Daily Roundup 1/8 – My Message For Grant’s Women Who Were Officially Posted Yesterday, Who’s The Only One Who Hasn’t Acknowledged Yet, Deal Or No Deal Island Premiere, & Ironic Movie Coming To Netflix

I let’s move on and talk a little deal or no deal Island last night.

Okay. There are two things that actually three things from the show last night before we even get to what happened at the end and who got eliminated and the game that they played against the banker. There’s three things about the show last night that. I’m either scratching my head at, or being like, Whoa, wait a second.

What the first thing, and maybe he said this at the beginning of last year, I’m sure he did when he announced himself as the host of the show, but I don’t know. When the host came out and introduced himself to the cast, he said, my name is Joe Manganiello. And I’m like, wait, that’s how you pronounce his last name.

I feel like I’ve heard it pronounced five different ways. And none of them were. Manganello. Manian, man. Mangan. Manganello. No, he just said Joe Man. Oh, Manganello. Sorry. I thought it was Joe Manian.

just that blew me away. ’cause his name was a name that I felt like for a while. Nobody really knew how to pronounce it and it now he seemingly gave the easiest pronunciation of it that we’ve ever heard Manganiello, so I guess we’ll go with that. The second thing was contestant Dixon. Did I just Mishear this story that he relayed.

So he said when I was a kid my parents ran a Chinese restaurant And he said there was an old couple, an old white couple that came in all the time and they really liked them. So my parents asked them if they would babysit for me and after a while I just stayed there and they raised me. What? What?

You’re, so, I guess there’s probably more details to this story. I, I, I have to know, did his parents just give him up to another family? They just said, here, raise our son. We don’t want him anymore. What? Because that didn’t sound like, cause it was like, Oh, my parents made me go live with my grandparents because of whatever reason they, they worked a lot or whatever.

My, my grandparents raised me. My parents were there, but my grandfather, this was, Hey, my parents ran a restaurant. These two people that came in all the time they really liked them. So they asked them to babysit for me. And after a while, I just lived with them. It sounds like his parents just gave him up.

I really need to understand what the hell went on there. I, that, that something was off with that story. I need to know the details. And what the third thing is something that absolutely drove me nuts about this show and about the reactions of some of the contestants about a particular topic, and that is who the banker is.

Do you understand how. Irrelevant. The idea of who the banker is is so irrelevant. It doesn’t matter if it’s a man, it doesn’t matter if it’s a woman, it doesn’t matter if it’s a nobody, it doesn’t matter if it’s an A lister that we eventually find out is the banker this season. It doesn’t matter. The banker is going to do the same exact thing Every single time.

And the banker is basically just a face for whatever production decides the twists they want to throw in the game. It, you know, let’s just use the example that poverty threw out there. Let’s just say Beyonce is the banker. She’s not, but let’s just say Beyonce was the banker. It’s not like Beyonce is actually making the deals on the show and coming up with the twists.

These people are acting like whoever is the banker is a big deal and they literally lose their shit over it. And I’m just like pulling my hair out, trying and just screaming at the TV, telling these people who cares who the banker is. It does not matter. You’re going to get the same deals. Let’s take, for example, last night, that guy, Luke goes and plays against the banker, 12 cases.

Six low numbers, six high numbers. It’s the same thing. Every time you play, if there was 18 cases, it would have been nine low cases and nine high cases. 20 would have been 10, 10, 16 would have been eight, eight. It’s the same game. Every time you play, there’s nothing tricky about dealer. No deal. It is literally luck.

Yes. You could have odds in your favor. But odds in your favor don’t mean you’re going to win. So, first choice, he chooses four cases. Two of them ended up being low, two of them ended up being high. Then his next round, he had to choose two cases. Both were low. So, with six cases gone and six cases left, of the six cases left, two of them had low numbers and four of them had the higher amounts, which is good.

But then he kept going and the next two cases he had to choose, he both, both that he chose were low. So now there were four cases left, three on the board and the one that he had chosen. And of those four cases, two had a low amount, two had a high amount. And he was given a 220, 000 offer, which was obviously in the middle between the two low amounts and the two high amounts.

