But anyway, I just wanted to get to that. And I did want to just throw that out there. This was pre recorded on Wednesday with Courtney. It’s a very fun Friday conversation that I wanted to do. She was the winner on Ben Flanick season. She’s a multi time guest on the show. She’s the host of the after reality podcast. It is Courtney Robertson. Courtney, how you doing?
Hey, I’m doing pretty good. How are you doing Steve?
Good. This is just, this is what I’m going to call the Friday fun talk. This is not going to be anything hard hitting.
We’re just going to have some fun here for 20, 25 minutes. So the first thing I want to get to, and I always like to do this when I talk to you is. Discuss your family life because you’re very open about it on Instagram stories. So this week was Joaquin’s first week of school, correct?
Back to school So we’re ready to rock.
What grade is this?
So he’s in preschool. So he’s, he just turned four. So yeah, he won’t go to, to like kindergarten until he’s like, he’s a summer birthday, so either five or six.
So is this the, wait, is this the first school that he’s gone to?
No, so he went there last year, but then they take the summer off.
So he went to Paloma’s preschool for a couple of days a week, but no, he’s been there, but it’s a new class, all the same friends, but it’s a little emotional for me. I’m like, Oh my gosh, you’re four. Like it’s just trending in that direction. Kindergarten is knocking on our door and
he seemed like he liked it in the videos that you posted.
Oh,
he loves it. I was like, say bye to me. And he was, he was gone. He had no
interest in saying goodbye to you. He didn’t care.
Yeah, exactly. But I was in my feels this week and I haven’t been feeling well. I tested positive for COVID last week and you know, it’s just the dog days of spring. summer. So he, he was out of school for a couple of days and you know, the weekends are long because the kids like to go to school and it’s so hot here.
There’s only so much we can do. Steve,
I know when you live in a, when you live on the surface of the sun, you know, that’s what you get for 115 degrees out there. It’s crazy. I don’t know how you do
it. A lot of AC.
What about pool time? I know you went to the pool a couple of weeks ago because you went, you had a party for your brother in law, right?
Yeah, he turned 50. So we did a little staycation and we went to the Arizona Biltmore, one of my favorites, you know, H works for the government. So we get a government rate, which is pretty clutch if you, you know, when I met him, I was like, you have a government rate for staycations. He’s like, Oh, I had no clue.
But yeah, we went there for a night, 24 hours. We took a two hour nap during the day. It was incredible. And they have an adult pool there. They have a water slide for kids, but we just really just took it for time for ourselves. When you
say it’s adult pool, that doesn’t mean topless, right? That just means only adults are allowed in the pool.
You have to be 21 to be at the pool or. I wanted
to pop over there, to be honest with you, but the day got away from us, I believe it’s just adults only, no kids.
Okay, that makes sense.
It’s not a titty pool.
The, the other one I wanted to talk about, obviously, was, Paloma, when does she go back or when does she start school again?
Okay. So she goes to preschool as well. And that’s where Joaquin has been going in the, like a summer camp and she just ended last week. So she has the whole week off and then she starts back up next week. So she’s used to going to school every day, like preschool every day. She knows her friends. She loves her teachers.
They do, they do, they keep them entertained all day. So yeah, so she’s home with me all week and man, she is testing my patience. She is literally climbing up the walls.
Does she, when she’s at school, so is this one of these things where you say it’s preschool? So is this like eight to noon or is this a full day?
So I can drop them at seven and then pick them up at five. And I typically drop her off at seven 30 and then pick her up at four 30 and then we get home, we do baths, we do dinner. I just made pasta for everyone. You would have liked it, Steve. And yeah, so it’s, it’s also, you pay for it. So. Once they start kindergarten, it’s free.
But if you pay for preschool, it’s, you know, it’s like 230 bucks a week for her and about the same for walking. So
when she goes to school, you, she obviously. Likes being there as well, but a couple of the videos that you posted of her at home with Gabriel now in the house, it seems like she’s being very possessive over Gabriel, do they get in fights?
Does she get in fights over Joaquin of no, you’re not allowed to look at him or. Touch him. It’s just only I can or okay. So that’s what it’s become now.
So she’s, she’s turning three in November and she, so they say like terrible twos. And when I took her for a checkup, the doctor’s like everything with her, it’s like me, mine, I it’s, I do it, I do it.
