No, I mean, to be honest with you, if I basically all I’m doing a podcast and you know, I’m trying to stay relevant other ways, but I’m not, I haven’t been used on anything.

So they just haven’t, you just haven’t been asked. The other ones have been asked. Sandra, Kathy, Susan, they’re just everywhere. And it’s because they’ve been asked to do it. Yeah. Okay. Wait, didn’t you come back? Wait, see now I’m totally blanking because all these seasons just run together for me.
Well, I was, I was at Joey’s finale. I was at Joey’s finale and all of us were on on, on the wedding.
You’re at the wedding, right? We
were all at the wedding, and then we were all on the, the show, the game show.

Yeah. . Oh my God. It, I blanked out. Yeah. And that was, that’s the last time I’ve done anything.
You weren’t one of the three women that spoke, I thought you went down to for, was it Jen season? Oh, yeah. Or Joey’s season.
Yeah. Oh yeah. I, I, that was you,
right? Who’d you get to speak to? I forget.

That’s right.
That’s right. You were on that. That was the last. Yeah. I was like,
yeah. But I mean, as far as after that none of us really have done anything.
Yeah.
And you know, I guess said you your friends with Teresa now. You guys, you know, have made, like I said, funny tick tocks together and yeah, you can answer this however you want. If you don’t want, if you know more than you just don’t want to say, I totally respect that. But after the story that came out last week.
With Gary and his cancer, I felt Teresa gave an interview literally 15 minutes after to get people went to her for her reaction.
And I
felt still there is a giant disconnect between those two. It almost felt like the right hand wasn’t talking to the left hand because Gary’s like, Hey, it’s played a major role in why I decided to end of things with Teresa.
And Teresa’s like, This is news to me. Like we’ve spoken about this. So I don’t know when you read that, maybe you already knew, maybe you already knew stuff. Obviously. I mean, I’m assuming, yeah, you knew that he had some form of cancer that came up in February. What is your take on the whole thing?
To be honest with you, I am friends with Teresa and she never, when we talked about his, his Diagnosis and the fact that he is probably going to outlive, you know, something that you outlive.
It’s, it’s very slow growing. So that never came up that that was part of the reason for their breakup. So, yeah, that was. Kind of news to me
and it was news to her and yeah, I mean, I, it’s just when I, when I read his interview first before Teresa’s even came out, I’m like, Oh, okay. This makes sense. Like I would, I get why you get this cancer diagnosis at 72 years old.
You know what? This woman that I just married rather quickly, maybe I can’t dedicate the time I need to and maybe we don’t need to move. When I read Gary’s interview, I was also under the assumption or just reading it. I felt like this was almost life ending and he’s like, I don’t have much time to live.
So that’s why I can’t continue with this. I want to be with family.
And
then I read Teresa’s and she’s like, yeah, he told me about it. This is something that he’s totally going to beat. And I’m like, oh, okay. So now I’m just confused on,
well, I, I, you know, I don’t want to speak in their behalf. I, to be honest with you, I, I kind of shared when Gary told me, I, I have a thing called a meningioma.
It’s a brain tumor, but it’s the same kind of thing. It’s very slow growing. If I wouldn’t have had an MRI, I probably wouldn’t have even known about it. I’m going to die with it, not from it. So I kind of equated it to that when I was talking to him about it. So I don’t know. I mean, I was trying to make him feel better, you know, obviously.
But I don’t, I don’t really want to speak on their behalf. You know, I just, I know, because I, I talk to Teresa or text with Teresa, usually daily, so I, and we’ve spent time together, we You
know,
we’ve had conversations in depth about it.
No,
no, no, that’s fine. I mean, about their break, about their breakup, not about, you know, the cancer.
And it does feel, and I mean, and I, you know, I don’t expect you to say anything, but it certainly, even in her interview with people, it certainly does seem that there is something that she is definitely holding back on.
Not saying she said it again. Like it wasn’t the only reason, you know, And I think she said that a couple of times now, but you know, I, you know, it’s understandable, but I think, and this is the one thing I want to say about the show, whether it’s golden bachelor or golden bachelorette, I, for me, covering the bachelor and bachelorette franchise, as long as I have, it’s just more about kind of snarking and making fun of it because the show is really the main show bachelor and bachelorette.
It’s just very easy to make fun of it’s silly. They focus on the drama and. And I’ve said this ever since Golden Batchelor started and I said it all during Jones season, it’s like, look, I’m not really going to recap the show because there’s nothing to make fun of here because the show really does, it just, Even though it’s at the mansion and it’s the same concept, group dates, solo dates, roses, it’s a completely different show than bachelor and bachelorette because they don’t want drama in the house.