So basically it was a 50 50 shot. But he chose to go again and. He had four cases left, he chose one case, and he ended up choosing the case he chose was high. So there were three cases left. Two of them were low, and one of them was high. He had a 1 case, a 500 case, and a 600, 000 case, but he didn’t know which one he had.

So, the offer was 218, 000. If you take the banker’s offer, and the banker’s offer is higher than the case that you have, then you lose. But if it’s lower than the case that you have, you win and you get to stay or you get, you obviously get to stay, but then you get to choose who goes home between the losing team.

And there were three people. So yeah, I know only two people could have gone home last night, but he went to the last case. And so with three cases left, he said, I’m going to open up one more case. And he ended up opening up the 600, 000 case. So there were two cases left. The one on the board. And the one he had in hand, one of them had 1 and one of them had 500.

So the offer was 300. It didn’t matter at that point if you took the deal or not, because you were opening up your case. It didn’t matter. And he ended up having the 1 case very first game. And he chose literally the worst case on the board. So there’s 1 in the pot right now. And obviously that doesn’t mean anything.

There’s still 10 times more. They’re going to play against the banker. It’s gonna be a shit ton of money in that thing at the end. But I’m just, I’m just stunned at how many people think that there’s really a lot of strategy involved in this game. There literally isn’t because even if he would have taken that deal, when there were three cases left, one was for a dollar, one was for 500 and one was for 600, 000, if he would have said, I’ll take the deal, And would have taken 218, 000.

So if he would have taken that deal, he had two small cases and one high case. So we only could have gotten beaten that they would have said, okay, I’ll take that deal, 218, 000. He had a 66 percent chance of beating the banker, but he chose not to. And he ended up losing. I just, I don’t understand some of these people that go on this game show.

I don’t think, I don’t think they know how to play. I really don’t. It’ll be curious to see how poverty does. And it seems like by the previews, poverty and Dan, the guy from Australia or Dave, Dave, or Dan, the guy from survivor, Australia, it seems like they’re going to go far because they seem to be in the show for a while based on the previews.

And I just, I look at this and there are just things about this game that some people, I just, it’s like, do you watch, do you know how this works? It didn’t make any sense. It didn’t make any sense for that Luke guy to turn down the 218, 000 offer when there were two cases. Now, granted, he ended up, he ended up, he would have lost.

Because he, well, he, he would have accepted 218, 000 and his, his case that he chose had 1. So he would have had to open that. We would have seen he had 1 and he made the right deal. Because he took 218, 000 over one, right? He would have won. Like I said, just because the numbers are in your favor doesn’t mean you’re going to win every time.

Because then, if that were the case, the game would be easy. It’s literally all luck. It is. There’s no, you can’t convince me otherwise. And finally, I wanted to get to this. I saw this as a movie trailer yesterday. And you probably saw me tweet it out and I just thought it was hilarious because the timing of it is just impeccable.

Amy Schumer, comedian, is in a movie coming out on Netflix February 5th called Kinda Pregnant. And it’s literally her playing a woman pretending to be pregnant because her friends are all being, getting pregnant. So she’s pretending to be pregnant and then she runs into like the love of her life and she’s faking a pregnancy.

And it’s just like after everything that we’ve been going through for the last year and a half with Laura Owens, now there’s literally a movie about a woman who is faking a pregnancy. And in the movie, Amy Schumer is faking a pregnancy by wearing a fake baby bump around. Which we now know, seemingly, because she’s never explained it since.

Because Laura Owens will only talk about things that she can skirt around when she was on a Zoom hearing. She had a giant belly bump on October 27th of 2023, right? October 27th of 2023, she had a giant baby bump that we all saw. She’s never addressed why she had a baby bump. Seemingly, it’s because she was pregnant, because on that hearing, when she showed her belly numerous times, even though she was moving it up and down, when she showed it, she was asked, Are you pregnant?

She said, Yes, I’m 24 weeks pregnant. They are 100 percent Claytons. Okay, now there’s a movie coming out. Called Kinda Pregnant. Hilarious. Anyway. Thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple podcast. Also rate and review, but you got to hit play.
