Daily Roundup 10/8 – A Revelation I Had During DWTS Last Night, Kacie from Love is Blind Speaks – And Confuses Me More, Taylor Swift on Fallon, & My Door Dash Story From the Last Two Nights

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality, Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Wednesday. I got an update on this week’s weekly podcast. I had a revelation last night during Dancing With the Stars, and I will pass it along to you.

Unfortunately, it can’t get done this season, but I think Dancing with the Stars missed out on a huge opportunity this season, and I’ll tell you why. Casey McIntosh from Love is Blind, has spoken out to not only publications, but she went on the vial files yesterday as well. And I’m telling you, I ca, I’m even more confused now than I was before.

Taylor Swift went on Jimmy Fallon the other night, discussed that briefly and I gotta tell you about my DoorDash experience. So let’s get started. Alright. Weekly podcast tomorrow. I don’t even know what number it is. Hold on, let me check my numbers. 4 64. Coming tomorrow. All right, so, well I should take that back.

It’s being pushed back to it’s being pushed back today. It’s gonna come on Friday because the people that are possibilities, neither of them can record until Thursday. So it looks like I’m going to post it Friday. I guess there’s a possibility, ’cause I don’t know what time we’re recording yet on Thursday, but.

If we record early enough, I guess it’s a possibility I could post it Thursday afternoon. Either way, it’s either coming Thursday or Friday. Just know that and it should be a good one. I said in the open that I had a revelation last night watching Dancing With the Stars and yes, I totally get it. You are gonna say, Steve, this is.

Absolutely 100% coming from a place of bias. Yeah, I’d say a portion of it is, but it’s not like it’s a bad idea. Like inherent bias would be saying something, and this is just the way I think because it’s something that I like, even though it makes no sense in the point I’m trying to make. And that is this, you know, at the end of the month.

I’m going to see the Back to the Future 40 year anniversary in imax, and I’m watching Dance With the Stars last night, and they always have great theme nights. Obviously. Last night, the Disney theme night is always a big one. They do it every year, every season. They had a TikTok night, they’re having a Prince Night later on this season, and I’m thinking to myself, why not have a back to the future theme night?

As far as I know, they’ve never had one. I’ve seen every episode of this show. I, I could be forgetting, it’s been a lot of episodes, but they’ve never had one. Obviously you can’t do it this season, which would’ve made the most sense ’cause it’s the 40 year anniversary of the movie, so it wouldn’t be able to happen until next fall season.

But you’d be like, Steve, really the, the music from back to the Future. Well, number one, as you know, the back to the Future has a musical now, which is really good. And even if you don’t take songs from the musical, because there’s only three songs from the musical that are in the movie, maybe four.

Everything else for the musical was created for the musical, but that doesn’t matter if you just took the original soundtrack. There’s easily one, two. 3, 4, 5 songs, possibly six that could be used for dances. So obviously you wouldn’t do it at the beginning of the season when you have 12 or 14 dancers, but if you get down to six, especially on nights where you have to do two dances, why not make one of those dances a back to the future theme night?

Hell, Leah Thompson is a former contestant on Dancing With the Stars. We don’t know how much time we have left with Michael J. Fox. Unfortunately, I think this needs to happen. Like who wouldn’t wanna see somebody dancing and the whole set. I mean, one of the things I think you could absolutely give credit to dance with the stars for the costume and set design on that show is top notch.

And just to have a night dedicated to Back to the future. You could easily invite Christopher Lloyd there. I guarantee Michael J. Fox and his wife would show up. Leah Thompson would be there. You could probably get Biff. You’re not doing anything else. You don’t need to invite Crispin Glover. He’s kind of a weirdo and he pretty much hates the franchise, but you could easily get those people there.

Not to mention whoever Claudia Wells. Mayor Goldie Wilson. I mean, the list goes on. You can just bring back anybody you want, but why not have one? I know you have to have certain themes every season. There’s always gonna be a Disney night. I get it. There’s always gonna be a dedication night like we’re getting next week.

There’s always going to be my favorite year night, but I was thinking about that and I’m like. You could easily do a dance to Power of Love. You can do a dance to back in time. You could do a dance to Earth Angel. Obviously somebody can slow dance and do a waltz to earth. Angel, absolutely. You could do a quick step to Johnny B.

Good. Tell me this isn’t a good idea. How has this never been brought up in 34 seasons of the show? As far as I know, I absolutely love my idea. Can somebody run it up the A, b, C flagpole? I mean, you already missed out on doing it the year they’re having their 40 year anniversary. But can we get it back to the future theme night when it’s down to five or six contestants?

You could absolutely do that. Not that it’s, you know, these are all songs that everybody would know that is fans of that movie. And again, like I said, just because I’m biased towards the movie, it doesn’t mean this isn’t a good idea. I just listed the songs and the type of dances you could do for each one.

I think it would work. I absolutely think it would work, but unfortunately I am not in charge of booking the theme nights on Dance with the Stars, nor do I have any sort of pull on that show. But if anybody that’s listening to this does, maybe you should get it out there. Back to the future. Theme night on Dancing With the Stars has to happen in my lifetime or before that show goes off the air.