Like, so I’ll be like, Joaquin, like he’s such a helper. I’m like, can you go get the bottle for Gabriel? Cause he’s like losing his mind. Or can you go get me a diaper? I need to change them. And he does it. But if she sees Joaquin do that. It’s like, no, I do it. And then thankfully, Joaquin, I just look at him and I wink and I’m like, let her do it.
So she’ll go put the bottle back and then walk it back over to Gabriel to try to help. But it’s just the girl vibe is totally different. I’m going to send you a video after this, but she was just my, when my husband’s away, she acts even a little bit worse with just me. So. I kept threatening her today.
I was like, I’m going to call dad and tell him. And she’s like, no,
it’s miss sassy pants. That’s what she is. That’s sassy pants.
She’s yes. She’s like full on brat mode for this week, which is okay. I’m like, but I want to like get her out of the house. But then I have Gabriel. So it’s like, who’s on first. And you know, I just love her to pieces, but she’s definitely pushing all my buttons.
Well, brat mode fits with this summer. Isn’t it this thing now it’s brat summer. Isn’t that the thing that all the kids are talking about? Brat summer.
Yes, she is full on brat summer.
Okay. I wanted to move on to a little bit of bachelorette talk because something that happened this week on the bachelorette happened on your season.
Obviously the sexes were reversed, but we saw Jen’s ex boyfriend, I guess, bought his own ticket. He still had to go through production production had to allow this it’s not like he said I’m coming and you’re putting me on The show they obviously had to agree to it and they probably just said hey, you know, let’s have him Let’s have him do this This will be another storyline for the show But it reminded me of your season because when you guys got to San Francisco, which was episode I believe three because you had first night then you went to Sonoma and then San Francisco was episode three, right?
Or was it four? It was just Sonoma then San Francisco, right?
Yeah. Yes, yes, yes.
Yeah. So in San Francisco, Chelle Newton, that was her maiden name. Newton, I think it’s Po more now. Chelle Newton, who was the funeral director and she was on Brad’s season, I think she was on Brad’s Yes. Womack. She was on Mm-Hmm.
Brad Womack’s season. She shows up because, and you’ll have to clear my memory on this, but I believe her and Ben had. I don’t know, messaged a couple of times. Like she had reached out to him and I guess he was her favorite contestant when she was watching Ashley season. And I guess they had some sort of back and forth.
So she felt the need to contact producers and say, Hey, I want to show up. She shows up in episode three. And if I remember correctly, none of you women were having any of that. I think you even threatened to quit if they allowed her on the show. So refresh my memory. Did. When Ben, when this happened and she walked in, we all saw the reactions of the women.
You all hated the fact that she was there. None of you wanted her to be there, treated her as such. And then, but my question is, did Ben go around and individually talk to everybody and say, Hey, what do you think about this? Or did he unilaterally just say, you know what? I already know the women are going to be pissed.
I can’t have you compete. What happened?
Well, that’s a really good question, Steve. Honestly, like it might, it looked like. Like our pet’s heads are falling off. So it was, it was the craziest thing. I was sitting there talking to the, I did make friends like Jacqueline and some of the girls that I got along really well with.
And then like out of the corner of my eye, I saw this girl walk by and I was like, Oh wait, who’s that? And then everybody jumped to conclusions. It’s kind of like what Devin did this week. Like I jumped to the wrong conclusion and I jumped with him. I was like, okay, let’s jump. Yeah. And, you know, So they, I was like, well, the girls, like some people started crying and I was like, I’m going to get a little closer to the situation because she walked right up to him and they were sitting and talking.
And to be quite honest with you, I think producers put me right next to him so I could steal him with an earshot of their conversation. So I heard the whole conversation and it was like. They had met before. It wasn’t like just like a DM or texting things. They had met and yes, they had met But I think he was also talking to your girl Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Yeah, and Like so but I hear the conversation. I’m standing off to the side in San Francisco and it’s like Hey, we met, I really felt like we had something. So just overhearing their conversation, I’m like, Oh my gosh, this is an ex girlfriend. I, at that point, I didn’t know the show well enough. I didn’t know it was somebody from another season.
