Here’s something interesting about Grant’s season, and The Bachelor in general, because While Grant season, I said this back months ago, before they announced when Grant’s first episode was, I said, look, the college football national championship is Monday, January 20th.
You can’t start the bachelor season before that because you’d have to take January 20th off. You’re not going to give us, oh, and by the way, January 13th was. NFL playoffs on that Monday. So you couldn’t start at January 6th and then take two weeks off and come back on the 27th. So we know that the bachelor season now cannot start until the college football national championship is played.
Well, next year, I believe the college football national championship is going to be on. January 19th, if I’m not mistaken. Yeah, it’s the 19th next year. So I can tell you already next year, the batch are starting on January 26th, assuming it doesn’t move to streaming or something like that. As long as it’s on ABC and it gets renewed, the bachelor can’t start until the earliest January 26th next year.
However, what’s interesting. Is 2027 because the college football playoff committee announced that the college football national championship in 2027 is going to be played in Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas. But that’s being played on January 25th, 2027, which means. The Bachelor, assuming it’s still on ABC in 2027, will not be starting until February in 2027.
And that’s interesting to me because it’s like, wait a second, we know that you’d be like, well, why don’t you just add it on on the back end, just keep it going longer and end it in April. They can’t because then they’d be going up against the College Basketball National Championship, which they don’t want to do, and they have to start Bachelorette filming in March.
And you’re not going to start Bachelorette filming in March while your Bachelor season is still airing. And yes, I know March Madness is on CBS and The Bachelor is on ABC. It’s just the whole idea. You want that out of the way. You’re not going to want to compete against the National Championship Game of College Basketball.
Just like you don’t want to compete against the National Championship Game of College Football. So, there you go. Probably a lot of you people didn’t know that. It only came out last week. But yeah, College Football National Championship in 2027 is going to be on January 25th, which means if we’re jumping ahead to 2027, that means February 1st is going to be The first day you could show the bachelor season in 2027 again, things can change, not in terms of the schedule because college football isn’t changing their schedule.
I’m just saying things could change in the bachelor world. Maybe it’s not on the air in 2027, or maybe it moves to streaming only. We don’t know. There’s so many things that can happen with this franchise, but keep that in mind. If you want to look ahead to 2027, we have one update on bachelor in paradise.
We know it’s coming back this summer as it was not around last summer. So they’ve got a lot of people to choose from. We’ve got Joey’s women. We’ve got Jen’s men, we’ve got grants, women, and then whoever the next bachelorette is, her men can have four seasons to choose from. Well, it was announced at the end of last week.
That there’s a new showrunner for Bachelor in Paradise this summer. His name is Scott Teddy, and he has executive produced Claim to Fame, Bravo’s Summer House, in addition to various Married at First Sight spinoffs. So he is going to be the new showrunner for Bachelor in Paradise. Overall, we don’t know what that means.
Because Scott Teddy hasn’t done an interview and said, this is what I plan on doing. Maybe we’ll find out as we get closer to June when they usually film, but there’s been all sorts of rumors that they’re going to kind of change things up. Oh, by the way, Scott Teddy also comes from, you go, you know, starting to go way back.
He started his career as an editor. When he worked on flavor of love and rock of love, he was the showrunner on the first season of duck dynasty before he became executive producer on Bravo’s spy games and winter house, Meredith for sight couples, cam unmatchables and ABCs claim to fame. So Jesse Palmer said this not much, but he said, I don’t know what those changes are going to necessarily be.
I certainly have my own hopes of what it might be, but I’m just. Really excited to get back to the beach personally and see our lovely cast and hopefully see some people fall in love and get engaged. He said he was expecting changes for the show, but any changes for Bachelor in Paradise, it’s all speculation and guessing at this point.
We’re probably not going to know what the changes are and until filming begins. Because this show is not the most transparent show in the world. I highly doubt before they go down there and filming, they’re going to announce what they want to do, because they’re probably going to want to surprise the contestants themselves.
However, based on a new show runner based on Jesse Palmer saying he’s expecting changes. I think we can at least spec something a little bit different. Number one, we know it’s not going to be at Sayulita. We know it’s not going to be at the place they’ve filmed every season, but season one, it’s not going to be down at the place where we know it to be with the day bed and them sleeping outside and crabs and bugs all around the rooms and stuff like that.
We know it’s not going to be there, but we also know that, and we don’t know the location. So that’s going to be one change. And then. How they do it. Are they still going to do it to where, you know, you have an initial cast and then people come in and then people are still coming in in week five and then they’re given this ultimatum.
Either you have to go to the overnight or you have to break up. Are they going to do that? Like I can see them tinkering with it here and there. I think the main point of the show and the main plot of the show isn’t probably going to change. It’s going to be a group of people down on the beach. There’s still going to be rose ceremonies.
People are going to get eliminated. People are going to come down on the beach and take other people out. So we’re so far away from it. We’re five months away from it. And like I said, this show is not the most transparent show in the world. So I really don’t think they’re going to just announce, Hey, this is the way Bachelor in Paradise is going to work this year.
I, I’d be surprised if we know anything until filming actually starts. And then eventually I’ll get spoilers and I’ll be able to fill you in. But I did want to say, Hey, by the way. There is a new show runner who’s never worked on the show before. So it’s not like they’re just promoting somebody from within this guy.
Scott Teddy is coming in from the outside. He’s never been involved with a bachelor franchise show before. So that could be good. It could be bad. We don’t know right now. So we just have to wait until this all happens in June when the show films. Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it.
