You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality C Podcast. I’m your host reality. Steve. Thank you all for tuning in on this Tuesday. Gotta go over last night’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise. ’cause I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. What the hell was that? So much to go over? One major storyline obviously to go over, and then a couple small things I wanna talk about.
I also want to talk about, I brought it up yesterday, the Instagram following from people that go on this show Now, how low it is. I’m looking at some of the top names on this season that are still on the show. Uh, it’s almost, it’s almost embarrassing how little follower counts you gain by going on this show.
Now, uh, I’m also gonna talk about big Brother real quick. What happened yesterday at the veto meeting and major, major news in Taylor Swift Land. I’m sure you know by now, but we’ll discuss it and we’ll get to all that right now. Let’s just jump right into, you know what, we’ll get to it in a second.
There’s a couple small things I wanna point out. Did you notice the opening theme song was the original Almost Paradise song? Not the Super House dance mix that they’ve been playing all season. They went back to the original. Now they didn’t show us the contestants in the open. No. We got pictures of animals with their names attached to it.
I don’t know. It’s whatever. I’m not gonna judge this show based on their 30 to 45 second opening of the show. But did you catch that? They went back to the original Almost Paradise song you probably did. As for the secret rendezvous game, that was so confusing to me. What the hell that was all about.
You’re telling me that outside of Jonathan and Le Leia, the two people that literally aren’t there for romance whatsoever, every other couple, not one of ’em matched up their answers. Not one
again, here’s the thing I, here’s the issue I have with it. We didn’t get all the questions and we didn’t get all the answers. So how do we even know this thing is on the up and up? It’s not like they finally got to share their answers with each other and be like, okay, let’s see. Jess and Spencer got four, right?
Uh, they matched four times, but Jess and Dale matched five times. It was just a montage of questions and answers after about the first three questions. After that, just a giant montage of answers and questions, and then we get to see the results and nobody. Matched with their current partner outside of Jonathan and Leia, who literally have the least amount of connection on that in that resort.
It’s it brings me back to what I said yesterday about the, are you my first dating show that Caitlyn and Colton are hosting? How do we know these people are virgins? In fact, I’m, I can’t prove it. They can’t prove it either that they are virgins and I can’t prove that they’re not. But I will believe that they’re not because they have every reason to lie.
They have no reason to tell people I’m a virgin, and we have no reason to. We have no way to prove, we’ll put it that way. We have no way to prove that they are virgins. So again. Just silly. And it relates to last night, there’s really no way to prove that any of these answers were on the up and up. And the couples that they said quote unquote matched up actually were ones that matched up by their answers.
I just, I don’t know if I can buy it. I just really can’t. Especially when it comes to this show that wants to create drama. And it’s still, you can have your new production team. They’re still doing the same exact things that every production team on any reality show does. They manufacture drama.
So it just seemed weird. We saw, and when they were going over the first two questions, Dale and Kat went two for two. So you’re telling me that they were so bad on the remaining questions and answers that somebody surpassed them? I don’t know. I don’t get it. So let’s talk about the Brian thing. I have been critical of Brian all season long.
I haven’t thought he’s come across at all. I think he treats Parisa like shit, but I’m sorry. Last night Brian was in the right. There’s no other way to put it. I agree with what everything well said. Why was Brian the martyr for being the only one to have the balls to stand up and tell Bailey and Bailey was thankful for it.
If Bailey was like, you know what, Brian? I wish you would’ve told this to Jeremy first instead of, instead of coming to me, the woman who would’ve been affected the most is telling Brian, thank you for telling me. Yet everyone else was mad at Brian. It’s not. Make it make sense to me. And if your answer is, he should have went to Jeremy first.
Why? Jeremy had all the time in the world since he made that call to Susie. I don’t know how many days it was in real time, maybe three or four. It wasn’t like the next day that Brian had this conversation with Bailey. Jeremy had plenty of time, but since he squashed it with Bailey, he was never gonna bring it up.
And if he’s trying to convince anybody, I don’t know if he’s gonna take to social media, if he did last night, if he’s gonna do it today and say I was gonna tell her, but Brian beat me to it. If he says that, I’m sorry, I don’t believe that for a second either. He had every chance to step in at any point from the time he called Susie and the time he made those comments to Brian.
I guess during that bird dance competition, he could have told Bailey and he chose not to and. Brian did. Okay, so here’s the thing with Brian last night. Did he do the right thing in telling Bailey? I think he did, yes. Now, when he was confronted on it, he should have just owned it. Him sitting there lying when it was pretty obvious it was him.
That was his mistake last night. I don’t know why. He was telling people straight to their face, Hey, it wasn’t me. I think it was the girls like, Brian, you’re gonna get caught in that. If it wasn’t out there in real time, you’re gonna get caught when it airs. What was the point in that? Like his whole thing was, I don’t want Bailey to see this on tv.
Okay, Brian. Then you gotta use that same logic when you’re asked directly by Dale. Was it you who did it? No, wasn’t me. Isn’t that gonna be seen on tv? If you would’ve escaped that in real time, wouldn’t they have seen that on tv? You sitting there with Bailey and telling her, but look, I agree with what Brian did.
He had every right to, you can call it bro code or not, but why is it on Brian when it should have been on Jeremy? Jeremy should have been the one that did it almost immediately. So when Jeremy tells Brian this in the room, you could say Brian should have said right then, Jeremy, you need to tell her he could have.
Yeah, but maybe he thought this guy can’t possibly call Susie, make this comment to me about proposing to Susie the second she comes back or hitting her up right when he leaves the island. And it not like this guy can’t not bring that up to Bailey. So maybe he just thought Jeremy’s not gonna do it.
That’s my guess. Now, was there producer intervention? Pushing Brian to do this. Absolutely. That’s what this show does. I guarantee every producer went around to everybody on that show and said, why don’t you be the one to tell Bailey? And every one of ’em said, no. ’cause they felt like it wasn’t. I don’t want to insert myself in that relationship.
That seems to be their answer. The consensus answer was it’s not my relationship. I don’t wanna ruffle feathers. So you’re just gonna let it slide. Bailey didn’t seem happy that she found out. Not only did Brian know, but other people knew like Bailey’s reaction is what matters here the most. And Bailey literally said, thank you Brian, for telling me.
So anybody mad at Brian should now be mad at Bailey or telling Bailey You shouldn’t feel that way because she’s happy.
