So. I thought one of the lines that Danny delivered last night was very topical.
Obviously he said this a year ago, not knowing what was gonna happen this past weekend with the CEO at the Coldplay concert, but rumors going around that Jack’s sleeps with some of his employees at his bar. Not the least bit surprising. And Danny said, I don’t think anyone who owns a business should be sleeping with their employees that they write checks for.
Yeah. Tell that to Andy Byron. Three part finale. I mean, it’s a bit much, isn’t it? I knew. I knew it was gonna be one. We know that. I mean, the Vanderpump Rules season 10 finale reunion reunion show was three weeks, but this is gonna be three weeks seeing some of the clips. Yeah. But this was filmed in I think, March or April.
So obviously stuff has happened since then. Kristen has had her baby, Nia has had her fourth baby since then. So there’s a lot. I don’t know why they filmed these reunion shows. They filmed this reunion show when only they were, they were in like episode four or five of this season, and there were what, last night was the 13th or 14th episode of the season?
Maybe 15th. Why are they filming these reunion shows so early? I don’t get it. Why wouldn’t you wait as long as you can to film the reunion show? That I’ll never understand. That doesn’t make any sense to me. I mean, I don’t know if they gave them all the episodes. I, I would hope so, because like I said, they filmed this back when there had only been like four or five episodes that aired.
They had there 10 other episodes that hadn’t aired yet, so I gotta believe they gave it to them so they could watch because they gotta talk about stuff that happened in the show. Like how can you film a reunion show when these people haven’t even seen, I know they lived it, but they don’t know what aired.
I don’t know. Totally confusing to me, big brother tonight. Well, it’s going to be interesting because when we last left this show, Jimmy was the head of household and he nominated Kelly and Keanu and Adrian. But two of those three ended up getting powers during the last HOH competition. Kelly and Keanu did.
Mickey got the third one. Well, spoiler alert, if you don’t wanna know what happens tonight in terms of were power of Vetos won and used. I give you three seconds. 3, 2, 1. I think I said it on Monday’s podcast, but. The power of veto competition. Keanu’s Power was a former house guest is going to be brought in and play in the power of veto competition.
So Keanu, and they’re playing for Keanu or with Keanu, but if they win, Keanu gets power of veto. If Keanu wins, he gets power of veto. So two of the four people playing are playing for Keanu. Well, it ended up being Casey and she ends up winning power of veto. So meaning Keanu gets power veto, he took himself off.
Well, Kelly’s power was, she got to play a solo Power of Veto game. I don’t even know what it was. I’m sure it was announced on the live feeds and the reports on the live feeds, but I don’t know what it was. Either way, she ended up winning her power of veto. I think they said she’s the first person ever to win two challenges.
In the first two weeks of the season, Kelly takes herself off. So Jimmy has replaced Kelly and Keanu on the block with Will and Amy. Adrian’s the one holdover. So Will Amy and Adrian. One of those three is going home now based on something I saw last night. Now granted by the time Thursday’s eviction rolls around, there have been 48 hours that passed.
But again, we have a very close vote based on what I saw online. If it’s Will versus Amy. Right now it’s up in the air. They have five votes going for each one with Katherine Riley and Lauren undecided. If it’s Adrian versus Amy, they have a split vote. Five votes going to each one with Katherine Reilly and Amy undecided.
If it’s Adrian versus Will. It looks like Adrian is going home. There is a good chance Adrian is going home this week. So he probably needs to win BB Blockbuster. I mean, that would be best for his game, right? Because they didn’t, has nothing to worry about it. Now, like I said, I took this screenshot yesterday.
Eviction night isn’t till 8:00 PM Eastern time tomorrow night. So, so much could have happened. In the last, at least when you’re hearing this, the last 24 hours, but by Thursday, 48 hours will have passed since I read that. And there are other things that could have been established, but I don’t think we’re having a unanimous vote.
And it looks like the house is divided again. There is definitely a divide in the house. I know that will feels like it’s Will and Amy, I believe, have had a conversation how they’re kind of the outcast because they’re the older people on the show. They’re like the only two people over the age of 40 and it’s very tough to connect with a bunch of 20 year olds.
Like I said, if it was the other way around and there were a couple 25 year olds on the cast, and everybody else in the cast was over 40, those 25 year olds would be targeted. So if Will went home, would I be surprised? No. And he, I don’t think he said I’d be surprised if I went home. He just know he does.
He knows he doesn’t fit in because he is one of the older people. And I know Rachel is struggling not being there without her husband Renin. And I think there’s a, I think there’ll be a point where Rachel might be fine with leaving. ’cause it seems like based on something I read off the live feeds, it sounds like.
