Daily Roundup 10/29 – Two Possible Connections With Joan’s Men?, Gleb Acting Like A High Schooler, LIB Reunion Show Glow Ups, Justin Hartley Has Given Me An Idea, Anna Kendrick’s New Movie, & Another Recurring Dream Happened

A little bit of a shorter show today. I’m going to talk, uh, about, I’ve told you one of my man crushes is Justin Hartley. And this wasn’t just because of this is us. I started with Justin Hartley back on Smallville. When I watched every episode of those, what, nine, ten seasons of Smallville? Can’t remember how many.

But he came in, I don’t know, season three, season four as the Green Arrow. And I swear, Justin Hartley looks the same now as he did when he was on Smallville 10, 15 years ago. It’s crazy. Does this guy age? He’s in like the most ridiculous shape. He’s on Tracker now, which appears on Sunday nights. It’s the most watched scripted show on television, I believe.

And they always, always try and shoehorn in one scene. Every episode of him shirtless this past Sunday, he was on it with his wife. Sophia, is that her name? Sophia Pernis was married to Chris shell. And now he’s with Sophia Pernis. Either way, she was on the episode. I haven’t watched it yet. I just know she was on it.

I’m one episode behind. He did an interview and he talked about his Kevin Pearson character from this is us. And basically was talking about the fact that, yeah, I know a lot of people think he’s an asshole and partly seems to think, you know, he’s a little misunderstood. Yeah, maybe he might be an asshole, but you sit there and go, man, I wish I could help this guy, but you just can’t.

So he was just talking about diving into the character, but it just reminded me of, this is us and how good that show was and. I don’t think they’ll ever do not a reboot, but I don’t even think they’ll do a reunion show. But if they ever decided to come back with a two hour episode and an update of the Pearsons and where they were, do you think anybody would ever complain about that?

I don’t think so because a show like that wasn’t, it wasn’t like lost where some people are clamoring for a better lost ending. And could you bring that show back? That show was filled with too much mystery and intrigue. I think a show like this is us could easily do a two hour. Here’s where everybody is now.

I know that the finale fast forwarded to the future. I get it of the mom dying, but I wouldn’t be against it. I, I’m not saying it’s being talked about because I haven’t read one thing where it’s being talked about. I’m just saying when I saw the story about Justin Hartley and him talking about Kevin Pearson and his character, I just, it brought me back to that show and how good it was.

I remember, didn’t it like start during COVID? Started a little bit before COVID. Yeah, that’s right. No, what am I talking about? It was like season four COVID. I’m just saying they addressed COVID on the show, but you know what I’m mixing up with? Ted Lasso. Ted Lasso started during COVID and it was just a show that I think took off because of where we were in the times and everybody was at home and Ted Lasso is such a feel good show and it’s something that I guess we all needed as a country.

Just, we were just so sick of hearing such bad news all the time. And to get a guy like Jason Sudeikis playing Ted Lasso, who’s just so positive good times, but this is us for sure, for sure. I would not be against a two hour show to bring that cast back. I really wouldn’t. And finally, actually two, two more things to go over one Anna Kendrick.

She’s in my top five, even though, you know, me, I, I say everybody’s in my top five, it’s probably about 20 women in Hollywood that are in my top five, but she’s definitely in it. And. She did this movie that got released on Netflix called woman of the hour. I didn’t know a damn thing about this story, but I’ve seen it so much on, I’ve seen it promoted so much.

I follow Anna Kendrick on Instagram. So obviously you saw all the promotion that she was doing for it. And I was just like, what, what is woman of the hour? She stars in it and she directed it. And it’s about a woman who appeared on the show, the dating game back in the late seventies and the guy that she picked ended up being a mass murderer.

Not only. He wasn’t a mass murderer after he went on that show. He had already killed numerous people. So it just goes to show kind of like what we’re dealing with now, everybody complaining about the bachelor and bachelorette letting guys on who had restraining orders against them. Yeah. In this late seventies, the dating game had a contested on that one.

Who had murdered people. Obviously the internet wasn’t around. Then it was probably a lot easier to get away with something like that and get on a game show with that in your past than it would be now I’m guessing zero people could ever get on a dating show or any TV show now with murders in their background, but whatever the case, it’s called woman of the hour.

It’s on Netflix. I haven’t watched it yet. But I’m curious, anybody that’s watched it, have you seen it? Did you like it? Is it good? The trailer that I saw for it looks like chilling. Now, the thing is she plays the woman who was the object of the three men who sit in the chairs on the other side of the wall.

And the guy that she chose was this guy who was a mass murder. She never even went on a date with him. So it’s not like she’s the one that dies. It tracks kind of his life and then his appearance on the show. So it, I think it tracks the stuff that he did in his life before he went on that show and then after, but she even talks about, she didn’t get a good vibe from him.

He was very creepy, all this stuff. And I’m intrigued by it. I want to watch it and I’m probably going to watch it soon, but just wanted to know anybody out there that’s watched woman of the hour on Netflix, is it any good? Or is it built up to be like the trailer makes it seem better than it is. Anyway, I just thought I’d point that out because I keep seeing stories from her and her doing interviews promoting this and I’m, she was just on Call Her Daddy as well.

And I just want to know if anybody has seen it and is it good. And then one final thing, um, I had a dream Last night or the night, sorry, the night before, cause you’re listening to this on Wednesday, my Monday night dream into Tuesday morning. So, so bizarre before I went to bed on Monday night, I was just scrolling Tik TOK or Instagram or whatever.

And I saw a bunch of YouTube clips of Norm Macdonald doing standup and what happens a lot with me. It’s been going on ever since I can remember is a lot of the time, not every time, but a lot of the time. The last person I either talk to or I am texting with before bed ends up in my dream somehow. So, Norm MacDonald ends up in my dream Monday night into Tuesday morning, and it’s really weird because, again, I was at some comedy club, and I was told I had to do five minutes, Followed by getting off stage after five minutes, letting other people go.

And then I had to do a 10 minute standup and it was, once again, this is part of my, one of my four recurring dreams where I have to get on stage at a comedy club. And I’ve got nothing, I’ve got no material yet. I had either signed up for it or I was picked to do it and I had no choice. I couldn’t like not do it.

And I don’t know why, you know, dreams are weird, but it happened again the other night. And it involved Norm MacDonald. And he was telling me, Steve, you got to get up there, man, run your stuff. I’ve heard you before. You’re good. I’m like, how have you heard me? I’ve never done standup in my life. Norm. Hey, Steve, of course you don’t stand up to my Norm Macdonald impersonation, but just bizarre.

So let’s see what happens tonight if I get another one of my other four recurring dreams. Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple podcast. Also rate and review, but you got to hit like it’s the only way it counts as a download sports daily. We’ll be up in an hour from now.

Check that out again. Back tomorrow with yet another Daily Roundup and until then, I will talk to you tomorrow. See.