I didn’t know her from Adam, but and then I walked back to the group and the girls were all talking about it and like, what’s going to happen. And I just personally was like, I just feel like this is an ex showing up kind of like, Probably how the guys felt this week. And I just felt so messed with, I was like, Oh my gosh, this is crazy.
Like, how are we going to compete? I hate to say compete, but with somebody that has like already a history with him. And I remember I was just like, I need to step outside. I need a break from filming. And I think I want to leave. And. So I hope I’m telling this story clearly and concisely, but the producers follow me downstairs.
I walked out to the front of the hotel and I was like, I think I want to go home. Like, I think I’ve had enough fun here. And. They said, Ben just said, we hope he, he just pulled us aside and said, I hope Courtney didn’t hear that conversation. And basically like, he’s not keeping her. So I, you know, and I don’t know what’s true or what’s not true, but I was like, I want to go home and I go, if I stay, will you let me call my family tomorrow?
And they said, yes. But with the Chantel thing, like I, Them tipping me off to be like, he was saying like, I hope Courtney didn’t see that or hear that. And I was like, well, they ushered me to the side to hear it and see it. Well, you know. So you, so you did hear
you, so you hear it, but you don’t know for sure.
Exactly. You find out, obviously you had numerous conversations with Ben after that. So he probably told you in detail as further on down the line, or even maybe after filming was over when you guys were a couple. What was the extent of his quote unquote relationship with her? It was just, they went on one date together.
They met at like a party. I think she lived up in the Bay area. Yeah. And they kind of hit it off, but like, he was like, I kind of knew I was doing the show and I think that they like texted, like got each other’s numbers and texted it. And I think he started dating Jennifer Love Hewitt. And I think he’s even said, like, I kind of probably should have just stuck with that, which sometimes I think maybe, maybe it should have, because like, look how it played out for us.
Like, you know, if it was the roles were reversed, I would have, that would have been a really tough call if it was like one of my, like, The guy from Dawson’s Creek. Oh, what’s his name? That’s off a slipping off my tongue. Which one? Not Pace, Pace or
Dawson?
Oh, Pacey.
Joshua Jackson. He’s going to be on a new show in the fall.
Oh my gosh, I mean, if it, if the roles were reversed and I was in his shoes, I probably would have been like, okay, cancel the contract. I’m just going to date my, my, you know, my high school crush. Hey, why not? But so, but what he said about Chantel was like, you know, I met her, but like, she was a mortician.
And I think that kind of didn’t, didn’t work. I mean, the impression I got from what he told me was it didn’t really sit well with him. So yeah, yeah, it was just like He didn’t I think it was kind of out of left field It’s kind of like when they bring the person back like when they brought kcb back.
He was so pissed steve It was the morning after our overnight date and he gets to his hotel room. He’s exhausted The rose ceremonies that night and he gets to his door and kcb is standing there. He was so pissed
See, you saying that, I totally forgot about that. I, so KCB, who was eliminated at, right after Hometowns, they flew her to Switzerland and she confronted him?
Oh God, I totally forgot about that. Wow.
Yeah. And, but the timing of it and like people watching it probably, I don’t know how they aired it. Cause I never, I didn’t, I don’t even think I watched that episode, but
he
told me like, talk about like talking off camera and like having a relationship with somebody for a year.
He was like, I was so pissed. He told the producers like, why would you do this to me? I just had this great night with Courtney. I’m exhausted. You know, we tried to stay up all night so we can maximize our time just off camera. And then he gets to his hotel room and Casey B standing at his door.
Yeah, that’s gotta be, it’s, it’s such a whirlwind, this whole, it’s such a trip just to be on this show.
And I talked about this earlier this week on my podcast, when Rachel Lindsay did an interview she do, she went on Curtis stones podcast. And
yeah, I heard,
so she’s talking about like. He asked her like, were you excited the day you got engaged? She’s like, no, I was scared. Like, it was the first time she said
I was weirded out.
Yeah.
She’s like, I wasn’t even excited because I barely knew the guy. And for the first time we got to ride in the same car together. We got to go back to the same hotel together. It was just kind of weird. And I, and I, you know, you just kind of like, you think about it. Most people don’t think about that when they watch the show, but how weird it is to leave that show engaged to somebody that you barely know.