She’s talking about the fact that this is the first time she’s ever played the game without Brendan, and again, she is older, doesn’t necessarily connect with the younger cast, but she also knows that if people take her for a while and at least take her to the jury, I think she knows she can’t win this thing.
I I, I don’t think Rachel’s delusional enough to think that people would vote for her to win a second time. But doesn’t mean they wouldn’t carry her a long way, and I think that’s probably what she’s hoping for. Couple things that happened over the last couple days that were obviously some pretty important celebrity deaths.
Malcolm Jamal Warner drowned in a riptide that pulled him down in Costa Rica and Ozzy Osborne passes yesterday. Ozzy Osborne. It’s almost amazing. But he lasted as long as he did. When the Osborn’s TV show came on 25 years ago, he was in his early fifties, and you looked at him and number one, he looked like he was probably 70 back then.
He didn’t look like he was 51 or 52 when the Osborn’s TV show started. Not to mention, it just seemed like he was so out of his mind, but I, I can’t say I was a Black Sabbath person. I can’t say musically. I was ever an Ozzy Osborne fan. I wasn’t. But how it resonates with me is when the Osbournes came out on MTVI, if I’m not mistaken, they might have been the first family to get a reality show.
Now everybody’s got one, but they were the pioneers. They were the ones that started it all. And for people that don’t remember the osborn’s on MTV back in the day, I mean it was must see tv. It was such a train wreck. We had never seen anything like this on television because this British family was just f bombing each other nonstop.
The kids, you know, Kelly and Jack were just had the mouths of sailors. The parents cursed all the time. It was just now nobody would blink an eye at a show like this ’cause they all do it. But back then, man, they were the pioneers. And I, I could be wrong, maybe there was, maybe there was another family show reality show before them, but I, I, I wanna say they were the first ones.
So. That’s how he fits into the reality world. And then obviously Sharon Osborne’s been a judge on America’s Got Talent she was on, wasn’t she a panelist on The View? Kelly and Jack have both been on Dancing With the Stars. Right. And we’ve seen this whole family grow up. So yeah, it’s sad to see that. As for Malcolm Jamal Warner, I mean obviously this is a guy from my childhood, you know, say what you want about Bill Cosby, one of the worst human beings in what he has done.
That will never be forgiven. But at the time that we were watching The Cosby Show in the eighties, it was the most popular show on television. It was the number one show on TV for five consecutive years. Again, something that’s unheard of in today’s day and age of television. And then I printed out, or I screenshot this statistic, TV ratings 19 86, 19 87 year.
September of 86 to May sweeps of 1987, when basically the only channels that aired sitcoms and television shows were N-B-C-A-B-C, and CBS and NBC dominated the top three shows in the 19 86, 19 87 television season. Number one was the Cosby Show. Number two was family ties. Number three was Cheers. All on NBC.
And by the way, number five was Golden Girls on NBC. So NBC dominated. They had four of the top five shows on television. Fourth number four was murder. She wrote on CBS something that my family and I watched after dinner every Sunday night. And when they went to commercial break in the last 50 minutes, we had to write down who we thought would win or who we thought would win, who we thought the murderer was.
I don’t think I ever got one right. I was so baffled. I mean, I was 10 years old at the time and I just couldn’t critically think when I watched these shows. But here’s the numbers I wanna read to you. Cosby Show, number one show on tv. 1986. 1987. 30 million people watched a week. Number two was family ties.
28 million watched a week. Number three, cheers. 23 million Average watched a week. The number one show in the 20 24, 20 25. Television year network television was tracker on CBS and it got 11 million. It averaged 11 million viewers and there was no other show on network TV that got double digits. And look, I, I also understand we’re comparing, and I’m comparing apples and oranges here because how can you compare something in 86, 87 when there was no such thing as streaming and the only TV you could watch and the only shows you could watch that were.
Monitored or metered for ratings. Fox wasn’t even a channel in 86 and 87, so it was just N-B-C-C-B-S and a B, C. So that’s all you, that’s all you could watch when it came to sitcoms and comedies, dramas, whatever. But it is still pretty amazing that with 30 million people watch the Cosby Show every week, I, it’s just.
Clearly different times back then, but it is, by the way, that was the top five. Cosby Show. Family Ties, cheers. Murder she wrote in Golden Girls after that. 60 minutes night court growing pains, mood lining. Who’s the boss? All of them. Over 20 million. I mean, it, it is just fascinating to look at some of these numbers.
Hell, the 25th highest rated show of the 86 87 season was Dynasty. 25th and it averaged 15 million viewers a week, which is 4 million more than the number one show in the 20, 24, 25 season, like I said, which is Tracker. But again, different times. Anyway. Thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it.
Follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also, rate and review, but you gotta hit play. It’s the only way it counts is a download The Sports Daily coming up in an hour from now if you wanna check that out. Again, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