And, you know, someone wants to tell me that, you know, the, the Kathy drama with, you know, What’s her face? That wasn’t drama. That was nothing. You know, the zip it stuff. Like, come on, that was compared to what we get on the bachelor and bachelorette.
I know. I didn’t even know that was even going on when it was going on.
That’s how much drama was, you know,
and they do such a good job. I mean, it was just, it is, I think people watch the golden bachelor, the golden mature at four. The relationships that the women formed with each other and yeah, that the men formed this past season, do you agree?
Yeah, I totally agree. I mean, excuse me, we’re all older.
I mean, these women are amazing. I love them all for all certain parts. They each bring something to the table and you know, they’re, I made friends for life and I, I’m really big about it. I mean, we went through an experience that we come home to our friends, but our friends don’t understand that experience, you know, so, yeah, I mean.
I agree. There’s really nothing to make fun of, you know, we’re all, they’re all in their 60s and 70s. And, you know, so,
and you all owned it too. It’s not like you were trying to pretend to be a 40 year old or whatever. And just out of curiosity, when you were being cast, did they tell you, Hey, everyone is going to be over.
60 years old on this show. Were you, were you fearful that, okay, I’m going on the golden bachelor and I don’t know how old this guy is until you said 10 days before filming, right? Did you think they were going to cast like some young 50 year olds or even late forties, or did that ever go through your head or did they tell you like, Hey, they were really sticking to older.
I, they never said the age I just figured because. Some of the girls, I was 64, and I thought I would maybe be the youngest because I thought we had to be 65 and up. But a lot of the girls were 60, Joan and Faith and Edith and a lot of them were 60. And so, but I, I didn’t think they were going to cast a younger guy.
I, I mean, when I found out that Gary was 72, or, I think he was 72. That’s, to me, that’s a little older than I would usually date. Only because I haven’t found one that that can keep up with me. , you know, like doesn’t thing like to do and all that. But he, he was actually in really good shape and he was, you know, a very, a very younger, 72 year Billy
looking at it now.
Mm-hmm . After everything that’s played out, everything you’ve heard Gary say. His relationship with Teresa, maybe things that Teresa have told you when you look back on it now, if Gary would have went through with his whatever promise or what he said to you, do you think you’d still be with him today? Do you think this could have lasted?
Wow. That’s no one’s ever asked me that. I don’t think wow. I think, first of all, I know one thing I would have never agreed to get married. I mean, I, I know they probably got pressured and all that and it was like now or never. I just, it would have been never then. I mean, I don’t need a TV wedding.
Don’t need that. I definitely wouldn’t have wanted that ever, ever. But so that would have been different and starting out different. We live closer. I mean, I live in Minneapolis. He lives, you know, we’re closer. When they told me he lives on a lake, I didn’t realize it was. Going to be 3 hours from the Indianapolis airport.
That would have been a little bit of a wow. That’s far, you know, kind of thing. But he talked about moving to Minneapolis actually so, to me and so. I don’t know. I mean, you know, everybody’s different and we maybe would have had a different relationship. So that’s very hard question for me to answer.
If it would have been you two, I’m sure you talked about it at some point, like, hey, if it’s going to be us, you said he was open to moving to Minnesota. I don’t know if you were open to moving to Indianapolis. Were you thinking of like the thing we had heard with him and Teresa was they were thinking of getting a place in, I believe, South Carolina, which is not where either of their families were.
Or I think she has some family
there. Yeah.
Okay. So would you have, would you have considered doing something, you know, equidistant? Or was it you’re coming here or I’m coming there? If it were to work, we
talked about being by Midwestern and then and then he, right before I broke up with me, actually that night we, he talked about moving, I lived downtown and he’s like, I don’t want to live downtown.
I said, well, I’m not married to downtown. I mean, you know, the Minneapolis is a beautiful city and there’s lakes everywhere and we don’t have to live downtown. So we talked, he talked about that. How he misses restaurants and. So, yeah, so I don’t know. I mean, would I want to move to where he lived? No, but I definitely would have maybe spent summer, some part of the summer there because I love lakes and.
All that. So, you know,
so here’s my exclusive
home.
So I believe you wouldn’t have known this because you were filming, but at the time, I think the day after the final three rows ceremony, when faith was eliminated, either the day after or two days after is when I had it. Cause I don’t think when the. Up until that point, I don’t think I had spoiled anything about Gary season.