Yeah. Well,
I remember feeling that way after I got engaged in Switzerland and the show, everybody rushes out and they’re like basically hiding in these bushes. They have these like kind of nets that look like camouflage. So you walk up to the. Engagement ceremony and you don’t see anybody, but you know, the cameras are there.
You don’t see any cameras. You don’t see the camera crew. They’re all basically in the bushes. And then they have this like tarp over it where it looks kind of like it just blends in. So it was like a special moment, but so then it happens. And then everybody comes rushing out of the bushes and they’re like, congratulations.
And And then I remember like the producers that, you know, you build friendships with and his producer, the person that was with me. And, and then they said to, they said to us, okay we’re going to reset. We’re going to do it one more time. And I was like, you’re kidding me. I was like, ah, that’s so funny.
And they’re like, no, seriously, we’re, we’re going to do it again.
Do you remember which. Take They showed on Fina on Phenomen night.
It was, it, it was a, it it was a hybrid.
Oh, it was both of ’em mixed in. Okay.
But the second time around, I’m like, I really like, so there’s this like special moment between us and then like, you know, the, the thing is, is you walk up and you have to, like, I, I knew I had to go first.
I memorized what I wanted to say to him. Then they do the famous, like the but moment. Yeah. And you can see my face genuinely. I think that they use the one where you can tell I was genuinely like, Oh my God, he’s going to dump you right out. But if I watch that scene, which they played for us right before, after the final rose, I was crying because I was like, man, that from then to now, Where our relationship it is, is super rocky.
Like what a pisser because I was so happy that day and excited. And you know, but anyway, I was going to say about Rachel, Lindsay going back to that. So we were on the tram, so you have this ring and then we’re with the crew. You know, who else was there is Neil Lane. And you know, I hadn’t met him yet and he comes out and I’m like, I have this beautiful ring on my finger.
We were all in like this train and Zermatt going back down to the room. And I just remember feeling the same way, like I can relate to what she was saying. Like, okay, the show’s over. There’s no more interviews. Now it’s just us. And Neil Lane came up to me and started talking to me. And then I just remember Ben like kind of whispering in my ear, like he’s kind of a weird dude.
Dude, or whatever he said. And I, and it was just kind of like, wait, what? Like, it was like, okay, so now we’re off to the races, but I went back to the ski Chalet where he was staying and I went, I moved my bags into his room and it was, it felt good to like, say like, Oh, this is where you’ve been staying.
Like I got to see how he organized his clothes. Like now I’m here sleeping in his bed for the next couple of days. And it was definitely like, okay, now real life. Starts. Let’s go.
Well, speaking of Ben, this week you had on after reality, you had Ben Higgins and it reminded me, or it got me thinking. Is there a chance that we ever hear Ben Flanick on your podcast?
I would love to have him on, honestly, no hard feelings. You know, I’ve told you we reconnected probably about a year before I met my husband. We connected again. We met up, we just kind of talk story. It was when Ari’s season was airing. We actually watched Ari’s. Night one episode together in Santa Barbara.
And we were just like, is there a second chance for romance here? And it was just like two old friends catching up. But you know, he’s married and I, I still love his sister. We’re close. We messaged here and there, but I asked him if he’d come on and he politely declined, which I get, like, I don’t, I don’t, I think he’s just out of it.
I think his wife doesn’t do social media. And, you know, I’m, I just thought it’d be fun, like, an interesting dynamic, kind of like, Justin, no, who was it? Oh, Clayton and Susie Evans. Remember when they did that joint podcast with Caitlin Bristow?
Yeah.
I think it’d be, like, fun to just be like, hey, let’s just put a bow on this.
But he said no out of, at the time it was his girlfriend. Out of respect for my girlfriend. I just, I don’t, I don’t think so. But. I don’t think he’s going to be doing much podcasts or things like that. I think he’s happy and I respect his peace, but I would love to have him on and, you know, just dish about our time together.
We always joke, like we did message back and forth a lot and he’s like, man, we were just kids and I truly feel that way now. Like, I think we both are friendly with each other, but yeah, I don’t know. Maybe, maybe that ship has sailed like as far as like. You know, beating a dead horse.
God, I had him on. I think he was one.
I mean, this, my podcast that I released yesterday was episode number 403. He was in one of my first 50 podcasts, I believe. I might be off. I
know that was a great interview. I loved it. And I was like, good for you. Like I was a long
time ago,
but he’s got this platform. Like I even like he was going to New York.
