Daily Roundup 3/30 – This Weeks Schedule, Bachelor Happy Hour Interviewing Taylor’s Men, American Idol, Paradise (No Spoilers), and a Death in the Back to the Future Family

Now another thing that Kathy and Charity said on their podcast is that they said in the podcast that it was paused and not canceled.

They weren’t very specific about that. When I heard that, I didn’t know if they meant Taylor, Frankie Paul’s season. Is paused but not canceled or the franchise is because if you’re saying that Taylor, Frankie Paul’s season is paused but not canceled, that’s saying it’s going to air eventually and seemingly on A, B, C, which I don’t see happening, saying the franchise is paused and not canceled.

That makes way more sense to me. There were some things said in the podcast that I did hear in some of the clips that I heard that, you know. Taylor deserves to find that second chapter and the third chapter in her life and find a man that can bring her love and happiness while dealing with the other issues, like they need to back off with that, that, that, that, again, I said it the day she was announced as The Bachelorette.

Nobody says that Taylor, Frankie Paul doesn’t deserve to find love. But the fact that not enough of you were saying it back then because you were like, oh, love the drama, love the celebrity angle that they’re going. She’s perfect. She’ll bring mess. We can’t wait to watch. And now after all this stuff, after all the stories that are circulating right now, you’re still saying she deserves to get a second and third chance to find her love.

What? I understand these women are in bed with the show. They are the official podcast of the show. They obviously hung out at some point with Taylor, Frankie Paul. I get it. You don’t wanna piss her off, you don’t wanna get on their bad side, but that’s a horrible take. It’s an absolutely flat out, horrible take.

Even after all this, you’re still saying that she should get her season? No. She deserves to find love at some point if first off, she can actually learn to love herself. Before she could ever give love to another man. ’cause she’s clearly not in a good place right now. She needs help. We all know this, but when I heard that on the podcast, I’m like, oh gosh.

Like, I mean, I get it. They’re the official Bachelor podcast. They’re not gonna criticize the show. They just, you know, of the, of the stuff that I heard. It was tiptoeing around what’s going on. Why can’t they just flat out say it was a mistake to cast her? I’ve been saying it for six months. Anybody in Bachelor Nation that can’t say right now?

It’s a mistake to cast Taylor. It was a mistake to cast Taylor. Frankie Paul is basically just kissing her ass at this point ’cause it was a mistake. You can admit it now. Maybe you were hard to come around on that in September because you wanted to see how it would play out. Well, it played out like a lot of people thought it would play out.

She shouldn’t have been given this platform. She shouldn’t have been given this role. And the people who say yes, she should have, would you have said the same thing if a man was given the bachelor role, who had a DV charge three years earlier, where he chucked three bar stools at his girlfriend, who also that happened to be the mother of his child, would you have said Yeah.

I’m good with giving him a second chance. No, you wouldn’t have. So that’s where people kind of lose me with. Well, I wanna see her. It’s gonna be messy. Yeah. But we’ve lived through her mess, through all these seasons of Mormon wives. So this was said on the podcast Friday, even after season four of Secret Lives of Mormon wives was aired.

And these people seemingly know what she did on that season, right? You really think this woman was ready to be the bachelorette that she took it seriously. Come on now, in the words of Latia, Gar, American Idol had their Hawaii episodes last week, I believe. I don’t even know where they’re at tonight. How many are we down to?

When do the wives show start? That’s what I care about. I don’t know a lot of these people by name. I’ve seen every episode except the second. I didn’t see last week’s episode yet, so I’ll watch that before tonight’s episode. But I haven’t really noticed anything major about this season that’s really all that different.

The judges pretty much say the same things. The judges never criticize. The, the, the worst criticism you’ll ever get for a judge is, I didn’t like that song. But then they’ll follow it up with a you saying the hell out of it though. You know, it’s the same stuff. The show is not what it was. It never will be what it was back in its heyday.

And the one pet peeve of mine when it comes to this show, I’ve got a few, but one of them is when the judges say, you made that your own. You’re acting like that’s a big thing. You’re acting like numerous contestants every season since this thing started back in the early two thousands, haven’t sang a song and made it their own.

