Daily Roundup 11/22 – An Update On My Dad’s Surgery, Yesterday’s Podcast Interviews, Survivor Votes Out A Threat, Josh On The Challenge Gets Boat Raced, & What I’m Doing Today

Survivor on Wednesday night, we had one of the big names, I would say, eliminated, and it was almost unanimous. I think the vote was 7 2, maybe it was 6 2, I can’t remember how many people were left, but Gabe is gonzo. Kyle won a solo immunity, his fourth win, he is one away from tying the record.

Here’s a question that I had, though. You saw that immunity challenge, we’ve seen it before, where you basically just have to balance a ball on a plate,

However, did you see Kyle had the plate on his hand, but the plate was big enough and he had it like back far enough in his hand to where he was also using his forearm to balance? Everyone else just had their hand. Obviously this has already been filmed over, you know, A long time ago. Well, no, I mean, over six months ago, I think the, I think this season filmed in April and May of last of this year, regardless, you can’t do anything about it now.

But Jeff probes does a podcast. Did anybody bring that up on his podcast that aired today? Because that seemed like cheating. Not that Kyle was trying to, but I would think somebody would have stepped in and said, Kyle, you can only use your hand to balance this using your hand and your forearm. That is.

An absolute advantage. Nobody seemed to bring it up. I, every time they kept focusing in on Kyle, I’m like, how is he able to use his hand and his forearm to balance that plate? Nobody else is, they just have their hand. I don’t get it. Something that happened at Tribal, which we see usually once a season, maybe a couple times a season, where it started raining down on them.

This is the exact reason. As much as I love Survivor, my favorite reality show of all time, it’s one of the reasons I would never go on Survivor, among other things. Like, I don’t want to have two legs that are just decimated and eaten by bugs. Number two, I have zero interest in sleeping outside. I don’t care if it’s 75 degrees every night in Fiji.

I’m not sleeping outside on bamboo. No, thank you. Hell, if you told me Steve for 26 days, I want you to sleep out in your backyard and just put a towel on the ground. I’d be like, no thanks. That’s, and that’s better conditions than what you’d be getting on survivor. And then number four, or maybe this is number five.

I’ve already forgot how many points I made. I’m not interested in being rained on all night long. It’s. No, thank you. Can you tell I’m not an outdoorsman? Do you kind of get that sense that yeah, maybe Steve isn’t really roughing it very often. I’ve never been camping in my life. Honestly, zero interest in ever going camping ever, unless I’m in a camper.

I don’t want to sleep in a tent outside in the woods, but I would go on a camp or somewhere and sleep in one of those giant campers that’s got like air conditioning and beds. A kitchen and a stove. Yeah, I do that. Sign me up for that, but camping in the outdoors. It’s not me. Sorry. I’d rather be in my office.

I’d rather record 10 podcasts in a row and go camping. I do 10 podcasts in a row for a week straight. Then go camping. Yeah. It’s just not for me. If it’s for you, Hey, different strokes for different folks. It’s just not for me. I like to be covered. I like to be in arenas. I like to be in hotels, just not an outdoor guy.

Never have been, never will be the challenge. Let’s talk about this briefly because Josh. Lost again in an elimination. And I saw this on Twitter last night. There is a Twitter account that keeps statistics challenge stats on Twitter. Josh now has alongside Jasmine, the second worst elimination record of all time.

People that have played in at least five eliminations. Danny and Tyree are 0 and 6. Jasmine and Josh are 1 and 7. Robin is 1 and 6. DM is 1 and 5. Rest in peace. Derek and Jessica are 1 and 4. So when I see statistics like that, and then I see Josh constantly every season saying this is going to be my season.

I worked out hard and yes, Josh’s body looks way different this season than it has in past season. He clearly did a number on his body and gotten much better shape for this season. Now we come to find out. In his interview that he did with EW. com after Wednesday’s episode airs, we find out that he actually got stitches in his knee after the second challenge of the season.

He says he doesn’t want to make excuses and that’s the reason he lost because he thinks that Corey being a former college football player, that challenge was built for Corey. And somebody with way more speed than Josh was going to beat him. He was just disappointed that that’s the challenge that he ended up in.

