I don’t talk about it in today’s column, but if you wanna know the insanity that’s been happening in the Big Brother house since HOH nominations on Sunday, go check out today’s Daily Roundup. I can’t even do it justice since there are so many things that have happened over the last 3 days, it’s damn near impossible to cover every storyline. Tonight we’ll see the POV competition, but it’s more about what happens after that, which is basically everything that’s happened since Monday, that’ll be shown on the first half of tomorrow night’s live episode. CBS can’t possibly show us everything that’s been going on, so it’ll be interesting to see what they choose to give us. If you’ve been following what’s happening on the live feeds, you know what I’m talking about. If you aren’t, I’d say try and get caught up. So many storylines, so many people turning on alliances and other houseguests, etc. Hell, I don’t even know who’s aligned with who anymore to be honest. Totally confused. And this week, your guess is as good as mine as to who’s going home. For anyone that’s said this season has been boring – just know the house got turned on its head the last few days.
Susie attended Miss USA in LA this past Sunday and did a red carpet interview where she talked about her relationship with Justin. Needless to say, that was a lot of word salad to basically tell us they’re no longer together. I don’t have any insight into their relationship, they certainly haven’t announced any break up publicly, but we’ve seen this time and time again with Bachelor Nation couples. The second you start hearing phrases like “taking time to figure things out,” we kinda all know what’s coming. Breakups suck for sure. We know this. And it’s worse being in a public relationship. So I feel bad for the whole situation. However, those answers she gave, while not confirming a breakup, basically confirmed a break up if you know what I mean.
Rachel is obviously going through a lot with her messy divorce to Bryan. But she was on a podcast this week and discussed getting engaged to him back when the show filmed. Kind of revealing here and a little insight as to frankly how bizarre it is to get engaged to someone at the end of this show that you barely know. And lets be real, we’ve said it for years, the engagement is just a product of the show. They want you to get engaged and you feel an obligation towards them to do so. But are you really getting engaged because you’ve found the love of your life? Of course not. You’re doing it because a TV show wants you to. If it works out, you’re the exception, not the rule. But it is kind of fascinating to hear Rachel talk about how after she got engaged that day she wasn’t excited, but scared. I’m sure she isn’t the only lead that’s felt this way either. She takes the high road in the interview as she doesn’t take any shots at Bryan, which is a good thing, since we’re getting enough of that in court documents. But this was a different look at what it’s like to get engaged on the show.

Tried to dm you on Twitter/X whatever that shit is called now but I’m not a “platinum” member and I ain’t paying for it haha….I still use Facebook (don’t judge me.) and only use Twitter to follow you and like maybe 8 other people because I’m nosey haha! Don’t have any friends or I guess followers because everyone I know still uses Facebook (I live in Newfoundland so maybe that’s a Newfoundland thing?) Anywho….I was just wondering, I listen to you’re daily roundup everyday but don’t download it, does that still count for you or should I actually be downloading them? As long as you listen to it, that works. Although it’s probably easier to follow my podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify so it’ll be in your feed every morning.
Also, are you looking forward to Summerslam? And I know you’re a WWE fan but do you watch AEW as well? I’m more of a fan of WWE since Vince is dunno, but I’m really liking AEW. I’m hit and miss with AEW. They’re really two different products. AEW is more focused on 20 minute matches, whereas WWE is more focused on storylines. I’ll follow AEW here and there by just reading what happened and that’s about it, with the occasional tuning in to MJF promos.
One more thing, what do you think of T-Swift’s “Teardrops on my guitar” Era? I was around from the beginning and shake my head at these Johnny come lately teeny boppers hahaha.

I have a difficult time seeing many (or any) of the men on Jenn’s season as the future bachelor lead.. Will they choose from a prior season? Any chance it’ll become Spencer, though he didn’t get to hometowns? He seems kinda likable.. he got a good 1-1 date!! Thoughts?? Have you heard anything of note?? Haven’t heard anything of substance when it comes to next Bachelor. I can see Jonathon in that role just based on his placement this season and knowing they love giving us a lead who finished top 4.
Are tayshia and Kaitlyn still friendly now that Kaitlyn started dating Zach? I don’t think there was ever much of a relationship there to begin with. As for now, more of the same. I have no idea of there’s hatred or resentment there on either part. I think it’s just a situation where two people who weren’t that close to begin with and haven’t had any reason to stay in touch in the years after they worked together. Both went off and did their own thing.
Any updates on when Noah and Abigail will get married? Is there a wedding date? No idea.

