You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality Steve Podcast. I’m your host, Reality Steve. Thank you all for tuning in on this Wednesday. This is going to be a little bit of a shorter show. Yesterday was an absolute shitshow runaround for me. I’ll explain why it’s family related.
And, we are also going to talk a little bit about Dance With The Stars. Pete Davidson and Maria Georges.
Well, according to a report, they were an item and a breakup between them sent Pete into rehab. Got a lot of problems with that story. And the appeal appellate brief that David Gingras filed is online now and tomorrow. We will hear from Rachel Juarez, who has read all 73 pages and is going to give her take for the layperson.
Because, as we know the other night, Gingras read the first 15 pages, and I started reading from page Right after that, 16 and 17. And after about two pages, I’m like, okay, I don’t understand any of this. Obviously I’m not in law. I’m not going to pretend I know what any of that stuff means. That’s why we’re going to have an expert on a family law attorney and get her thoughts on it.
And that’ll be on tomorrow’s, not the weekly podcast. It’ll be on the daily roundup. Anyway, we’ll get to all that momentarily. It’s broadcast brought to you by cacao bliss. Don’t miss out on the delicious way to support your health and crush those cravings. Okay. I just wanted to mention this because it consumed a lot of my day yesterday.
That’s why I think today’s show is going to be a little bit shorter. Just not a lot of stuff that I can go over here because I was so preoccupied with family stuff. My father fell early in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday morning, basically midnight, Tuesday morning. And unfortunately had a rather severe injury in that he tore his quad.
My dad is not young and. So this was being dealt with all yesterday. He should have been, he should have obliged. And when they asked him, do you want to go into a rehab facility? You want to go home? I guess he didn’t think it was a big deal that he tore his quad. So he’s like, I just want to go home, but they brought him to my place.
And that was very, very difficult to get him. And he had, he had a leg brace on for all the way from his ankle, all the way up to his past his thigh. And obviously a leg that you can’t put any pressure on. Crutches were not working at all. We had to put them on my office chair and wheel the office chair to get him to the bedroom, to lay him down.
I mean, it was just, and then we had to call his doctor yesterday, get him in and say, look, he cannot, like, I don’t have the facilities here at my place to house somebody that can’t get around. And. So we had to say, look, he has to be in a hospital overnight and he has to have surgery as soon as possible.
And the good thing is found his doctor. Doctor was very nice and said, I can get you in tomorrow. So he’s having surgery today and then he’s gonna be in a hospital for a couple of days, then probably sent to a rehab facility because he needs 24, seven care clearly because he can’t move without. severe help, you know, he’s can’t put any pressure on one of his legs and it’s basically sticking straight out because he’s got a giant brace on it.
So it was just a long day yesterday and just a lot to deal with. And we pushed through, but good thing is he’s having surgery today. It’s a very, I don’t want to say it’s simple surgery. Obviously I couldn’t perform it. But when speaking to the doctor, the doctor showed us a video of exactly what he will do.
It’s a surgery that he’s done numerous times. Basically, you know, take those quadriceps muscles that tore away from the patella tendon the patella and suture them and get them back together and then perform the surgery. It’s going to be quite a few weeks to strengthen that muscle to where he can walk again without any help.
And, you know, it’s, he knows it’s a long road ahead. And so we’re prepared for that, but. Yeah, obviously just scary when your parent lives alone and they fall, you know, so that’s what I dealt with yesterday And there’s just wasn’t a lot like I said to to go over and anything else in the space But there are a couple stories that I want to get to the first thing is living in a Dallas Fort Worth area You probably don’t care much about Dallas Mavericks basketball, you know me if you’ve listened to this long enough I’m a season ticket holder The Dallas Mavericks this year got away from the regional network and they have their own app that broadcasts the games.
You can pay 14. 99 a month because not every service carrier carries their game on regular television. Well, there is a channel out here in Dallas that carries their games, but there’s about, it’s either 12 or 15 games this year that is also going to be carried on ABC. Well, one of those was last night.
You know what that means? Dancing with the stars basically gets preempted and it doesn’t get shown till one o’clock in the morning. So I’m not going to wait until one o’clock in the morning to watch dance with the stars. I already read, I already read what happened and the results. So I didn’t really need to watch the dances.
I’m probably not even going to go watch the episode today, just because. I already know no one got eliminated. You know, they surprised everybody. They had the bottom two, the bottom three, but Chandler, Joey, Ilona, Danny, and Steven all made it to the finals next week, which haven’t they done that before? I think they pulled that once.
Maybe it’s a couple of times they’ve pulled it where they didn’t eliminate anybody in the semis and everybody made it to the finals. Maybe people that are more well versed in the statistical stuff about Dancing with the stars would know this. I don’t know. It just seems like I, I felt like this has happened before I could be wrong, but I did read that Joey got his first perfect score of the season.
Usually when you get to the semifinal episodes, there’s plenty of thirties given out. I don’t, I don’t remember reading all the scores last night, but I’m pretty sure Chandler got it. Joey got it. Maybe someone else did, but well, yeah, when you’re the episode before the finals, if people aren’t getting thirties, it’s like, okay, well then did they even improve this season?
Because. You kind of got to get there. And it’s also the reason why judges score the way they do. They want to build a team’s score up all season long. Because if you’re giving out 30s in Week 3, there’s nowhere to go but down. So, you know, I don’t think anybody’s gotten a 30 in Week 3 before, but I’m just saying.
You’ve seen how the scoring goes on this show. A really good score in the very first episode is eights across the board. Maybe you’ll get one nine and then the next week it’s eights, maybe a nine. And then the next week, maybe you get two nines in an eight. And then the next week in week four, maybe it’s two nines in an eight again, or two eights in a nine and then week five, maybe you get your first 10 of the season, like.
This is the way the show goes. Totally understand it, but when you’re in the semifinals, you got to be giving out 30s because and then in the finals, usually everybody just gets 30s and the separation between the top team and the bottom team is maybe two or three points. So it’s basically all coming down to the voters anyway, but Your guess is as good as mine.
Who’s going to win this thing. People are telling me that Chandler isn’t as, isn’t resonating as well with the audience on social media in terms of her video views, the comments that she gets when dance with the stars posts or videos, I don’t follow any of that stuff. I know it’s relevant because we know the voters.
Have a much bigger say in the winner than the scoring. I haven’t followed it too much. I’ve just heard what a couple of people have sent me about that. So I don’t know, maybe Joey can win this thing. He’s the first bachelor to ever make the finals. We know the bachelorettes have done really well with winners of Melissa Rycroft and Caitlin Bristow and Hannah Brown.
They’ve done really well, but we’ve never had a bachelor get to the finals of dance with the stars until Joey did it last night. So congratulations to him. This podcast brought to you by.
