Bachelorette number 21. Gen trans season begins tonight on ABC. We’ve got a lot to go over in regards to that. Talk about last night’s live stream and we’ve got some golden bachelorette news.
I’ve got some news on. Weekly podcast number 400 coming up in a couple of weeks. And we’ll talk a little bit more about Jen’s spoilers. And I’ve got a 90210 story from last week and we’ll get to all that momentarily. Okay. Let’s begin tonight is Jen’s season premiere. How about that? We’re finally here, July 8th, Jen Tran, 21st bachelorette, even though she is the 23rd woman to be the bachelorette.
Since we had two seasons where there were two women who played the bachelorette, Claire and Tayshia. Rachel and Gabby. So getting started here. Before we get to Jen’s season, I did want to talk about a lot of the stuff that I brought up on last night’s live stream. If you haven’t go check it out on my YouTube channel, reality, Steve YouTube, you can watch me go over all that show some pictures that I had brought up that I hadn’t really posted yet.
And then maybe some other things that you might be interested in taking questions for everybody, but basically going over the spoilers, which I’ll get to in the back half guests. But one of the things that we talked about. Was the Golden Bachelorette and the Golden Bachelorette is filming right now Jones season.
They are about three weeks into filming because they started on June 21st and today’s July 8th. So what 9, 17, so two and a half weeks into filming. I don’t, I know filming ends at the end of this month. So they still got probably another two and a half weeks left of filming. We talked about it in the very beginning because Kelsey Anderson, you know, the one that is engaged to Joey, she was so upfront about her father, Mark being open to love and she would love to see him.
And she basically gave him the go ahead to appear on Jones season. And we talked about it at the time. It was just very, you know, I even said it, I’m like, look, I’d be shocked if Mark wasn’t on Jones season. And then we saw that he went Instagram private like two days before filming began and it was all out there.
Well, I can tell you Mark’s on the season and I brought this up last night and I had mentioned it a couple of weeks ago. I was pretty sure Mark was on the season, but yeah, he’s on. And I think one of the things is, you know, I, nothing against Mark Anderson, you know, but it almost seems like it’s unfair to the other guys that are there because the audience is already rooting for Mark Anderson.
Like who doesn’t want him to end up with Joan? If anything, I don’t think this is going to be like a Patty Smith, Matt, or Patty James, Matt James mother who was on Gary season who went home the first night. It was a non factor that’s not going to happen to Mark Anderson, but I just think. The audience already wants him to find love.
And, you know, from a production standpoint, it makes all the sense in the world that he’s on the show. I get that point. I’m just saying if Mark ends up with Joan, it’s kind of going to be like. Okay. This is almost like an arranged marriage. I understand that they have to hit it off. I understand that Joan has to be into him and he has to be into her, but when you have everybody in the audience wanting him to end up with Joan, it’s like they can do things on that show to assure that that happens.
It’s almost like a win win because if Mark, let’s say doesn’t win, but he gets to the end, then you just set them up as our next golden bachelor. You know, why wouldn’t you at that point? Because he’ll have gotten to the end and then Joan dumps him and everyone’s going to feel even more sorry for him than they already do because he lost his wife.
You know, I get it from television perspective. He’s the one, but I’m just saying, if you’re one of the other guys in that house, you’re probably like, okay, they clearly are pushing this guy and they want him to be either the winner or our next golden bachelor. And. I’m not saying it’s not fair. I’m just saying, I’m sure those other guys have some thoughts on Mark being cast on the show, especially if he ends up winning.
Not going to say it’s not going to be a good love story if he ends up winning because I think people absolutely eat it up, but you know what I’m getting at. So Mark is you know, Mark’s filming golden bachelorette now. And the other thing that I wanted to say was, and I mentioned it on the, on the live last night.
And this is something I’m really excited about is this week on Thursday is podcast number three 99 and for 400 I wanted to do something with somebody who hadn’t been on before and just wanted to make it kind of a big deal because not only is podcast number 400, you know, number 400 never thought I’d get to 400 weekly podcasts when I started this in December of 2016 but we’re also moving to YouTube.
So you are going to see not only it’s, trust me, it’s still going to be in your apple podcast feed on Thursday mornings and it’s still going to be in your Spotify feed wherever you listen to my podcasts on Thursday, but it’s also going to be on youtube so you can watch me interview the people that I’m talking to for 399 episodes.
You’ve never been able to watch me interview the people at hand. Well now you’re going to starting at episode number 400. And for episode number 400, I wanted to make it somebody special, somebody who had never been on and somebody who would be a real good attention grabber for the 400th episode. And I got it.
And I think it’s one of the best ones I’ve ever done. And it’s going to be with Clayton Eckerd. Now you might be, my gosh, Steve, we are Claytoned out at this point. Let me kind of go against that and say this, Clayton’s been doing a lot of interviews recently. You know, because the judge has ruled in his favor.
This case is pretty much done. Obviously the other side can find a file and appeal, but nobody thinks in a million years they’re going to win any appeal on this except for her lawyer, which, you know, he lives in a different world than the rest of us, along with Laura herself. So they all think they’re going to win on an appeal, but nobody else thinks nobody in the legal profession that has followed this case thinks they have a shot in hell of winning an appeal on this, but that’s neither here nor there.
Clayton’s done a lot of interviews recently. So when I approached him, I was like, man, I want to get you on the podcast and I know you’re doing a lot, but I want to make it different. I don’t want to sit here and rehash everything that everybody who’s been following this case for a long time already knows about, like what happened on the night of the 20th and you know, how did it, you know, what did she do and what did she say?
It’s like, well, we know the emails. If you listen to me or listen to Dave, you’re very well aware of what’s going on here. And you know, about the details of this case. Now, for those of you who don’t follow Dave every day or didn’t pay attention to what’s been going on the last nine months with him, we do talk about Laura Owens in this case and I, in this podcast, I think it may be the first 30, 40 minutes.
We talk about Laura and this case kind of in generalizations. We don’t sit there and do a timeline. You know, when he, when he went on Nick Vial’s podcast, He was having to address a lot of people who had probably had no idea about the case. So they went through, okay, what happened here? What happened here?
All that stuff. It’s not an interview like that. This is almost like a Clayton Eckerd uncensored, Clayton Eckerd unfiltered, Clayton Eckerd tells all, and it’s more about him as a person and it’s more about his mental health. And you know, I’ve never had Clayton on before, so we’ve never even, I’ve never even talked to him about his season, which He was one of the most hated bachelors we’ve ever had for what he did with Gabby and Rachel and Susie telling them all that he loved them.
And then Susie saying, well, if you slept with both of them, I have to leave. And then him ending up with Susie in the end, because he wanted to, he wanted to be with her and then them getting together post show. We talk about all that stuff, a lot of good stuff about Susie in there too. And I just think it’s a really, really good interview.
I can’t wait for you all to hear it. It’s going to be next Thursday’s podcast, July 18th, but I recorded it on Friday and I’m just really proud of it. And Clayton thought it went really well. He does explain the reasoning behind the things that he did. He’s not trying to make excuses. He’s just saying, look, you want to know what you want an answer.
Here’s why I did what I did. Here’s why I said the things that I did. Doesn’t make it right. But if you want to know why, because I’m just sitting here going, you know, Clayton, since your season aired, I haven’t been able to talk to you. Why’d you tell three women you love them? What were you thinking? And he answers it.
