Daily Roundup 7/28 – Big Brothers HOH Episode, BB Unlocked, The Challenge Season 41, Monday Night Reality TV, & Happy Gilmore 2

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in. Good Monday show for you. We’re gonna go over what’s been happening on Big Brother last night’s, HOH episode, the nominations who won Power of Veto. Yes, there will be spoilers involved in today’s podcast if you haven’t been following along on the live feeds.

I, I’m also gonna talk about the challenge. I had no idea the first episode had aired last Wednesday, but going through my DVR list, I saw it on there. I’m like, oh. I need to watch that this weekend. I’m gonna fill you in on another reality show that I’m currently watching, which I’m really enjoying. I’ve talked about it a little bit in the past before, but I’m all caught up on this season as well, and we gotta talk about it.

The biggest discussion in the world over the weekend, at least in my world. Happy Gilmore, too. Was it good or was it bad? I’ll give you my spoiler free review coming up. So let’s get started. Big Brother last night was the HOH episode at the time. I recorded Friday’s podcast late Thursday night. I did not know who had won, but we found out it was Lauren who has probably, I don’t add up screen time, but if I had to guess, I’m pretty sure Lauren has gotten the least amount of screen time of anybody in the house so far.

Right. Just looking at everybody else. I can’t think of anybody who’s got less screen time, and even when she did end up winning HOH, you saw the show, show everybody in the confessionals, not everybody, but about three or four people in the confessionals. I think it was Morgan and Rachel, just saying like, Lauren won HOH.

Okay. And they called her the biggest enigma in the house because she just, she’s obviously the youngest person in the house at 22 years old. Claims to be a huge big brother fan, but apparently it was revealed on the live feeds this weekend. She’s never watched the live feeds before, and I don’t know how you can consider yourself a big brother, super fan if you’ve never watched the live feeds.

Is that, that? That’s not possible, right? For me, all I’ve been doing is following along on Twitter of the accounts that reports what’s been happening on the live feeds. But do I read it every single day and make sure I read every single tweet? No, and I will not turn on the live feeds because I know myself and I’ll probably get stand up sitting there and saying, oh, lemme watch five or 10 minutes of what’s going on, and I’ll end up watching four hours.

So I’m staying away from it and I’m just getting the recap of what the hell’s going on on the live feeds. Well, spoiler alert, you got three seconds to mute or fast forward. Three, two, and one. We know who she put up. She put up Keanu, Kelly and Will three of the people that Jimmy put up last week, and the power of veto was won by Keanu.

So now, even though Keanu didn’t win it himself last week. He had Casey playing with him. She won it. So he technically got Power veto, so that’s two weeks in a row. He’s won Power Veto. He’s taking himself down. We’ll find out today who she puts up. But basically everything I’m reading online is she is either putting up Ashley or Adrian and she’s leaning towards Ashley.

And obviously you’ve got people on Ashley’s side, people like Rachel that are like, why are you putting her up? That makes no sense for your game. And then other people saying, you gotta put her up. The people that are not on Ashley’s side. ’cause basically the factions right now are all the women and Jimmy minus Kelly and all the men minus Jimmy and Kelly.

Those seem to be the two factions in the house with Lauren kind of in the middle. I don’t know if she really has a side, but if she does put Ashley up, I think she’s kind of choosing her side. So yeah, I would expect Ashley to go up. Again, unless in the next 12 to 18 hours something has changed on the live feeds from the time I record this till the time the nomination ceremony actually happens.

But yeah, Keanu won the power of Ito and he also won the movie screening and he ended up taking Rachel of all people and Ava. So I think he’s trying to get in good with them. And then I can’t remember who’s on lop. Jimmy is definitely somebody on lop, and I think Kat might be the other one. Couple things about last night’s episode.

Let’s discuss two women that I have no idea who they are because I didn’t watch Big Brother until Season 21. But the Nolan Twins, they were the ones reading the story as part of the HOH. Good God, they were on a season together. Do people like them? I look, I’m sure they’re wonderful human beings, but that was just like radio.

That was like tv, anthrax in my ears, listening to them tell those stories. For the HOH, no thank you. Now, I know there was a twin season, or did they try, was it one of those seasons where they both played or they had one in and they brought the other one in and swapped them in and out to try and trick the house?

I don’t know. I don’t even know if I really want an answer. I don’t care because they were incredibly annoying last night. I’m sorry, I’m just. It’s literally the first time I’ve ever seen those two women or heard them speak and I was like, yeah, I can’t do this. No, no thank you. I don’t think I’m going to back and watching Season 17, granted I’m not going back and watching any season of Big Brother, but if I were to ever do that, I would probably now eliminate season 17, ’cause I don’t know if I could deal with that for however long they lasted.

The conversation between Vinny. I believe Morgan and Ava, where Vinny didn’t know that pizza was called pies, at least in certain parts of the world. Look, I grew up in Southern California. I had never heard a pizza called a pie before, so that would’ve been me if I were, but Vinny’s 30 I knew before 30. It had been called other places in the country called it.

It called pizza pies. But if Vinny was younger, I’d be like, you’ve never heard that? And I understand Vinny is not from the East coast. It’s definitely an east coast thing. But yeah, growing up I had never, I thought that was the weirdest thing as well. But with Vinny being 30, I don’t know. I feel like he should have heard that by now that east coasters call pizza pies.

But I just think going back to Lauren as the HOH. I think we’ll see it more on Wednesday’s episode. She has no backbone, like she calls herself a super fan, and she said she wanted to win the HOH. She is having one of the worst HOH runs. All she keeps telling people is, I don’t know what I’m gonna do. What should I do?

I don’t know what to do. Like you’re the HOH. It’s your decision. You gotta lay it down and just say, this is what’s happening. I’m the HOH, I’m doing this. She is asking for everybody’s input and she feels basically swayed after she has a conversation with everybody. Ashley is literally sitting there talking to her and asking her.

And, and Lauren is telling her, I don’t wanna see you leave. I want you here. And then Ashley’s like, then why would you even consider putting me up? And Lauren’s like, ah, I don’t know. I’m just, I gotta, I gotta talk to everybody, you know, giving her one of those answers, which basically means Ashley’s probably going up, but yet she’s telling her to her face, I love you.

I want you here. I don’t wanna see you gone. It’s like, well, the only way you can guarantee that Lauren is to not put her up. And it looks like Ashley’s going up in replace of Keanu. Now, is Kelly gonna save herself again in BB Blockbuster? It’s very possible she can. Then you’re gonna have Will against Ashley, and I think if Ashley is up there against Will, she’s going home and it might be unanimous, but.

I don’t know. Will’s also giving off a vibe that he’s sick of, you know, being the old guy there that’s just going up as a pawn every week. ’cause everybody likes him. He might just be like, you know what guys? Vote me out. I don’t wanna be here anymore ’cause I can’t connect with any of you. That’s certainly a possibility.
