Some stuff to get to that I did not get to yesterday because we had so much house cleaning stuff to take care of. I want to talk about Joan. I want to talk about golden bachelorette and briefly discuss the Brandon interview on a Clayton’s podcast.
We’re also going to discuss big brother. And just out of curiosity, did any of you, after listening to yesterday’s podcast, Google Frankie Valley performing, looking like a robot. And looking like he could be comatose, just curious. Anyway, we’ll get to all that momentarily. All right, let’s start with this.
Did you see in one of the interviews Joan did last week to promote the golden bachelorette? I think it might’ve been, maybe it was Kelly and Mark’s show, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos. Maybe it was that show where maybe it wasn’t. I don’t know because Kelly Ripa hates the bachelor franchise. So maybe it wasn’t that show.
Maybe they’ve stopped putting their contestants on Kelly Ripa show, which they should. It just doesn’t make any sense. Why a woman who openly hates the show and bags on the contestants and the leads when they come on the show, why you would continue to go do that show. In fact, I know for a fact now it wasn’t that show because I remember seeing the interviewer.
I think it was the view, right? Might have been the view. Anyway, did you see what Jones said about the overnight dates? Jones said that this season on the overnight dates, she had one request and it was, she wanted the beds removed because she was more interested in emotional intimacy than physical intimacy.
Totally understandable. Makes sense. Would it ever happen on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette? Probably not, because those people are Hey, look, I’m not saying Joan and any of the men this season can’t have a sexual drive. Apparently one of them’s in overdrive. We’ll get to him in a second. But, I am like, I just don’t think any lead from Bachelorette would ever request that.
It’s just not something I see happening, but for Jones season, very, very interesting. My question now becomes, well, where did they sleep on the floor on a couch, separate couches, or maybe she just said. You know, let’s stay up till two or three talking and then you go back to your room and I stay here I don’t know We’ll see how it plays out But she did admit that in interview in case you missed that which I I found almost very refreshing and it just goes to show Again, I talked about how different this show is then the franchise, you know when I say franchise I’m talking bachelor and bachelorette and Bachelor in paradise but to hear Jones say that It just adds on to the allure of this show.
And yes, same mansion, same producers, same feel, group dates, one on one dates, group date roses, first impression roses, all that stuff. All that stuff is still the same, same format, yet I feel like Golden Bachelorette and even Golden Bachelor for Gary season is just a totally different show, has a totally different feel to it.
So interesting to hear that from Joan. Curious to see how that plays out with Pascal and Guy and Chuck on the overnight dates and what they say, how they react. Hell, maybe that’s why Pascal at overnight dates is like, yeah I’m not in love with you. Maybe that’s why he bones out. I don’t know, but very interesting that she does that.
And I think it, I think it’s really cool. And I just want to know where people slept. My guess, if you’re asking me to guess how they handled it. My guess would be she spent hours talking to them and then at some point during the early morning hours or, you know, two o’clock, three o’clock, four in the morning, however long they talk till and they felt conversation was over.
One of them was getting tired. She just said, okay, I’m going to turn in for the night and you can go back to your villa or wherever he was staying in Tahiti. And I don’t know, take care of business, whatever the case may be. I think it’s very noble of Joan to do that and present that as an option, which we’ll see.
I mean, we’ve never, it’s never seen that in the history of the show. They open the door, they walk in, there’s Rose pedals on the bed. Every time we see overnight dates, now we’re going to walk in. There’s going to be a giant empty room with like a couch and a TV, a couple end tables, maybe a recliner. I don’t know, but yeah, just going to have a different feel to it for sure.
Next thing I want to talk about is Gil from the golden bachelorette, because it became news at the end of last week that a woman took out a restraining order. I told you I was speaking with the woman’s daughter, trying to get some details on everything and the woman ended up, did end up speaking to somebody because it was reported, I can’t remember who she spoke to.
One of the outlets, one of the news outlets and basically where everything is. And there’s a lot of there’s a lot of layers to this but I do want to say this. Anybody that has heard me cover the Devin story knows that there were two reasons why I wanted to put this out there. Number one, to show Devin’s past behavior.