The women hadn’t been, you guys, you guys were not released until right around that time. I think when it was at the, I think right around that time is when they said, Hey, here are the women for Gary season. And I, but right around that time I said, Hey, your final three are Leslie, Teresa and faith and faith was eliminated at final three.
So here are your final two women. And then. I didn’t have shit for, I mean, you said, remember it started airing end of September, I think it was midway through, I think it was midway through your season airing is when I finally was able to tell everybody, Hey, Teresa one, he’s with Teresa. That’s the woman that he picks.
If you want to know, if you want to know how I know that I found out, and I feel like I never reveal any sources here, but I’m not gonna reveal anybody by name because honestly, I’d have to go back in my email to look at the names, but it wasn’t
anybody from your family, I wouldn’t say, but I will say this, how I knew
Gary had not I’m not gonna reveal anybody by name because honestly, I’d have to go back in my email to look at the names, but it wasn’t anybody from your family, I wouldn’t say, but I will say this, how I knew Gary had not Chosen you and had chosen Teresa.
How do I put this? Like I said, I don’t know names. I’d have to go back and emails and look, and this was over a year ago. So it’s not really relevant, but let’s just say it’s through the FEMA restaurant industry is how I got my answer. And I don’t even remember who it was. And it was, and it wasn’t just like one person.
It was like it was like multiple people. Okay. That I guess word of mouth through David, maybe that I never spoke to David. I, it didn’t come from him, but David owns, David’s a chef, right?
Yeah.
He has the FEMA restaurant name in Minneapolis. It came through, it came through that circle. I was never told that Gary picked picked Teresa.
I was told that Gary did not pick Leslie. So that’s one way, that’s one way to put it. So I don’t know. I
mean, I, you know, I have three kids and maybe they have big mouths. I don’t know.
Yeah, no. And I don’t even know if I honestly don’t know if it came. I don’t know if it came from them. I didn’t speak to them.
I didn’t speak to David. I just know that I was getting contacted from people in the FEMA restaurant world that were like, Hey. Rumor is he didn’t pick Leslie. I was like, okay So and that and that’s and that’s how I got it. It was that simple, but I have never i’ve never said that before today I have never I usually don’t reveal stuff, but I was like, what does it matter?
It’s a year and a half later. Does it matter?
I hope not. I hope I don’t get fined.
Well, no, because it’s not even you because it didn’t come from you. No, it did not come from me.
I, I literally laid low. I did not. I mean, you know, people would, people would see me out. I mean, I, I, I teach classes and I have to work and I would go out and then people would, You know, or I do watch parties and, you know, people are like speculating.
Do you look happy? Do you look sad? Do you like, you know, all that kind of stuff. And it’s like, and then I broke my elbow on top of it. So yeah, I looked sad. So who knows? I have no idea. I don’t know.
It was interesting. I was just like, Oh, okay. Cause like for, from the time, cause everyone was like, well, you had the final three, right when it happened.
How come you don’t know who won? I’m like, I never know how I’m going to find out my information. I know eventually I’m going to get it. And it just all came about like right around probably two or three days before I announced it. I just had so many people in that.
Great, but it’s a very Minneapolis is a very small, big town.
So, and people know me and people knew me before the show because, you know, I taught my classes and again, my ex husband is a chef and, you know, anyway, so, you know, they, whatever.
It was more fun than anything. I’m just glad I got it. I mean, I don’t know. I was like, because I was, I mean, we were, it was halfway through the season.
I was fearing that, man, I don’t know if I’m gonna ever get this one. Like, I just, I don’t know. I know it’s between Leslie and Teresa, but I have no idea. And if you were to just ask me based on the edit through those first five episodes, I would have guessed it was you. I mean, I was the way it was. And I think maybe they edited a certain way so they could maybe pull a surprise on people at the end.
I don’t know. Cause it certainly seemed like it was you. He was mostly into you.
There are so many things that were left out that, you know, we talked about. So who knows? I don’t know.
So the one thing, the other, the other thing that you talked about post show is, I know you’ve said this, like, Hey, they never even talked to me about the Golden Bachelorette.
I was never even asked. Mm-hmm . I was never even, it was never even approached about it. But you were in talks with Dancing With the Stars. Mm-hmm . Last season. The one that, I guess that would’ve been charity. The one charity ended up being on. Right.
Other than that no, no, no, no. This season. No, I was this season.
