Sharleen is the best. There’s really no other way to put it. One of the most, if not THE most, articulate, insightful, and downright enjoyable people to listen to in this franchise. Love talking with her and I think you’ll enjoy podcast #121 today. Granted, since we haven’t talked to Sharleen all season, but she covers the show extensively on three different platforms, we didn’t go over the whole season. Tried to keep it to what we saw the last two weeks. Sharleen no doubt has some thoughts on what went down, what mistakes Colton made, where she sees the two of them now, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Seriously my favorite conversation of the season. Sharleen never disappoints. And of course, Kaci Campbell from “Temptation Island” joins us at the end to break down episode #9. As always, if you want to respond to the interview, please include Sharleen’s Twitter handle (@sharleenjoynt) in your replies. It’s much appreciated. A really good deep dive into how the ending of Colton’s season played out, along with how my friend fangirled over Sharleen when Sharleen decided to include what she wrote about Hannah B. that I included on my site in hers. If that made any sense whatsoever. You’ll know what I’m talking about when we get to it in the podcast. Enjoy…

Hiya
My first podcast. Really admire Sharlene and you.
Want to make a couple of points. Even if I am sure this is won and done for you.
A) Tayshia was in the friend zone all season. He went to her for an easy interaction, comfort, a shoulder to cry on, and truth. Too bad he is too young to see that this is a great start to something real. Wants his dream golden girl.
B) My take on Cassie was that she exhibited all the symptoms of commitmenyphobia. Like all phobias this is an irrational fear that you can’t express in words. It is almost a form of PTSD. (been there.)Thus her extreme problem is expressing why she was dumping Colton.
C) I think the commitmentphobia slowly crept up on her. But she probably comforted herself that if she ended up engaged she wouldn’t have to marry him—-that is till Daddy showed up and told her that a fake or tentative engagement was out of the question for her.
D) I give Colton credit for figuring some of this stuff out and doing everything he could to allay her fears. I also buy that he sensed that she was into him.
E) Women love the grand gesture so she didn’t see Colton as stalking her.
F) Think they have fallen in love. Each of them transformed in the last three months from a girl and a boy to a woman and a man. I also think Colton has the emotional intelligence to give her all the space she needs. I compare him to Sean who I perceive to have been very very demanding in terms of his expectations of what changes Catherine needed to make to get married.
G) C and C’s generation (mid to late 90s) is a bit different re relationships so him being a virgin so long is no surprise. A lot of them are asexual.
PS I do watch for the producer manipulation and the how real feelings do peek out sometimes reality despite the scripting. Also because twitter is hilarious as are your recaps.

Steve and Sharleen obviously don’t have children. Some parents HAVE to give their blessings even if every cell in their body say NO WAY, even if they haven’t met their new girlfriend or boyfriend. Duh!!
I’ve known girlfriends who bitched out at their parents refusing to give blessing and having huge fights. Or boys and girls running off eloping if their parents object. Surely this alternative is way, way worse than just giving their blessing. At least by giving their blessing, parents can still keep tabs on their children, instead of them cutting off from you and going MIA.

Also regarding Hy (?), Andi’s dad, didn’t he turn around and give Josh and Nick, who were equal strangers to him as Juan Pablo, his blessing when she was the Bachelorette??