Like he was saying, like him and I talked about when, after the season, like we wanted to move to New York and like, Just like go off and be ourselves. And we went to New York together a couple of times. I thought it was a little weird when I went to New York with him and he’s like, we’re going to have a date with Ashley and JP.
And I was like, wait, what? That’s kind of odd, but okay, sure. But we wanted to move to New York together and just like do kind of like a little thing. And so he moved to New York and I was like, call my friend Olivia. And I was like, okay. Kind of thinking they would hit it off, Olivia Creedy. And they met up and I was like, do her podcast.
Like I kind of, that he could have rode the wave a little bit longer and promoted his stuff. But you know, sometimes you just got to step away for ever maybe.
Well, that’s It’s interesting because I mean, that’s how I met Olivia. She did a, she was here in Dallas doing her podcast and she had reached out to me cause she knew I lived here and that’s how I first I first met her.
But yeah, I, you know, when I had been on, that’s funny because when I had been on the podcast, I didn’t know you back then that was before you and I became friends.
Oh, really? Yeah.
I don’t think you and I were talking back then.
No, I think I was one of your first episodes, Steve. I think I was before Ben.
You were gosh, I have to go back and look how did you and I get in contact and I just reach out to you On social media. I’m trying to remember how our like we like back then We definitely weren’t talking back then the way we talk now as much as we do now and voice memo I think you might
I think you might be surprised actually So you my sister had reached out to you when my season was airing And there was, I mean, take it out if you want,
I think I’ve told, I think I’ve told this story before.
People know you wrote it. You put it in your book. Remember? Cause this
is a fun Friday, right? Yeah. Talk about whatever.
You put it in your book that you knew that you guys were headed to Puerto Rico and Panama and all that because I had told your sister or your sister had read it on the site and she told you on, in the phone conversation.
Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mm hmm. After the season aired, like, like when we started getting Rocky, I think, I don’t know, she had said like, I, I, she calls you Steve, like, she’s like, I can’t just say reality. Steve, I’m just going to call him Steve. But she had like, I think she might’ve tipped you off to some degree that like things weren’t looking so hot for us.
And. And then after that, I, we met, the first time we met was at Michelle money’s. I love your butt.
Yeah, that’s right. That’s right. Okay. That was, and that was years ago that, I mean, cause your season,
that was after Ben and I broke up. Cause I remember Jeff home was there. It was like first time I was like learning how to go to charity events in the bachelor world and you were there and you bought our date.
It was me, Sean Lowe’s second girl. What was her name that he didn’t pick? God, I can’t think of it.

Lindsey. Yeah. And then Michelle Money. And so we did a date and then we met there and you know, you know, who else was there? Was the girl that was on, was it? Or dated Ari after me, the pretty girl who was on what’s
Selma.
Yes. Selma. Whatever happened to her. She
also dated Chris Harrison.
Stop it. Don’t stop there. Oh, she, she absolutely
dated Chris Harrison. I don’t think he’s ever addressed it, but it was in the tabloids for a while that they were, Oh, I think
I remember that. And so the rumor was that Andy Dorfman, congratulations, she’s Pregnant also dated him.
There was a rumor about that.
He definitely did. He definitely dated Selma and he definitely dated Ashley Frazier. You remember her from Sean Lowe’s season finished third. She’s now married. Oh,
I, I’m going to get her back on. I’ve had her on the podcast. I need to find out about this. She did not tell me that
she absolutely dated Chris Harrison.
When I had her on the podcast, she, I think years ago, she, she didn’t deny it. I mean, it’s, it definitely happened. I mean, her and I have talked about it. So, because I actually, I got sent a picture from somebody, they went to the final four together. The final four was in Houston. That’s where Ashley Flasher lives.
So the NCAA final four, I don’t know. I don’t know what year it was, but somebody was like, Hey, Steve, I see Chris Harrison. I’m sitting right behind Chris Harrison and he’s with Ashley Frazier. I don’t know if I ever posted the picture, but then I think it, it started circulating online, not the picture, but just the fact that it was known.
I think if you checked Instagram stories, she, he was at her house or yeah, it was something like that. So it was known and she definitely dated him. So definitely when you have her on talk about it, I don’t know. Maybe she doesn’t want to talk about it now because. I got to get him in the hot
seat, but going back to what we were talking about, I met you.