So, who are they thinking of for the Bachelor in the fall? Doesn’t filming begin in a few weeks? I could MAYBE be ok w either Jeremy or Jonathan as they’re final 4 but they really do not seem like typical bachelor guys- but they’re alright.. who else?? Could they pick someone not in final 4? Maybe a guy from Katie’s season? A few weeks? Not really. Usually doesn’t begin filming til the back half of September, so we’re at least 6 weeks away. It’s the one secret this show can keep pretty close to the vest since we know they talk to numerous different people and also will have more than one person sign a contract, so when they do make their final decision, they can immediately start prepping with them.
Does Jenn have a thing for quirky looking guys? This is the oddest crop of men ever.. there’s not one ‘Ryan Sutter’ or ‘Peter Weber’ or ‘Arie’ type in the mix- those are my go to standards for the men in the show- lol!! But seriously, they have some duds this season.. and I mean in personality, too.. I mean, it’s not her choice who gets chosen to be cast. I remember when the cast initially came out, there were plenty of people saying some of the guys were hot. Beauty is totally subjective as we know, so someone (or numerous men) that you may not find attractive, others will.
Is Joey your favorite bachelor lead? I think he was fantastic.

Thanks for finally covering some Olympics on the sports daily! As much as I love watching the traditional sports (gymnastics, swimming, track etc) it’s always fun to watch the random ones like race walking or trampoline. I definitely think Pommel Horse guy will be on DWTS (or at least asked), but another name would be Ilona Maher from the US women’s rugby team. She’s blown up on social media (over 2.5M new IG followers and counting per bachelordata). I’d love to see her on too. Yeah, she’s definitely a candidate. Or even the woman cyclist that I spoke about in today’s podcast who won the gold on the road course for the US Women for the first time in 40 years. What a story.
Also, I’d tune into your sports gambling 101 podcast/livestream. I’m a sports fan but so lost when it comes to the gambling aspect. It’s going to happen. Just a matter of when. It will be a “no question is too dumb to ask” type of deal since I know it goes over a lot of people’s heads.
A few Bachelorette questions:
Do you think Jenn’s ex Matt will be at MTA? I doubt it. There’s no reason to bring him there considering how irrelevant he was to the season.
Now that we know who will be in Seattle, can you remind us who your barber shop guy source said he saw and how that lined up? I love hearing more of the inside scoop of you getting your spoilers. He said he recognized 4 guys there when he went online to look at their faces on my IG page – Marcus, Jeremy, Jonathan Hess (who never made cast and it ended up being Sam), and John Mitchell. Now that we know Dylan didn’t make it to Seattle, I don’t know who he could’ve thought was John Mitchell since Dylan, to me, is the only one he could’ve seen that looked like John as they’re both over 6’4” black men. It’s why I was correct in not reporting who he said at the time. Couldn’t rely on someone who had no photographic evidence and was going off memory.
Any more intel on the finale “twist”? It definitely feels like it’s Jenn proposing, and I can’t think of anything else. I also don’t think we’ve seen a ring shot in any promo (but maybe that’s bc producers want people to think she leaves alone).

Hi Steve – Am I alone thinking the Bachelor franchise is becoming a yawn fest? It’s taken me a few weeks to get through just 2 episodes of the current season of The Bachelorette. I’m distracted by other reality shows (and baseball).
Are you as disenchanted as I am? Frankly, I’m bored.
I say this as someone who has watched the franchise since Season 1. I also spent years years writing (locally and online) about TV, including the Bachelor — when I retired in 2017, I was excited to just watch the show for fun instead of work.
I know they’ll never change the format of the show because apparently it works, but just bring back Bachelor Pad or something to give the franchise a little excitement.
Just a rant, I suppose, but I’m hoping they can find a Bachelor and a cast of girls that will get me hooked again.

OK, you have mentioned who you think might be the next bachelor, but I still have a question about Marcus. Last week I asked you if you thought he could be it, but you said no. Is it because he’s not getting enough screen time, or is it because he might be considered boring, or is there perhaps a bad secret that might come out about him? I don’t think his edit has shown him much at all. And his personality doesn’t seem to match a lead for this show. He’s too serious.
Have you kept up with what is happening in the big brother house this week? Hint hint… America gets a say. I have heard Quinn’s name. Hope that is not giving too much away lol.

Comment: It was predictable, but I liked it. If Roman didn’t show up, people would’ve been pissed. It was clear not only that he was going to show up, but he HAD to show up. It made sense storyline wise.
Dom leaving Rhea was a given with how hard they were going showing him hating Liv. Saw that coming from a mile away. Best match was Priest/Gunther I thought. But Liv and Ripley was good too.
I think the Punk/Rollins feud is now set in full motion. I expect that to last quite a bit since it’s rumored they will be one of the main matches at Wrestlemania next year.
