If you think I’m done with snorkeling talk – think again. It’s covered fairly extensively if you want to check out today’s Daily Roundup. I’m still massively confused as to what the hell is going on. Also, we have some “Bachelorette” talk as I go back past 10 seasons to look at a pattern that’s developed as we’re only about a month away from “Bachelorette” filming beginning. This show has pretty much stuck to one major philosophy when it comes to their “Bachelorette,” and that’s that 90% of the time, it’s someone who finished in the top 4 of their “Bachelor” season, and, roughly 85% of the time it’s been someone who was on the “Bachelor” that just aired. Back in the day, they didn’t do a “Bachelorette” season every calendar year so that’s where things can kinda get skewed. But ever since they’ve gone to the same schedule of “Bachelor” filming in Sept and airing in January and “Bachelorette” filming in March and airing shortly thereafter the last 15 years, those are the numbers. So with those numbers, at least we have an idea where they’re looking.
Today’s Daily Roundup covers transcribing podcasts, more snorkeling talk, the “Bachelorette” facts, and the Jessica Simpson story seemingly has an answer.
I have seen a few of the suggestions you’ve emailed me regarding transcribing the podcast. I will evaluate all of them and see if the return on investment is something worth doing. If I did it, it’d only be for the Daily Roundup and the Thursday interview podcast. But there are seemingly multiple options at different price points, and I just need to see which ones offer the best transcription. Doing it just so I can get one long PDF file with no paragraph breaks, and tons of misspelled words, and light punctuation (like the one I copy and pasted and put in yesterday’s column) is not what I’m looking for. So I’ll try out some of these other ones you sent me yesterday and see if it’s a route I want to go. Thanks for all the suggestions. Either way, this is something that’s time consuming. And most of the time, I’m usally not done recording the Daily Roundup until between midnight and 1am. So I’d need something that turns it around pretty quick to where I don’t have to go in and do a bunch of edits since I usually record, then go right to bed.
Something I noticed that I pointed out in my Daily Roundup yesterday, doesn’t really mean a whole hell of a lot in the long run, but something I’ve noticed during the rose ceremonies. Not counting the first rose ceremony since there were so many women there, but every rose ceremony since, once Zach gives a rose to one of his final 4, the others in the final 4 are coming next. Take a look at this:
Rose Ceremony #2: After giving out 4 roses, the next 4 women to receive roses were Charity, Kaity, Gabi, then Ariel.
Rose Ceremony #3: (Kaity and Charity were already safe with roses) Jess got the first rose, then the next two were Gabi & Ariel.
Rose Ceremony #4: (Ariel already safe with a rose) The first three women to get roses were Charity, Kaity, and Gabi.
I’ll keep an eye on it going forward, and maybe it’s happened before, but I just found it interesting because I’m weird like that.
Our friend Suzana @bachelordata has a great new post up regarding Instagram followers, following the Anastasia storyline from Monday night, and how big of a dip IG followers are taking on this show, and it’s just not the same as it used to be. Not to mention the fact that people seem to relate it to the dip in ratings, when in fact, it really has nothing to do with that. Take 2 min and watch this video. Really good stuff and why Suzana’s IG is so great. She’s doing a type of work that no one else on the internet is doing regarding this show:
