Daily Roundup 4/21 – Update on BIP Filming, How You Can Be a Part of Thursday’s Podcast, a Celebrity Relationship Launch, Major Death in Season Finale, & Jelly Roll is Everywhere

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Monday. We got a good show for you today. Gonna give you an update on Bachelor in Paradise. It’s an update from my last update that I gave, which was I think a few weeks ago.

I have an open invitation to send in some questions for this week’s guest, weekly guest on the podcast. I’m gonna talk a little tv. I’m gonna talk some celebrity relationship news as one hard launches yesterday, and you could have given me. 500 guesses, and I wouldn’t have guessed this couple was together.

We have a major, major death in a TV show that I’ve never watched before, but I have an indirect connection to it, and Jelly Roll is everywhere. Once again, we will get to all that momentarily. Now, when I last reported on Bachelor in Paradise. I can’t remember when it was. You’d have to scroll down My Twitter feed, I wanna say it was probably three or four weeks ago and I said filming begins but will begin end of April, beginning of May, and it is going to be in Mexico at the Costa SIR Hotel.

Well, that is not accurate. I don’t know if something fell through. I don’t know if it never was the case. What I do know is filming will begin next week, beginning of next week. So you’ll see contestants flying out this weekend. My guess is, or this upcoming weekend, not this past weekend. This upcoming weekend filming will begin right at the beginning of May, and it is not at the Costa SIR Hotel in Mexico.

It is also not in Saleta at the. Playa Escondida Hotel where they had filmed I believe eight of the Nine Bachelor Paradise Seasons. All I know is this contestants are gonna be leaving this upcoming weekend. Filming will start at the beginning of next week, and they are filming in Costa Rica. I don’t know the hotel, I don’t know any other details.

I just know they’re gonna Costa Rica. So definite location change. Kind of farther away than Mexico, I would say. But any other details? I say it all the time when it comes to this show. They are the least PR transparent show out there, so we don’t know anything. I know you’re gonna ask, well, who’s going?

And it’s one of these things where

until people literally. Walk down the beach, you don’t necessarily know if they are going to be on the show. And you know that some people that are already confirmed, we know Jonathan’s gonna be there and we know Hakeem is gonna be there. We know Zoe’s gonna be there. And if you look at especially the women of this past season.

I don’t think it’s hard to figure out who will be there, but we don’t even know if they’re keeping the same format of the show, if they’re just gonna have one cast in the beginning, if they’re gonna bring in people. ’cause remember, they have a new showrunner who’s never worked in the Bachelor franchise before, so they might reboot the whole thing.

We have no idea what’s going on. And if someone isn’t flying out next weekend, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not on the show. Because we don’t know if they’re gonna stagger people like they have in the past, or we don’t know if there’s gonna be eliminations or whatever the case may be. We know there’s gonna be rose ceremonies.

I, I would think, unless they’re really rebooting the show, but we don’t know how they’re gonna do arrivals and until filming starts and words starts floating around, we don’t know. And to sit here and say, I know who the cast is gonna be. Well, that’s not true either. I don’t know. I just know the cast they have to choose from.

We got charities, men, we got Jen’s men, we got Joey’s women, we got Grant’s. Women. We probably got any leftovers from Rachel and Gabby’s men. If there’s anybody they can get, look, they’re gonna fill with who they’re gonna fill with because. They don’t have a lot of men to choose from. ’cause obviously we know they’ve got, since there’s no bachelorette this season, that’s one less bachelorette season they’re gonna have to choose from.

So we got, the last two bachelorette seasons are Jen and Charity. So we’re gonna get, a majority of the men are gonna be from those two seasons, and then we know they are going to pull from past seasons. But there’s always randoms on there that like, wait a second, what, what season were they on? It’s gonna happen.

There’s gonna be people that you’re like, who? Oh wait, who are they? So just keep that in mind. But we don’t know for sure and we won’t know probably for until this weekend. You might see some people, and look, I’m guessing people who aren’t going to Paradise are probably going to want to trick people into thinking they’re going to paradise by posting a picture on a plane or something like that.

So again. Never believe social media 100% because there will be times where you are wrong. There will be plenty of times when you’re right. I’m just saying it’s never a hundred percent accurate. So filming starts beginning of next week, there will be contestants. I’ll be flying out Saturday, Sunday, and they’re going to Costa Rica and that’s where Paradise is filming.

So that’s the latest update I have for Paradise. I also wanted to say that this week’s weekly podcast on Thursday is going to be, it’s episode number four 40. It’s gonna be with Rachel Juarez, ’cause we are gonna discuss David Ingris filing for reconsideration. And you haven’t heard Rachel talk about the interview that we did with Ingris.

So we’ll get her thoughts on it. You’ll hear her. How she feels about how everything went down. And then she has read his reconsideration. We’ll go over it, probably pull it up. ’cause I’m sure there’s some things that she’ll want to go over in it. And just know that we’re gonna record with Rachel this week and she’s going to be the guest on Thursday.

So what I want to do is, because when we aired the episode, there were a lot of comments. It was. The first YouTube video, not the first, but of all the YouTube videos I’ve done since I started doing YouTube in July, it easily, the Rachel Juarez versus David Ingris podcast from a few weeks ago, easily had the most comments in it.

