I know a lot of you are huge fans of the “Housewives” franchise on Bravo. Unfortunately, I’ve never watched five minutes of any season outside of the Dallas one last year. Well, season 2 of RHOD starts this Monday and I figured what better person to have on the podcast week to talk about it, along with many other things, is the fiery red head from season 1 and friend of mine, Brandi Redmond. Kinda random how Brandi and I met and we get into that right off the bat. We also talk about her time as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, how she got cast in this franchise, the effect season 1 had on her marriage and kids, her relationship with Stephanie Hollman, what we can expect in season 2 and much, much more. First podcast I’ve done with someone in my own home since Brandi only lives about 10 minutes away from me, so it was definitely a tad different. Not to mention we were drinking Jesus Juice during the interview and we had an audience of two watching us the whole time. As always, if you’d like to respond to the interview, please include Brandi’s Twitter handle (@BrandiRedmond), so she can see your responses as well. A very fun 90+ plus minutes with Brandi that I hope you enjoy…

(SPOILERS) Brandi joins me to talk about how we originally met, how she became a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader (8:14), the schedule that a DCC girl would normally have (18:50), dealing with creeper fans (25:26), how she became part of the “Real Housewives” franchise (34:49), what she felt about season 1 focusing so much on her marriage and the image it portrayed (42:36), the effect the show had on her daughters who were kicked out of their school (47:30), her relationship with Stephanie Hollman (50:07), what we can expect to see in season 2 (58:25), her website ShopBrandiLand.com (1:01:49), and finally end with Rapid 10 (1:12:27).

Is it really true that a lot of people on this site are fans of Real Housewives? Or is this just a thin justification for a fill in because RS is running out of Bachelor related guests? Zero interest.

@Rob22, I was thinking the exact same thing. Never watch Real Housewives, so I guess I’ll be skipping this week.

Maybe Steve gets emails asking about the real housewives or maybe one of his polls asked what other reality shows his blog followers watched. Real Housewives is most definitely not a man’s type of programme though, IMO. I watch some of them and others not at all, the Beverly Hills lot are my favs. It’s semi scripted and I’m not sure even I’d want to listen to a podcast from someone from that franchise either.

I dont know if there is a lot of crossover with The Bachelor and the Real Housewives audiences, but either way this podcast was really painful to get through. I can listen to Heather McDonald twice a week, even when she talks about the housewives or has them on the podcast, and ive never seen a single episode of housewives, because she makes it entertaining. But this was incredibly boring. He doesnt have to have bachelor related guests on, but they have to be guests who are fun and interesting.

To be honest, I think that Steve did this interview because he’s friends with Brandi and it would be fun for both of them.
As far as Bachelor contestants, they aren’t going anywhere. He’s already announced next week’s guest.

@rob22: I agree, never watched Real Housewives. The Housewives who I know who they are are due to other ventures such as Bethenny Frankel (Skinnygirl), Yolanda Hadid (mom of supermodels), and Brandi Glanville (the cheating scandal with ex-husband). That’s about it.
Anyone else cheering for Jasmine and Santa Clause (Nick) on BIP? I don’t recall the BIP spoilers. Taylor being villanized was also ridiculous. So glad to see her make a connection on first episode.
