at.

People are upset that you’re even given an opportunity like this. And they’re essentially, while they’re calling out you, they’re also calling out the production team who puts this show together and saying, why is he there? Do you not understand what this guy did in his past? Yes, it was five years ago, but he’s able to hide behind a settlement agreement.

And people just, it’s not good enough for some people, nor should it be. So I’m almost glad that he is struggling behind the scenes and clearly that’s why the traders put out this Instagram post Just proves to me he should never be on TV again because you can’t sit there and go on reality tv. And then once you get the hate for not what you did on that particular show, but what you’ve done in your past.

Then you can’t cry wolf and say, unfair, or, this isn’t going well for me, or I’m struggling with this. Hell, even the Lisa Rena stuff this weekend was really weird. Lisa Rena posted something on social media that said, let’s talk about the fact that you’re a stalker and then. I don’t know. I think either hours later or the next day posted something about, I’ve talked to Clayton Post, show.

Him and I have chatted. Everything’s good between us. It’s like that didn’t vibe at all with what she had previously posted, literally 24 hours earlier, which was, let’s talk about the fact that you’re a stalker, so I don’t, it’s like almost maybe the traders got to Lisa, production, got to Lisa and said, you need to not say that about Colton.

That was two clearly different messages that she sent in those two tweets that she put out there. Or maybe it was on Instagram. Very, very bizarre. But yeah, when the traders put this out there, I’m like, oh boy, Colton’s not doing well yet. I’m sorry. I don’t feel sorry for him. He chose to go on the show.

Kind of like what I say. Anytime anyone on reality TV complains about something. It’s just like you weren’t picked up off the street and thrown into a van and all of a sudden you’re on a TV show. You made the decision on your own to sign a contract and go sign up to be on a show, and Colton did it clearly for money and publicity wants to keep his brand out there, his name out there, fine.

Then handle the criticism, not the criticism that came with the game, but the criticism that came from people that didn’t wanna see you there in the first place. I’m really curious to know how many of the other 22 people in that castle knew about Colton’s past. I mean, you’d have to, I guess, interview them individually and ask, I don’t know the answer, but based on this, I really wonder if Colton’s going to the reunion show, and if he is, is anybody on that cast gonna be allowed to bring up.

His past with Cassie. My guess is no, and that’s where a lot of the audience is gonna feel a disconnect, because again, it’s almost like you gotta put pieces of the puzzle together. How many of them didn’t know until the show started airing? When Colton started getting a ton of backlash for what he did to Cassie?

How many of those people there that were playing the game with him knew it? There were no other Bachelor people on the show, and you just don’t know how much people were paying attention to this guy. I am guessing the woman from Real Housewives of Dubai had no fucking clue what ca what Colton did.

There are so many out there that you’re just wondering, wait a second, how does this work? And how did he get on this show? I, I, I’m really curious to see, number one, if Colton shows up at the reunion, and number two, if he does. Are they allowed to call him out for it and said, I didn’t know this about you when you were playing, that’s why I am not a fan of you.

Or something along those lines. My guess is either he’s not showing up, or even if he does, they’re not gonna be allowed to talk about it, which will frustrate even more of the fan base of the show. And finally, how many of you watched on Netflix Saturday night, Alex Honnold in the skyscraper live where he was going to climb?

Free solo, the Taipei 1 0 1 Skyscraper. Skyscraper. No ropes, no nets. Guy just climbs 101 or 1,667 foot hotel and either he got to the top or he was gonna fall and die. Now, for those that don’t know, there was a ten second delay, meaning if he were to have fallen, you were not gonna see it. I think we all kind of understood that, but I did see some people online saying, is he going to, what happens if he falls?

Well, they were just gonna cut away. Now, I don’t know what they would’ve done with the broadcast from that point. What are you gonna continue to co you gonna continue to cover the show with a free solo guy who just died on live tv? Like they obviously would’ve cut away. You never would’ve seen him fall.

I’m just saying if he would’ve fallen, which obviously we don’t want to happen, but our morbid curiosity is the whole reason we tuned into this thing. I’m wondering how they would’ve even continued the broadcast if he would’ve fallen. What do an interview with his wife who was watching the whole time?

No. Do some sort of analysis on where he slipped. No, I just, so that whole aspect was kind of bizarre to me because I was like, where does this go? If it goes south? I think you just cut off the broadcast and be like, see you later. We’re not talking about this. We’re not covering this. Unfortunately, one of the worst things happened ever on live tv.

Now. He didn’t fall and didn’t die, so now we can talk about what happened. And I have never seen the free solo movie. I remember when it came out in 2018 and everyone’s talking about, you’ve gotta watch this. This guy is absolutely crazy. And ever since that movie, and ever since Saturday night, people have said what he did in that movie was actually, I don’t wanna put a percentage on it, but it was almost like 50% harder than what he did on Saturday, which.

Sounds bad, like I’m not gonna take away anything from what he did on Saturday. Clearly 99.99999% of America can’t climb 101 or a, a, um, 101 story skyscraper, uh, with no ropes and no safety net. So he gets all the credit in the world for that, but it’s also very, very. I don’t wanna say easy ’cause it sounds like I’m discrediting what he did, but apparently it’s a lot easier than what he did in the movie, in the free solo movie.

Now watching it after about the first 30 minutes I had it on in the background, I was just like, okay. It seems very repetitive of what he has to do every single time. Even when he got, uh, to those certain structures, it’s like, okay, he’s gonna climb those structures this way. Got it. So I just don’t know. I, I just didn’t, it was, it was cool to watch and yeah, uh, I got dizzy just watching it on TV from some of the angles they were shooting it at for sure.

All the credit in the world to Alex Honnold. I have a feeling this won’t be his last Netflix show. It feels like this guy’s gonna be the next David Blaine when it comes to live events. He’s gonna find something to climb next, and that’ll be televised live on Netflix. All I’m gonna say is. I just hope this doesn’t ignite Tom Cruise and have him be like, Ugh, this guy just totally outdid me, which he did.

I’m sure Tom Cruise is pretty jealous of Alex Honnold ’cause we know Cruise wants to do all his stunts in his movies. But man, just watching that certainly was impressive. But there’s a part of me that’s like, it looked like he got that through that fairly easily for him. I wouldn’t get through it easily, nor would any of you.

But for him, it kind of looked easy for some reason before that thing even started, I thought he was going up the glass portion of the building. ’cause I was like, he is just going to rely on his feet. Not slipping on the glass portion. No. He had places to put his foot on every single step. He took up that side, up that skyscraper.

I dunno. It was still, it was still a fascinating watch for sure. I’m sure this won’t be the last one he does on Netflix. ’cause a lot of people are talking about this and that’s what Netflix wanted. They want more live quote unquote sports. Since they only can only get certain amount of NFL games and other sporting events that they’re trying to get into.

We get it. It’s gonna be stuff like this that Netflix is gonna really try and break in with live events. Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also rate and review, but you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts is a download The Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now, so go check that out.

Again, thank you all for listening. I appreciate it. And I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
