I had a decision to make in regard to today’s podcast. Do I wait until the announcement was made or do I drop one early, give you my thoughts heading into the announcement and go from there?
I figured I would just do it early and then we’ll talk about the announcement when it’s officially made today. But we’re gonna talk about the call Her daddy announcement that’s coming up and we are going to also talk about Big Brother and what happened with Rachel Riley got a lot to get to. So let’s get started.
So as I’m recording this, it is Tuesday night and we talked about it yesterday. Alex Cooper on call, her daddy’s Instagram account, teased that there was an announcement coming. She had a cake, it said 30th season. She cut into it. It was pink, so people deducted that this had to do with the Bachelor franchise, but the caption said Change of plans.
So people thought they were changing Bachelor to Bachelorette. I wasn’t so sure about it, but the signs did point to it. And yesterday we officially got it. Now, by the time you listen to this, we might already know who the next bachelorette is because it was confirmed yesterday when Alex put out an Instagram reel again that said it was her talking to somebody on the phone at a, B, c in a little skit.
That said, oh my God, it’s not someone from the franchise. How did you get them to do it? And they’re still on that show. So all the guesses have started. My stance on this pretty much stays the same, which is I don’t care who the lead is, all I care about is that there’s a next season. But if you listen to Game of Roses last night, they went live after call Her daddy posted the video and Chad was saying the same thing that I was.
Everybody that he was quote unquote coaching leading into the season were made to believe that they were finalists to be the Bachelor. And now this show has done a 180 and this show has officially changed whether or not you think it’s for the good or for the bad. That’s a personal decision. But it has changed.
They are going to cast a celebrity. They are going to cast somebody who’s been on TV before and they’re going to cast somebody, I’m guessing, who has tons of followers already. This is a publicity stunt. Now, again, at the time of this recording, I wanna put this out there and talk about the potentials that everyone is throwing out there, and you’ll have my opinion before it’s announced.
Because I don’t know when Kristen announces Kristen, that’s one of the names that obviously people are throwing out there. But I don’t know when Alex posts her her podcast. So I just didn’t wanna wait and have to record something at two in the morning, central time or whatever. So let me just give you my thoughts because the one person that people are convinced it is, that’s gonna be our next bachelorette is Taylor Frankie Poll.
Now you know me. I do not watch any of the Housewives show. Have I heard her name? Yes, but I don’t know who she is and I don’t know her backstory. What I do know though, in a simple Google search is she has an arrest and a domestic violence against her in February of 2023. Not to mention she openly cheated on her husband, so again, I do not care who they cast as the role.
I do not care who they cast in the lead role. I really don’t. I say it every year. I care about who I, I care about that. There’s a season, however, I will say this, if it is Taylor, Frankie Paul, I want every single one of you to come with the same exact energy that you did when Devon, who got a restraining order back in college against him.
I want you to come with that same energy you came with for Devin. Not saying that you shouldn’t have come with that energy for Devin, ’cause you absolutely should have. Of course, I wanted you to do it. I was the one who broke the story and rightfully so. Everybody had a reason to be upset that Deon Strader made it through casting with a restraining order he had against his girlfriend in college.
But what I’m saying is this, if they go that route and they cast Taylor, Frankie Paul. You gotta keep the same energy for her that you brought for all, not only Devin, but all the crappy guys that they have cast in the past with shady backgrounds. You can’t have it both ways. I’m sorry, you can’t yell and scream that Devin found a way to make it through casting with the restraining order against him years ago and then applaud them for making Taylor Frankie Paul the next lead if she is.
That’s so hypocritical. I’m sorry. You cannot have. You can’t pick and choose your outrage, selective outrage, as we call it, you can’t do it. So I understand that people make mistakes, and I understand people grow from it, but if they were to make Devon the lead, your biggest complaint would be, oh my God, they just made a former stalker against his ex-girlfriend, the lead of the show.
So. I understand that Taylor, Frankie Paul had this incident two and a half years ago, but it’s still, she had an incident in front of her children, a domestic violence arrest, and you’re fine with that being cast as your lead. I mean, if that’s the way the show wants to go, nothing I say is gonna change it.
And like I said, by the time you’re listening to this, it might already be out there. It might already be Taylor. I have no idea who it is. I’m just saying based on everything that I heard, when all these shady guys make it through casting, now you’ve got a woman who has a DV arrest in the last two and a half years, and you’re gonna be like, oh, but she’s gonna bring so much drama.
I’m sorry. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t promote the drama and just dismiss a domestic violence arrest. ’cause if it was the other way around, you would absolutely destroy a bachelor with a DB arrest in his past, which you should. Like you all did for Devin. You did the right thing, but then you can make an exception because a woman has a DV arrest in her past.
It doesn’t work that way. That’s why personally, before the announcement is made, my guess is I’m a, I’d be a little surprised if they went with Taylor, Frankie Paul. I would, when I saw that story, I’m like, good God, you gonna put somebody in the lead role who just had this arrest two and a half years ago?
Put her child in danger. I I, I find that hard to believe. And if they do, I I, I, I guarantee the outrage won’t be what it is when the men have shady pass and make it through casting, which they should. They should. There should be outrage by every one of you when shady men make it through casting, but then to just sweep it aside because you think Taylor, Frankie Paul will bring drama to the season.
I’m sorry. That’s very, very, very hypocritical. For me in the mornings, got a lot of work to get to, making sure the podcasts are posted, getting them out on my socials, checking the news, responding to emails.