Everybody makes a song their own. ’cause most of these songs. Are cover songs? Yeah, there’s a few originals in there, but the amount of people that sing cover songs on this show, some might mix it up and make it totally different, and then the judges just gush. I can’t remember who it was. It was in the first 10 when it was down to 20, the first 10 that sang last week in Hawaii, and he sang all night long Lionel Richie’s song.

Lionel Ritchie was just blown away. Oh, you made it your own. Yeah. ’cause if he sang it exactly like you, that would’ve been so corny and campy and cheesy. You wouldn’t have criticized him for it. But that’s what I mean. We always get people making it their own. You kind of have to on this show, ’cause if you do a song and sing it just like the original, how good of an artist are you?

How do we know how good of an artist you are? If you sing it exactly like the original, so American Idol judges, Derek Huff, they all basically are the same thing. People could say what they want about Carrie Ann and Abba. She will criticize answers. She might be too technical, but she will criticize answers.

Derek will never criticize anybody, and if he does have any sort of, oh, you gotta keep your arms straight or your, your, your, your feet or your heel leads and all this stuff, but you killed it. You know, they’ll always follow it up with that American Idol judges, all three of ’em. It’s just, everybody did great.

You are great. You did a great job. No matter how bad they were, just, it’s the way it is. Now on American Idol. I haven’t talked about Paradise. The television show on Hulu and the season finale aired last night at the time of this recording. It hasn’t come out yet. Comes out at 11:00 PM Central time on Sunday nights, so I’m gonna watch it in a few hours and.

I gotta say season two is definitely been different, but it really picked up the last two episodes because, you know, when we watched Paradise in Season One, we were introduced to this story of this new world created in a, in a bunker for 25,000 people. And we just assumed everything outside the bunker was non livable.

Nobody was outside the bunker. And if anybody was out there, they were all dead. Because there was this weather front that took over the world, and they knew it was coming. Sinatra knew it was coming, and the president knew it was coming. So they had created this bunker in Colorado and everyone was 25,000 people hand selected.

We’re gonna move there. Okay. But we knew at the end of season one, Xavier. Was gonna go find his wife because he found out that there was life outside of the bunker. What kind of life it was. We didn’t know. We’ve learned that through this season, which was really weird to me because while I knew that there was life outside the bunker, ’cause we found it out at the end of season one, when we knew Xavier’s wife was alive, I thought that they were just living in the worst conditions ever and they’ve just managed to somehow stay alive for three years.

We’ve seen this season. Everyone’s just living outside the bunker. Like it’s nothing. They have no power and they have no electricity. But I thought it was weather related and apparently found out the season it’s not. Now, there are a ton of theories floating around and by the time you listen to this, you may have already watched the season finale that aired last night.

But the theories floating around, and I’ll throw this out there now if you haven’t read them online, is that there is some sort of time travel theory that’s happening with this show. Somehow there’s an an multiverse or an alternate universe or some sort of time jump that is happening in this show with certain characters how it’s explained.

Maybe it was explained in the episode that dropped last night. We’ll see, but. To me it does make sense because there are some things that don’t make sense this season, but when I see, oh, there might be a time travel element involved, I’m like, oh, it does to me. That makes sense. But I, I’m excited. I’m excited for finale.

I’m, by the time you listen to this, I’ll have watched the finale and then we’ll talk about it tomorrow. And speaking of time travel, you know, the greatest time travel movie ever. The greatest trilogy, in my opinion, ever back to the Future, lost one of its family members. This on Friday, we found out that Thursday, principal Strickland actor James Tolkien, died at the age of 94.

He was also in Top Gun. If you don’t remember him from the Back to the Future movies, he was the guy that confronted Marty in all three movies at some point during the movie. And called him a slacker and called George McFly, a slacker. It’s just an iconic line that everybody remembers because he said it in all three movies, and that was his character.

He didn’t have many lines whatsoever in any of these movies, but that was his main one, and he passed away at the age of 94 on Thursday. We found out about it Friday. Obviously thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends of James Tolkien. He will always be remembered as principal Strickland with just an iconic line that back in the eighties, that line and that word kind of took off.

Calling people slackers. I know I did. So thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of James Tolkien. Anyway, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also rate and review. But you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts as a download. Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now.

What an absolute unbelievable game between Duke and Yukon last night. Anyway, thanks again for listening. I appreciate it. Talk to you tomorrow.