I felt like I needed to put a mask on. I met you in Manhattan beach. We met for a steak dinner and I didn’t have an issue with, I mean, this was, I was single. This is when I wasn’t with Ben. This was like, well, after this is after the thing where I met you, you just happened to be in long beach or that area.
We met for dinner and I was like, I just wanna meet you face to face. And we chatted and that, I don’t know if you remember that, but Oh, I absolutely remember it.
Yeah.
Yeah. We had a nice dinner. But I mean that Steve, that was like, I’m 41. I was about 29 then. So you do the math.
Yeah. Yeah. So it was definitely, it was definitely, but we weren’t like, I remember that dinner.
It was right around the time, because remember you came with your ghost writer, right? No, no. It was there. She was there. She, no, she wasn’t with us the whole dinner, but she arrived with you. I remember that a hundred percent. She came with you. She came with you and then she left. Like, I think she just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t some, you know, serial killer or something like that.
Like, I understood it. Well, you know,
that makes sense because we were in Manhattan Beach and she lived near there. She probably just wanted to meet you, to be honest.
Yeah, it could have been something like that. But she was definitely there, and then she said hi, and then she left, and you and I had dinner.
But after that, it’s not like you and I kept in touch, like, a lot. I guess I’m just comparing it to now, to where I feel like you and I Talk almost every day.
Yeah. We voice, voice, voice note each other. And I know it’s so fun. I mean, we, we, you know, it’s so crazy. I just had Ben Higgins on and we were talking about like the show and all this, and it brings back memories.
And, you know, I always feel like the black sheep, but I do appreciate the friendships that I have built and I consider you a good friend and yeah, no, it’s pretty cool. And you text my husband. I mean, that’s, that’s a sign of a true friend right there.
And You know, just, just to give you a heads up. So, and you care about my kids
Yes, that too. And you let me stay at your dad’s place, which was great when I was out there for the, for the trial.
Anytime.
So in, in on Monday, couple days from now, I am having a meeting. It’s our, it’s my first meeting with my. Advertising team. Well, I don’t know what you want to call them that sells the advertising on my podcast and we’re having an early start to next year’s party.
Cause I, I have a plan. I’m going to present them with the plan we’re going to, cause it’s going to be next year’s party is going to be different in that we’re going to have an hour. Live podcast that goes right into the party. So, I’m looking at venues. I have a venue picked out and I just want to see, you know, I have the pricing and how we go about getting this sponsored and stuff like that.
So our first meeting is on on Monday and a couple of days. So, just to give you a heads up on that I’ve kind of hinted at it, but next year, my birthday, Falls on a Saturday. So it’s probably going to be on and I’m turning 50 next year. So it’s going to be like a 50th birthday party slash fan appreciation party slash eighties party.
Like it’s going to be the buffo of all buffo parties. So I’m and I know obviously you’re going to be there Umberto. I think we’ll be able to, you know, Gabriel will be 13 months at that point.
Oh, we’ll leave the kids at home. We can, we’re good for 24 hours, at least 24 hours, maybe 48. If we get lucky.
And my mother in law’s great at watching the kids. He’s already looking at costumes. I want to be Kelly Kapowski. You said eighties. I was like, Yeah,
yeah, that’s, that’s a done deal. You can come in leg warmers and a unit. Maybe I’ll
even cut things. Should I cut, do power banks? Things are always a bad idea.
So, yeah, I mean, that’s coming. I, I don’t think I’m going to have like everything finalized after the meeting on Monday, but you know, I’ve never started planning my party until usually the first of the year, you know, it wouldn’t be till like January of 2025. But this year we’re starting early because it’s going to be different.
I’m trying to get a sponsor for it because it’s going to cost way more to rent out this place and do it, but it’s going to also allow me to have. More people and not cap it at 90 to a hundred people. Like every party has been, it looks like I can get up to one 50, even almost one 75 if I want to. And I don’t even know if that many people would want to come, but the whole point is it’s going to be a live show for about an hour and then we just transition.
Into the party and there’ll be a lot of fun. So anyway, that’s the plan.
Wow. Well, Hey, if you want me up for your live, I’d be happy to see some familiar faces and get up and chat and answer questions or whatnot. But you know, Alana was going to meet me there and I ended up getting clipped on the hotel cause we were going to split everything and Vegas prices are.