And there were a lot of questions in there. There were a lot of statements. So what I’ll say is this, because. I don’t wanna spend the whole time just going over everything that Ingris wrote, ’cause I think it’s gonna be a lot of what she’s already gone over. It’s just like, look, he’s gonna state this case and I just don’t agree with it.

So any questions you have for Rachel Juarez, please send them my way. Email me at steve@realitysteve.com or hit me up on Instagram or hit me up on Twitter dm. Just let me know. What question do you want me to ask Rachel in regards to the case? Maybe you have a hot bench question as well, but I wanna keep it mostly to the case.

Your thoughts, her thoughts on anything involving the case. If you want to get technical with, Hey, I looked up this case and what do you think about this, Rachel? Does he have a point here? Whatever the case may be. That was ironic that I said case may be. Anyway, email me if you want me to ask Rachel Warez a question.

You have until Tuesday night. I think we’re recording Tuesday night. Tomorrow night. So keep that in mind. And I just wanted to open it up to everybody ’cause I know people have questions, especially after watching the Rachel and David Jre interview. I think it was my most watched YouTube video since I started posting maybe the Clayton one.

But I think that one is almost at 7,000 views, which for me is a lot, you know. But I think that was the most, I haven’t looked at every single one that I’ve posted since July. That’s basically nine months, once a week. There were a few lives in there, so it’s actually a little bit more than once a week. I don’t know.

I’ve probably posted, what, 50 videos or something like that and maybe it’s like 60 and I haven’t, I I just saw the, the Rachel one, ’cause I was on it yesterday and I saw it was around almost 7,000 views. So. That seems to be the biggest one. And I know people have questions, and if you want to ask Rachel a question directly, just email me and I will read it to her and she’ll answer it on the podcast when we record tomorrow night.

Okay. I am very behind on Idol. I didn’t watch Last Mondays and I didn’t watch last nights, so I don’t even know where we’re at. Have the live shows started. I believe they started last night. ’cause I thought I saw on A, B, C when I was watching the Laker game on Saturday night on a b, C, I thought I saw a commercial saying Idol goes live.

But I don’t know if it was live last night and tonight, or if it just goes live tonight. I know there was a Sunday Monday episode, but anyway, I’m behind. I did see a headline where after last night, we’re down to the top 20. So I don’t even know who made the top 24 because I didn’t watch last Tuesday. Or excuse me, last Monday, the, the second 12 that performed in Hawaii.

I missed that, but I guess they would’ve announced. So those perform, that was obviously taped back in January. So 24 performed and then I guess on last night’s episode of the 24 that performed in Hawaii, we find out last night who the top 20 were. So four people that sang in Hawaii ended up getting eliminated.

Okay. I just didn’t read the names and I will get caught up on Idol, I promise. ’cause I do like Idol. It is frustrating because as I’ve told you numerous times, I said it last season, I’ve said it for a few seasons and I said it for this season, like the judges aren’t critical at all. It’s almost too campy now.

Nobody gets criticized. Nobody really gives, they don’t even really give constructive criticism. Everybody is just, what a great performance. You were great. The crowd loved you. It was so awesome. You made it your own. It’s just like really? Every single one of them is good. No, they’re not all good. Some of them aren’t very good at all and will never amount to anything.

Sorry, that’s just the facts. Other, you know, I don’t wanna say an amount to anything. I’m talking about their singing career. And are they gonna be, you know, a touring artist? Some will just be local bar singers and, and that’s fine. But the way these judges talk about them, you would think that every single one of ’em is gonna cut a record someday.

And that’s just not true. It’s not gonna happen. And I just wish they would be more critical. I wish they would give them constructed criticism. I wish they would say that performance didn’t do it for me. Like, they won’t even go there. Have you ever heard any of the judges say, I really didn’t enjoy that performance.

I, I can’t remember the last time outside of when Simon was on the show where they just said, I didn’t like it. It wasn’t you. You tried too hard. It, something along those lines. It just doesn’t happen anymore. So I’ll get caught up. I’ll find out. I’ll try and watch tonight’s episode, even though we’re in NBA playoff mode and NHL playoff mode.

So basically at nighttime now I’m watching games, or at least I have them on in the background. So I will get around to Idol at some point. I definitely will. By the way, I wanted to point this out when it comes to television. I promoted it for two weeks, and then when it started on A, B, C, I totally forgot to promote it.

These last two weeks, remember for the longest time I said Paradise on Hulu was one of the best new shows on television, and a lot of you watched it. A lot of you thanked me for telling you to watch it and you really enjoyed it. Well, for those that don’t have Hulu, it’s been airing on a, B, C on Monday nights, so it started two weeks ago.

Tonight is episode three. Another good one ends with a really good cliffhanger. It starts really. Pumping up the mystery of the show and maybe you can go back and watch on abc.com. If you don’t have Hulu, maybe they’re sewing it on abc.com to get caught up, but tonight is episode three of Paradise on A, B, C.

If you wanna watch it and you haven’t watched it on Hulu, but really good show. And if you watch, if you have Hulu, I would go watch it on Hulu. ’cause then you could just rip right through it and just binge. It’s only eight episodes long. So, but for those that don’t have Hulu, it’s airing on ABC’s on a, B, C on Monday nights.

So check it out.
