You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in a good Tuesday show for you. We are gonna go over everything that happened on Bachelor in Paradise last night. I’ve got a lot of stuff to talk about in regards to the episode.
We’ve got the look of it yet again. There is some major drama happening off screen involving Sam McKinney and a certain individual. That might have been the most entertaining thing that I saw last night on social media. We’ve also got Jill Susie Parisa and Allie Joe arriving. Got thoughts on that? Got thoughts on Justin and Susie, and I’ve got a hot take on Susie Evans and we will get to all that momentarily.
I do wanna start off with this real briefly in regards to the Laura Owens case. For those that don’t know, it’s not only Clayton Eckard that it was caught up in her web of deceit. It was also two men by the name of Greg Gillespie and Mike Marini. Well, she has had an order of protection out against Mike Marini and.
It was renewed by her, so she’s looking for a permanent restraining order against him, and he is going to fight it. He’s going through some tough legal battles with this, and he needs any help he can get. Any donation you can make, no matter how small it is, can certainly help. He started a GoFundMe yesterday.
It’s already up to $7,000. He’s looking for about 25 when it would basically cover the essential costs for him to get legal advice. ’cause he needs legal help in this matter. And he doesn’t have the funds right now to fight this. And this is a woman that’s looking for a permanent restraining order against a guy who is now married, has a child.
I met the guy, super nice guy, great guy to talk to. I believe his story. And you know, I don’t believe anything that Laura Owen says or does. So, if you could support in any way, I’d really appreciate it. His GoFundMe will be on my social media accounts at some point today, so, obviously. Giving you the address right now isn’t gonna do much, but I just want everyone out there to know and I’ll probably mention it on Thursday’s podcast as well, and I’ll put up the link.
So anyway, just wanted to throw that out there that if you could help Mike Marni in, in any way, fight this this restraining order that she has putting out against him looking for a permanent one when he has basically left her alone. But he shouldn’t have gotten one in the first place. We all know the burden of proof is very low when it comes to orders of protection and she got one against him and now she, even though he has left her alone and hasn’t done anything, she’s now looking for a permanent one and she’s making up lies yet again.
So if you can help in any way, would be very much appreciated. So let’s start with last night’s episode. You know, one thing I wanted to point out. Remember when I had Tess Higgins from the movie him on my podcast like three or four weeks ago on her Twitter account, excuse me, not her Twitter account, her TikTok account.
Tess d Higgins. Her most watched video is a video that she did where she broke down the editing and the look of this season compared to past seasons. And again, I’m just not gonna sit here and complain about them trying to make the show look better. Like of all the things to complain about when it comes to Bachelor in Paradise, I think having it look crisper and fresher and have it pop off your screen.
It’s probably not something anybody should spend more than two seconds complaining about. But Tess actually put out a TikTok about it and showed a clip from a previous bachelor in Paradise season and compared it to now, and I know that we’re seeing it now and it looks a lot fresher and cleaner, but when you actually see it in a scene right after she shows a clip from a previous Bachelor Paradise season, you’re almost like, wow.
The previous nine seasons really do almost look outdated, and yeah, you will not hear me not complain about how the show looks. I think it’s a, a fresh new look. I’m totally all for it, 100%. I’m behind the new look of the show and how it pops off the screen. So last week we had talked about the fact that.
After the first episode, a lot of people came out and said, no, I hate the fact that they’re got rid of the funny intros and got rid of after almost Paradise Song. Well, I told you last week, they’ve never had the funny intros in episode one. It’s always started in episode two. So I was curious. I said last week, I said, I don’t think they’re gonna do funny intros anymore.
I’d be surprised if they used a Almost Paradise. Well, I was one for two, kind of two for two because they got rid of the funny intros, although there were a couple of them that were, you know, somewhat humorous. Katz is pretty funny because it’s like a producer coming in. And she won’t get, she won’t stop posing for the camera, essentially, but everyone else is basically like running on the beach and then run up to the camera and just do a, a, you know, just a straight pose.
But they are doing intros and while they’re doing these intros, almost Paradise is playing, but it’s an updated version of Almost Paradise, not the song from the seventies or eighties, which again, fits with the theme of the show. They’re trying to make it look fresher, so. I’m fine with it. The other thing you complained about was on the Chiron, they don’t have the funny things written under their name.
They don’t have funny sentences like Dying of Heat or something like that. And then in episode two last night, what did we get on the Chiron? We actually got people, we got them writing funny lines on the underneath their names. So it has not completely gone away. For those of you that are dying to bring paradise back to its original form, they didn’t completely take that stuff away.
So our competition last night was a kissing competition where the men and women were split up and you saw it. The men had to choose which women they would want to kiss. The women had to choose which men they would want to kiss. It was done privately, and if both parties picked the other one, then they would get to kiss them.
This competition was just cringe, like it was awkward watching that because some of them, you could tell, were forced and. It just didn’t look natural. It didn’t look comfortable, and I’m honestly sure it wasn’t comfortable for them. The contestants, I’m sure they, if you ask them maybe privately, I’m guessing a lot of them would say outside of the one, they were already, like, Jess and Spencer aren’t gonna complain about that competition.
Dale and Kat aren’t gonna complain about that competition. But didn’t Dale get to kiss three or four women and Kat only kissed Dale? Either way, what I’m saying is. The couples that were pretty solid, they weren’t gonna, they, they guarantee wouldn’t complain even privately. But the other ones, it’s almost like, yeah, I know you chose them and they chose you, but still I’m sure there’s a part of you that’s like, and it was just cringey to watch.
And once again, we have a competition that doesn’t lead to anything in terms of. I think they could have made it to whoever got the most matches, that they get some sort of advantage. Maybe they get a date card. I don’t know, but it just seems like, okay, I appreciate the fact that this show is throwing in competitions this year and making it a little more interesting.
However, there’s no advantage, there’s no consequence. Nothing comes from these. Competitions Hell, as far as I know, the guys didn’t even tell who they were with. Oh yeah. I don’t think Dale went back and told Kat maybe he did privately, but I’m just talking about in the moment. Maybe after the filming was over.
He did, but did they tell how many people they kissed? I think that would’ve made it more interesting if everybody was made aware. Oh yeah. By the way. We’re done with this competition, but Dale got to kiss three, Brian got to kiss two, or whatever it was. I think they should have announced that they loved to be, you know, they loved playing on the drama last night, so why not throw that in there?
Didn’t make a lot of sense to me why they didn’t do that. I was kind of scratching my head, but I, it, it looks like, as far as I know, I mean this is only the first two competitions of the season, but. Both competitions this season haven’t given anybody any sort of advantage or you suffer a consequence by coming in last or gain an advantage by coming in first.
Nothing. So I don’t know if it sounds like or it looks like going forward it’s probably gonna continue in that manner, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