Regardless. I know Josh wants to stay positive and I know Josh likes saying my time will come. Really? Just, I, I, I don’t, I don’t know. If Josh’s time is ever going to come on this show when you’re one in seven in eliminations, and it seems like every season you go out in a blaze of glory, like you’re really not that competitive in the eliminations that you do participate in.

And is there a little part of me that will always feel something a little negative for Josh? Because when I was dating in particular somebody back in 2020, he was hitting her up and texting her while I was on the couch with her. Yeah. So I’m not really thrilled with that guy. But it was four years ago.

I’ve never spoken to the guy in my life. Maybe he didn’t know. I don’t know. I just, I thought he was aware based on the text messages, whatever. I just don’t think he’s a very good competitor when it comes to the challenge. He, even in getting himself into the greatest shape, he just, did he even win a daily?

I don’t think he ever won a daily this year. Did he? And then he gets boat raced in the, in the elimination by Corey for nothing. And it wasn’t even close. They could have run that 20 times and Corey would have won 20 to nothing. Final thing I want to say about the challenge is this karma points that we’re going to find out about.

I’m sure this is going to go into whoever makes the final, whoever has the lowest score is going to start with a one minute or two minute penalty on one of the final days. And look, yeah, it’s a little bit of a disadvantage. Hell, maybe it might be five minutes, but if you have a puzzle that is really, really tough and takes people could take anybody 45 minutes to figure out If you’re five minutes behind and it’s a 40, and it’s a puzzle that’s going to take the average person 45 minutes, it’s really not much of a penalty.

I think they are building this up to be something that probably won’t be all that big of a deal in the end. Yes, it’ll probably set people back, lowest scores, have a two minute penalty, three minute penalty, four minute, who knows? And the people who got great scores, karma points, probably get a head start.

Great. We’ve seen headstarts and penalties and finals before, and it hasn’t affected the outcome. I have a feeling that’s going to be the same exact thing this season. And finally, I want to say this growing up. My sister was obsessed. And I mean, obsessed with Judy Garland, wizard of Oz was always her favorite movie and because she watched wizard of Oz all the time, I watched wizard of Oz all the time, growing up middle school, I could probably recite that movie, most of it and all the main parts.

I know all the. The main parts that everybody quotes from Wizard of Oz. I do think it’s one of the all time classics. Great, great movie for its time. So obviously with wicked coming out this weekend, I’m going to go see it now. I told you a couple of weeks ago, or maybe last week. I’ve seen The Wicked Play, and I can’t for the life of me remember when I saw it, or where I saw it.

I guess it was when I was living in Southern California. Maybe I saw it at Pantages. Maybe I saw it at that place across the street from South Coast Plaza. It’s now called the Segerstrom, I think. I can’t remember where I saw it. I know I did, but it was so long ago. I don’t remember the plot. I know that Ariana Grande plays Glinda, the witch of the North, like the pretty one and Elphaba, isn’t she the young version of the Wicked Witch of the West who Dorothy threw the water on in Wizard of Oz?

So I’m guessing, and I don’t know the plot, but I could maybe put two and two together. This is the origin story of how the Wicked Witch of the West and the Wicked Witch of the East knew each other growing up, right? I mean, I’ll know in a few hours I’m going to see it today, but that’s it, right? It’s it’s their origin story.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I see so many things now popping up on my for you page of people that went and saw it and are literally in tears at the end of the movie, as we know, this is only part one, so I don’t know what the ending of this one is and where it’s going to pick up when part two comes out next November, but I’m looking forward to it.

I mean, I really, really enjoyed wizard of Oz. It is really a classic movie that I think every child should see, but I do I am interested in seeing Wicked and kind of reminding myself what this was about. And I do believe it’s the origin story, right? Of Glinda, Wicked Witch of the West knows the Wicked, the Green Girl, the Wicked Witch of the East, right?

Anyway, I will give you my unspoiled review on Monday’s podcast. I’m sure you’re all dying to hear it, but I am, I’m excited. I’m looking forward to it because I, I know it’s going to be good. It’s just a matter of how good, but. Looking forward to it. We’ll watch it today and I’ll give you my thoughts on it on Monday.

Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple podcasts also rate and review, but you got to hit play.