Number two, an indictment on the show for the horrible vetting process that this guy somehow got through and was able to be put on the show. Those are the two reasons why I ran with the Devon story and got the documents that I did. So I want you to keep that in mind. When I tell you this next thing in regarding Gil, his name’s Gil Ramirez.
He’s the athletic director at Capo Valley high school, a team we used to play all the time back in my high school days, but he’s the athletic director at Capo Valley. And. He was served, I shouldn’t say that, actually, strike that from the record. He was not served. A woman filed a temporary restraining order against him on June 11th.
Shortly thereafter, Gil left for filming. So from the time the woman filed on June 11th till the time he left for filming, Gil never knew he was served a restraining order. And, look, I am the first person, you know this, to criticize the show. But in this situation, this is just bad timing coming off the Devon story.
The show had no way to know at this point, literally days after a woman filed a restraining order against one of their contestants, which he didn’t even know about. And I’ll tell you why in a second, how would they know to check in? They said in a statement, we had already been through our vetting process.
And I’m guessing anytime you do a vetting process, you’re not checking every day. Hey, was anything new filed with any of these 24 guys? Okay. It wasn’t. Okay, great. And then Tuesday comes, Hey, was anything new filed? They’re not going to do that. And I think you’re asking a lot there again, I’m criticizing the show heavily for how they handled the Devin situation, because there’s no way in hell they shouldn’t have known about his restraining order filed against him seven years earlier, Gil had a temporary restraining order filed against him days before he left for filming, not months, not years, days.
They wouldn’t have known this and Gil, even if you would have said, well, Gil should have told them he didn’t know. And the reason why Gil didn’t know is because Gil never received the paperwork that he was served a restraining order until August 11th. So keep that in mind this situation while it’s horrible for the woman and it’s not like I’m sitting here disputing anything She put in the temporary standing order.
I don’t know. This is what she said happened to her So I’m assuming this is what happened to her. He harassed her. He stalked her He sent a bunch of emails to her text messages to her wouldn’t leave her alone promise her He was gonna marry her and shit like that So she had every reason and whatever reason you want to do to file a temporary restraining order against somebody, you can do it.
And the burden of proof is very low. All I’m saying is in this particular case, this is not a Devin situation where it had been out there for seven years and they just lackadaisically just decided, well, I guess, you know, we’ll ask Devin, Hey, what about this burglary on your record? Oh, you know, it wasn’t a big deal.
Okay. That’s clearly what happened in the Devin situation. If not, they already did. No, I don’t know. They should have known is the question. This one, I’m sorry. You can’t put it on the show. The timing of it does actually suck because it’s coming fresh off the heels of literally Devin’s restraining order getting announced last Monday by me.
And then four days later, we’re hearing a story about one of Jones men having a restraining order out against him, but you gotta be, you gotta be Objective here and say, these are two separate situations. Restraining orders were filed. Yes, those are the same, but the timing is couldn’t be any more different.
Devin was seven years previous. The show should have known about that. Gil was literally days before he left to go film Joe’s season. And he didn’t know because he got served the paperwork on August 11th. And the reason why I know he got served the paperwork on August 11th is because the daughter sent me a video.
Of her recording her boyfriend, dropping the papers off to Gil in person. So he did not know about any sort of restraining order out against him until August 11th. You have to know that. So does it suck? Yes. And what’s interesting is I got an email last Friday, four days ago from a Rachel Juarez. Does anybody, does that name ring a bell to anybody?
If I were to just say Rachel Juarez. She’s one of the judges on CBS is hot bench. She that’s the court show created by judge Judy. They have three judges there. It’s on syndicated TV. It’s all over your television in the afternoon. I’ve come across it a few times, but I didn’t know any of the judges names.
Well, Rachel messaged me and wanted to thank me. And saying, she said, I thought your reporting on Devin’s restraining order was excellent. And then she goes on to say, you know, give her thoughts. And I said, I’d love to have you on the podcast so we can discuss this. And right around the time, this was the time the Gill story was breaking.
So I’m recording with judge Rachel Juarez today from CBS is hot bench. And that’s going to be Thursday’s podcast. Number four 10. That’s going to be really, really interesting. Can’t wait to talk to her. Clearly being a judge, she’s going to have a lot more informed and legal opinions about how the Devin case was handled by the show, what she saw.
