I’m going to talk about a couple things going on in the Dancing with the Stars world and the relationships or no longer relationships.
One of them led to a funny Us Weekly story. I’m going to answer a reader email that I didn’t get to last week regarding the challenge. I’ve got a story that’s related to Something that I love to eat or did for a while. And it’s also in the sports world. And I could not believe this when I saw it. And then we’re going to talk about what happened this past Friday night in Southern California to commemorate the 35 year anniversary of back to the future.
We’ll get to all that momentarily. All right. So which dance with the stars relationship do we start off with? Let’s go with this one. Headline dance with the stars. Pro Riley Arnold shares cozy photos amid boyfriend speculation. Quote, is this a hard launch? So over the weekend on Saturday, Riley took to social media, cuddling up to USC Trojan, USC Trojans, tight end Walker lions.
And this is in the Us Weekly story, and I point it out because I love the giant gaffe. I love, I mean, how many times when the whole Taylor Swift Travis Kelce relationship started, when Us Weekly would write stories about it, how many times I pointed out, these people know nothing about the game of football, and they’re trying to incorporate football knowledge into their stories about football.
The best tight end in the NFL was the last couple of years and the most popular woman on the planet. And they try and sneak in like football takes in their stories. Here’s a good one. This is a good one with Riley. So apparently she’s dating USC tight end Walker Lyons. I had no idea about this until Sunday because she posted it and said, is this a hard launch?
So the story goes. She captioned the Instagram carousel is this a hard launch the carousel seven photos captured Riley gazing adoringly at the NFL player who was seen wrapping his arm Rewind let me read that sentence to you again The carousel’s seven photos captured Riley gazing adoringly at the NFL player You literally just said in your first sentence of the story that she is You Or second sentence.
She took cozy snaps of her snelf cuddling up to USC Trojans tight end Walker Lyons. Hey, us weekly, whoever writes these stories. You do know that USC is not professional football, right? You do know that Walker lions is not an NFL player. So maybe you shouldn’t write. Riley was gazing adoringly at the NFL player.
Oh God. I love it. I love it. When. Entities that don’t know anything about a certain topic, try to pretend that they do. And it’s just something basic. I mean, it’s not like this story was trying to describe one of the routes that Walker lions had to run in the game this past weekend against Rutgers. It’s not like they had to talk about an offensive scheme that USC is running.
They literally just had to identify if he played college or NFL football, and they couldn’t even get that right. Now I’m recording this about 11 o’clock Sunday night. Maybe by the time you see this story in the morning. If you go and read it, that will be corrected, but I’m reading right from the story right now.

For Lion’s part, he posted a photo of himself cuddling a beaming Riley, taken from Riley’s post, shared at the same time as Riley’s carousel.
Great. That’s just, I’m sorry. That’s too funny. Too, too funny. Let’s move on to the next dancing with the stars couple. That is no longer a couple. How about that? What a shocker. So this broke late Thursday night after I had already recorded the podcast, but it was the fact that Brooks Nader posted a tick tock and.
The caption of the TikTok said, when he’s breaking up with me, but I never knew we were dating. She mouthed along one of the lines to Myers, Miles Teller scene from the movie whiplash. And that was him saying, I don’t think we should be together. I thought about it a lot. This is what’s going to happen. I’m going to keep pursuing what I’m pursuing.
And because of that, it’s going to take up more and more of my time. And I’m not going to be able to spend as much time with you. And then the caption on the video said that when he’s breaking up with me, but I never knew we were dating. Um, so literally these two lasted what a week after they got eliminated from the show.
Didn’t I literally say this? Let’s see how long these two last once they’re not spending every living breathing moment with each other. I literally said that probably two or three weeks ago. So Gleb apparently broke up with her and. He broke up with her over text, which seems to be the cool thing that they’re all doing now, but he breaks up with her over text.
And according to insiders, he wanted to get ahead of the situation and initiate the breakup. He ended things via the text. According to this source, it said, Gleb got way too comfortable, especially in the amount of time he was spending at Brooks’s home to a point. It had begun to concern Brooks’s people and family close to her.
Gleb sensed Brooks pulling back because of this. So then he was the one that ended it. Look, it’s not like we thought these two were going to get married someday. I mean, how many women have, has Gleb been associated with when it comes to the show? I’ve lost track of how many people he’s either hooked up with or been linked to and dated.
I certainly didn’t think anything with Brooks Nader was going to be anything serious, but kind of funny when we see all the lovey dovey stuff and all the affection during the times that they were dancing. We saw that video released by TMZ when they went and got tattoos and she’s laying down getting a tattoo and he’s kissing her and then two weeks later he breaks up with her over text.
It’s just, it’s almost comical at this point. And look, whoever Gleb’s partner is next year, assuming it is some young, younger hottie, everyone’s going to assume he is hooking up with her and, or they’re going to start dating. Like, Gleb should never be partnered with anybody that the audience can’t speculate will be a potential hookup or girlfriend of his.
Because that’s what gets people talking. Let’s be honest, I don’t think anybody wants to see Gleb with a 60 year old former actress. It’s just Not what people want to see because this is what they get out of him. Now, I don’t know if he’s doing this just to generate headlines. I don’t know if he’s doing this every season just because he loves the attention.
It’s very possible. He is, I don’t know his motivations, but when you’re constantly linked to your partner and none of it ever works out ever. And to the point you’re breaking up with her over text one week later, After you get eliminated and literally two weeks after we see you kissing at a tattoo parlor with her.
It’s just, it’s, it’s laughable at this point. It really is. So I wanted to get to a reader email that came last week that I never got to. It’s a short one. It says, Steve, I had to wait to finish watching the challenge before I could submit my question. Here it is. How do you feel about Bananas this season?
I disliked him for the longest time until I learned your perspective on him. However, I found him arrogant and unlikable this season. What are your thoughts? Okay, I’m, I’m confused about how you said you disliked him for the longest time until I learned your perspective on him. I guess I’m questioning what you think or what you remember my perspective on him being.
I’ve always said bananas is arrogant and he’s full of himself. So that’s never, I’ve never been like, Oh, this guy’s a great guy. No. What I will say about bananas is this. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s trying to make good TV. He gives good soundbites. He is a good competitor. He’s won more challenges than anybody in the history of the show.
And he looks at these shows as a way to make good television. Yes, he would like to win as well, but he also knows what he has to do when he’s cast on these shows. Would I ever let him date my daughter that I don’t even have? No. Would I ever set him up with anybody that I know? No. Do I think he’s had some horrible problematic behavior in the past?
1, 000%, but what I’m doing is I’m separating his behavior in the past, which was God awful to just the Johnny bananas on the current season of the challenge. He hasn’t done anything on the challenge this season. That wasn’t pro that was problematic. He’s just playing a game. He’s poking the bear on contestants.
He’s trying to get under Devin’s skin, which he did. This is what Bananas does. He’s good television for the show. Outside of that, I don’t really think of him much as a human. You know where I stand on the Bananas Morgan Willett relationship, and what happened there. I’ll always side with Morgan on that.
And, but when I watched the challenge, I’m not like, Oh, he did that to Morgan. I don’t want to see him do. I don’t, I don’t really care if bananas does well or doesn’t. He makes entertaining television. He does give good soundbites, whether you like him or not, but is he conceded? Is he self absorbed? Is he absolutely stuck on himself?
Of course he is. That’s who he is. You got to know that going into every season. This is the way he’s going to act. He’s never not acted this way outside of, you know, when he first started, he didn’t have that confidence and he didn’t have seven wins under his belt that he constantly reminds everybody of.