Every Uber we took was even pricey and
I
have to pay for, like I was saying, I gotta pay for childcare. So if we can swing it, we will be there. And if you need help with sponsors, you know, I’d love to try to help in any way because it’s such a good time. And honestly, especially right now, dog days in summer, like it’s, it helps to have something to look forward to.
And
I
mean, it just really does. Like we don’t have a lot of trips. We have no summer trips planned last year. You, you came to Newport, you saw us in Newport last year. That was, that was like our last trip that we really took a beach trip with the kids. And. I got pregnant pretty quickly after that. But yeah, so I’ll be looking forward to that.
It’s something that I think we all can look forward to.
I know it’s still so long away. I mean, we’re looking at May 31st of 2025. I mean, we’re looking at 10 months away, but still just the thought of. Starting to plan for it. And if, if I get what I want out of this party, it’ll be, it’ll easily be the best one that this will be the best venue I’ve ever held it at.
It’s perfect for what I want to do. And look, even though I want to have an eighties theme, and even though it will be my 50th birthday, it’s not a, it’s not mandatory. You don’t have to, in terms of anybody else who wants to come, you don’t have to dress in eighties garb, but it’s going to be. Or a themed party and you don’t you can if you
want I love talking to some of the people at your because I did your podcast the week before We went out to vegas or maybe it was like when we went the day of I can’t remember Sorry mom brain but I was like just go comfortable like just Bring your flats and I loved all the women that came up to me like I took a page out of your book Like i’ve got my flats on so no, we’ll we’ll be there and let’s start Let’s start a countdown because it will be here before we even know it
The only one who wasn’t in flats was Serena in her six inch block heels.
I love her.
You saw, you saw, you saw those that she wore and not, and not to mention she, she walked, she walked from Caesar’s palace. I believe that’s where they were staying.
She walked in those. I was like, I’ve said to her husband, I’m like, your wife is a boss. Like I, I’m in like flip flops, like Havana.
It’s like, how did she walk that far? And she was just like cool as a cucumber.
Yeah, no, I don’t know how she did it either. Especially not only walking in those heels. Just throw in the Vegas heat. It was one Oh eight that weekend. I mean, it was just, why would you want to walk? I
haven’t been to Vegas since the last time I was there with you guys.
So the first party that we came to, and I was like, can I walk from Mandalay to the party and you’re like, now I know why, because it was. It was like a 22 Uber ride each way for Dave. It was me, Dave. And she’s all bash, which I’m sure they’ll be there. They are a lot of fun, but you should do like a live show.
Have you ever considered doing like taking your show on the road? Like Kate Bristow does. I,
that would take a lot more planning. I haven’t thought about it. I I’ve done one live show. Where, well, it wasn’t live. I mean, we did it live in front of an audience on a Tuesday and it was my, it was for my Thursday podcast and it was here at a comedy club in Dallas and I was able to get Olivia Caridi.
She’s the only one that I’ve ever had as a guest that was talking live and we did in front of an audience, I think 75 or 80 people at the comedy club. It was good. I enjoyed it. Olivia was great and, but that’s the only
time
I’ve ever done a, Broadcast in front of an audience. And for this, like next year at the party, while I say like, it’s going to be an hour show and then go right into the party.
Like, I’m not going to sit there and talk for an hour. That would, people would be bored. I definitely am going to bring you up, bring Dave up. That’s the whole point is kind of like
Clayton. I think Clayton just started a podcast, but I haven’t heard anything yet. Do we have any updates on the Clayton pod?
I don’t
think it’s launched yet, but he’s recorded them. I think he’s, I think he’s recorded about, he’s got like four in the can, I think, or that’s what he told me off air. He was going to record like four and then they were going to roll them out. But I don’t. Think it’s out yet.
Okay. Well, maybe we’ll get who knows.
Maybe there’ll be some surprise guests.
Yeah I mean, I just that that’s the that’s why we’re starting to plan early. I just got to see all this stuff You
have to and especially with like availability and like even for us like it helps us we have kids We got a plan child care school all this kind of stuff.
So and Dave do I mean they’re gonna have a A baby and you know, their baby’s going to be older. So everybody needs to plan accordingly
