I mentioned in the open, I have not watched love is blind. I’ll probably get to it this week. This this past weekend was packed with stuff for me to do, which included a lot of football watching, but it was still packed nonetheless. So, I did, I am going to get into it. I know what they released six episodes and then they’re going to do what two and two in the next two weeks.
Or was it four and they’re going to go two, two, two, something like that. But the thing is, it’s very tough to stay away from headlines, whether it’s ew. com or us weekly or people I’m reading headlines about some white guy that has an African heritage. I’ve got, I’ve seen a headline about some dude that was bragging about how much money he makes and that people are questioning him on that.
I guess this is all par for the course, but you know, me, I’ve only seen one full season of love is blind and that was last season and the pod episodes are what drives me absolutely batty because I just know all these people. I, we all think it’s ridiculous that the bachelor and the bachelorette get engaged, dating somebody for two months while also dating other people.
Yet. Not really spending a lot of quality time with the person they end up choosing. It’s usually three to four days total. If you add up all the hours they spent alone together, it’s maybe three to four days total. But at least you’re looking at the person. At least you’re seeing them, how they interact, how they look, how they dress, how they smell.
Love is blind is just so utterly ridiculous. And yes, I understand there are people from love is blind. Who are still married. There are people from love is blind who have children. I get it. It doesn’t mean it’s normal. Those people are the exception, not the norm. This isn’t supposed to work out. You’re not supposed to get engaged to somebody that you’ve never physically seen with your own two eyes.
Okay. That is not normal whatsoever. So the pod episodes are what drives me absolutely bonkers because I know these people are just saying what they need to say to somebody on the other side of the wall so they can get picked. Now I’m not saying you can’t have some sort of connection and maybe your conversation with somebody is better than it is with somebody else.
I’m not saying that. I’m just saying people talk about the flaw in the bachelor and the bachelorette franchise, which is like, why does there have to be an engagement at the end of this thing? Yes. If you agree that there, why does there have to be an engagement at the end of bachelor and bachelorette, then you have to be under the same exact thought process that why does there have to be an engagement for two people that have still never seen each other?
Why don’t they just choose who they want to be with and go through that exact same process. You see each other, you go on a honeymoon, but you wouldn’t call it a honeymoon because you didn’t just get engaged. You pick somebody and then you decide. Okay. You’re the one I want to see. Let’s go on a honeymoon and then just make your decision of whether or not you want to propose to them.
Even though that’s still ridiculous, because that’s no different than the bachelor, the bachelorette, but proposing to somebody that you’ve never laid eyes on, I, I understand that people want to say it’s not all about looks and come on people. Let’s be honest with each other. You are not getting engaged.
If this is the case, then I want you listening right now to, if you’re not engaged right now, I want you to go get engaged to somebody that you’ve never seen before. You’d be like, Steve, that’s ridiculous. Yes, I agree. That’s why this show is ridiculous, or the concept of it is. And Once I get past the pod episodes, I’m like, okay, I can somewhat handle this.
Cause it’s still two strangers that are getting to know each other. That part is interesting to me, but these conversations that they have with each other, where it is just all, it’s almost love bombing to a certain extent. And it’s usually the guys that are doing it. And they’re just like, oh my gosh, I haven’t stopped thinking about you.
Our conversation, we just vibe or what. And you just never seen this person before. I’m sorry. There’s, you can only go so far. With that, and it’s not to say that I wouldn’t, I would pick somebody just on their looks because I wouldn’t, because if I can’t have a conversation with somebody, I’m certainly not interested in dating them either.
I’m just saying we don’t need an engagement when they haven’t even met yet, you know, it’s, it’s, it’s weird enough that right after they meet after an engagement. They go on a honeymoon and the, and the process works backwards. Let’s get engaged first and then go on a honeymoon and then move in together and then decide, do we want to stay?
Let’s just think about it. It’s one of the more bizarre and awkward and basically completely unconventional ways to date somebody. Just know the success stories from this show. They are the exception and not the rule. And finally, I want to get to this. I’ve talked about this Instagram account numerous times.
It’s called BH 90210 restored and basically for the longest time they showed one clip a day. From every episode of Beverly Hills 90210 a few weeks ago, I noticed they started showing three to four clips a day, which makes seasons go by a lot faster because you do one clip a day. And sometimes the clips are two and a half minutes.
Sometimes the clips are five minutes, but it’s literally just one scene. It’s like one scene a day for a show that had. You know, over 200 episodes. It’s like, okay, this is taking forever. Well, now they’re doing three or four a day. So I appreciate that. But right now they are on the season six finale at the queen Mary where Prince Carl throws the party for Steve’s 18th birthday.
And as of this recording, they hadn’t put up the part where. You know, the best part about this Instagram account and the reason why I rewatch it, even though it’s only segments at a time is because it restores all the old music. You cannot watch a Beverly Hills 90210 episode from during these college years that has the original music in them.
Unless you have this Instagram account, all original music is not on the DVDs. And if you try and go and watch it online, they don’t even have the episodes where the music wasn’t cleared. So the reason why is because, or the reason why I’m so excited about what’s coming up is because if you don’t remember the Google dolls performed at the Queen Mary for Steve, and I haven’t seen the episode where they’re actually performing in, I don’t know, 15 or 20 years, because every time you watch that scene, whether it’s on the DVD or you watch it on some bootleg copy, it’s still cuts out the music.
Or puts generic music over it. And I don’t want that. So. We are it’s probably coming today because they have just the last scene that I saw they showed Steve Arriving and they are on they are setting up for the party So I just wanted to fill you in on that because the Goo Goo Dolls singing name and that’s when Steve lets Carl dance with Claire and Carl kisses Claire and then Steve takes him outside and Punches him in the face So, yeah I, I’m excited.
I can’t wait to finally watch the Goo Goo Dolls perform for Steve’s birthday for First time in God was how long, but really excited about that. BH 90210 restored for those that are interested.