Yeah, but Joey, Joey was always going to do it. I think they wanted maybe you know, somebody from our show and then Joey was always going to do it. Yeah,
did they, did you ever get a reason or just, did you, did you actually get told no, or did you actually get told no? They just ghosted you after a while The talks ended, or were you told, like did you get a call saying, Hey, we’ve decided to go in a different direction or whatever the
Yeah, I got a text.
I got a text, yeah. And, and I, I was in contact with them throughout the whole summer. I think it, I think it was just a perfect storm. I mean, there was a Olympic year and you know, just one of those things. And Jen, I, Jen didn’t take anyone’s place because they actually cut the cast from 14 to 12.
So she was the 13th person. So they did add her. So I don’t, and maybe they knew, I don’t know. I just think it was one of those things. You know what? They did talk to me. I’m sure they talked to other people too. I, you know, they could have been talking to some other bachelor people. I don’t know if anyone, I don’t think anyone in Golden, but, or maybe Gary.
I don’t know. I have no idea. But yeah, but yeah, I did not get a post to do Golden Bachelorette. I think Joan did a fabulous job and, and she was probably the perfect person. Golden Bachelorette. But I, no, I didn’t get, I didn’t get asked to do that.
Who would you say you’re closest to from your women on your season?
Is it Teresa now?
I’d say, well, Teresa and I were friends in the house. So I’d say Teresa, Ellen, Sandra. I love all the girls. I mean, I, I, I text Faith every once in a while. I do. I love them all. I just, I guess those, you know, you kind of gravitate towards A certain whatever and and that’s who i’m good friends with yeah,
have you guys done a girl’s trip?
Well, theresa, I was just in new york and she came to spend two days with me. So we did that She came to minneapolis last june We went to LA to watch Joey and Dancing with the Stars in October. So yeah, we’ve spent some good time together.
Oh, that’s great. I mean, like I said, I think that’s what people love about this show is just the friendships you’ve got now a cast of men who are right around all your same age.
Yeah, looky here. Mr. Jordan Heller becomes a name.
We’re just friends.
So it’s, so I mean, obviously I just, I gotta bring it up.
I’m gonna give an exclusive, Steve, okay?
Okay. It’s nothing. It’s nothing other than friendship.
Nothing other than friendship. Yeah. But
he did, he, he DM slid into you, right?
I did him actually.
And I’m not afraid to say that. I mean, he is, he’s really cute. And he, when he got the day or maybe the day after he got eliminated on the show he’s, you know, sad. I enjoyed watching you. I mean, the funny thing is, you know, I know people that know him, you know, two Jews from the Midwest. I mean, you’re going to know somebody.
Right. So, you know, yeah. And he’s, and we hung out in LA. He invited me to the soccer game. I was in a, I was in Chicago last weekend, seeing my son and we went to a couple of concerts. I met his daughter. I met Pascal. I mean, we’re just, we’re just friends really. We’re just friends. Yeah.

so we can put the, we can put the dating rumors to rest.
You can put the dating rumors to rest. I mean, you know, I think a lot of these guys have a lot of choices. Yeah.
Oh, wow. So it’s, it’s no, it’s, it’s no different than the main show. I mean, it’s kind of the way it works in bachelor world too. These guys that go on the show now have basically put out a dating profile to a national audience and all it takes is, you Any woman in any city saying you got
it.

Would love to meet up with you sometime if you’re in my area, you know
And the thing is too is like even though we’re close and proximity wise I still don’t live in a city. He still doesn’t live here I mean, i’m sure there’s plenty of women in chicago that are yeah, I mean the thing is All these guys have girlfriends or potential girlfriends and none of us have got boyfriends or, which is weird.
I was going to say, I thought there was some rumblings about other couples happening through this franchise. I don’t think so. I,
I, Uhuh, I, not that I’ve heard, I think, I think the, some of the women they were at Jones finale and I think they met some of the guys. I think, I think just friendships that formed, I don’t know, because I wasn’t there.
I don’t think any relationships have come out of it yet.
Have you heard anything in regards to a possible. Inclusion of the golden contestants on paradise next year. Has that been brought up? Nope
I mean, of course I hear rumors, but I don’t I don’t think so I mean first of all, we’ve all met pretty much so I like you know what i’m saying?
I I don’t know I think Guys tend to like women that are younger, another exclusive for you. So I don’t know. I have no, I, no, I don’t know if they’re going to do that. I mean,
I have a sense that, I mean, cause I know Jesse has said, and I don’t think Jesse would throw it out there if it was not now, I don’t think now the thing is, I don’t know if they’re going to bring in some of Jones men and some of you women from Gary season and put them on the beach so they can start dating each other.
I just feel like there’s going to be some inclusion of both casts, like in some form, maybe go down there for a date card, maybe go down there to speak to couples that are forming, you know, to give advice like you guys have given in, in other past seasons. You know, I have a feeling, I just don’t think they’re going to desert the whole golden franchise for paradise.
Yeah, maybe they will include some sort of dating. I don’t know because I don’t even think it matters Yeah, and I don’t even think it matters that the golden contestants Have talked and have met because yeah, plenty of the people from the bachelor bachelorette franchise talk pre show. So I don’t think it matters.
So I wanted to just kind of end with this and talk about where you’re at right now with. What have you been up to post show? Are you still your soul? 6, 12, 6, 6, 1, 2, 12 or 6, 1, 2. Okay. You got to say 6, 1,
2. Yeah. Only because 6, 1, 2 is the area code of Minneapolis. So during, during COVID and George Floyd, I formed this company.
So 6, 1, 2, because I was teaching outside and stuff like that. So,
and so explain to everybody what it is and how is it? This is daily. This is your Monday through Friday. Are you still personal training at lifetime?
Yeah, well, I don’t personal training lifetime, but I teach my class of that lifetime. I do pop ups.
Yeah, and I am a personal trainer. I do retreats and next month I’m going to Costa Rica for my fifth time. Doing a fitness retreat. So I do those. Either once or twice a year. I have a website, soul 612, and I kind of put all that I, you know, I can do accountability coaching. I’ve choreographed dances for like weddings and things like that.
So I’m keeping really busy and just doing, I love teaching. I, that’s my passion. Yeah, I just love it. So, and I’m pretty much doing that. And I spend a lot of time with my kids and my grandkids. And. You know, enjoying cold Minneapolis in the winter.
They’re all, they’re all your kids and grandkids are all in the Minneapolis area.
They’re all in Minnesota.
My oldest son lives in Chicago, but he comes home a lot. Yeah.
Okay. So what is it right now in Minnesota weather wise?
I’d say it’s about 33, but it’s really dark and gloomy. It’s yeah, it’s kind of,
I used to have to go to Minneapolis three times a year back in between 2006 and 2010, because I was in a business where I was selling to target.
And so I’d have to come there three times a year. I find it fascinating that your downtown is as cold as it is there.
I never had to leave a building.
Yeah, all connected. It’s like a giant hamster maze. It was just, you never had to leave a building. I was like, you’re like, Oh my God, you’re going to, and I had to be there.
And I had to be in Minnesota in January and yeah, it was one degree. I remember one time I went and I’m like, this is unbelievably cold. But the only time I literally was outside was when the taxi dropped me off in front of the. Marriott, the downtown Marriott on seventh street, that’s where I used to stay.
And
exactly. You don’t have to leave. You know, we had a big game tonight. We have Monday night football.
It’s right. Vikings and
yeah, we’re going to win of course. But when we had the super bowl here six years ago, maybe coming up in February, it was the coldest February we’ve ever had in the history of our February.
So that was not fun for the people that came. Are
you, are you an ice fisher? You do that?
No. Oh my God. No, no, I do not. No, no. I, I skate with my kids, my grandkids actually. And I snowboard with them, but that’s as far as it goes being outside. I don’t know. I’m a summer girl.
Did either of your husband’s ice fish?
No,
they do it.
It’s a huge thing out there. He’s lucky. He’s from Morocco. He’s, I can’t even believe you stayed here this long.
Did he already have the FEMA restaurant before you were with them or did it establish while you were with them?
Well, we met in LA and he owned a restaurant in LA. And so, Then when he came to Minneapolis, that’s when he started opening his own restaurants, but he did have a restaurant in LA. Yeah.
Oh, okay. He did. All right. Well, yeah, it’s a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff to cover and I hope it wasn’t too repetitive from the other podcasts. I didn’t want to spend too much time on
the show. No, I, I thought you did good, Steve. I thought you did really good.

And for that matter, she seemingly killed all the hopes and dreams of people wanting that golden bachelor women to get with golden bachelorette men. I mean, I thought it was funny. She essentially called them all out and been like, think all these guys or these men all want younger women. And I can’t say I disagree with her on that because it seems like these men, she made it seem like these men, she’s very well aware that these men have options now when they probably didn’t have many before, but Hey, It’s their prerogative, they can do whatever they want.
