Some news in the Dancing With the Stars world. Max apologized. He did a video in his car and he apologized to Jan and I saw clips of it, and it just seems weird to me that Max apologized for this because he stood behind it so fervently on Friday during the podcast.
Like, what did you think was gonna happen when you said that Max? You literally said the guy shouldn’t be on the show. What exactly are you sorry for? He said he was sorry that it hurt Jan’s feelings. Okay. But I don’t know. What did you expect? You literally called the guy out for his dance career. Did you expect him to take it?
Be like, oh no, it’s, that’s cool. Like of course. Is max more upset that people are bothered by what he said? Is he more upset at the public reaction to what he said and that’s why he felt like he needed to apologize? I don’t know. Max is always the guy that, Hey, I don’t have any filter. I say what I feel, but then he apologizes four days after a podcast.
It’s like, okay. I, I, I just didn’t understand what, why, I’m not saying he shouldn’t have apologized. I’m just not understanding. What Max’s motivation was when he said that on Friday and then to come back four days later and basically what? Take it all back. It’s weird. Cheryl Burke obviously was a judge on the show on Tuesday and clearly there is some major weight loss that has happened in Cheryl Burke’s career.
She has always been open about this and the two times that I’ve had her on the podcast, I know she has talked about her past in dancing and you know, she was an alcoholic for the longest time. I believe she’s three or four years sober now, but when she. Stopped drinking. She didn’t lose the weight that she has lost in the last whatever it’s been, six, eight months.
You’d have to go on her Instagram and just kind of backtrack on her pictures, but this is clearly the thinnest she’s ever been and she took some heat for it online. What a shocker. People, her body shaming Cheryl Burke. Well, the person that body shamed her was Alex Earl’s stepmom. Ashley Dupree, who didn’t like the fact that.
Cheryl said what she did about her and an a TikTok clip said, go take more ozempic. Cheryl has denied ever using Ozempic. I have no idea if she did or not, but it is clear that Cheryl has done, she didn’t just drop five pounds, she didn’t just drop 10 pounds. She didn’t drop 15 pounds. She’s clearly dropped a significant amount of weight.
She looks absolutely nothing like she did when she was a dancer on this show. And that’s her. She said she’s happy with the way she looks, how she feels. Alex’s stepmom says she looks weird, doesn’t even look like her. And yes, she looks a lot different than she used to look. She said, there’s no way I’ve ever taken Ozempic.
I faint at the side of needles. I’ve heard the side effects, people not feeling well. Certain things happen that are too gross to share. I’m not willing to feel like that. I changed my eating habits. I stopped eating past 7:00 PM and it changed my whole body. It wasn’t so much about a number on the scale.
It was about how I feel, and that’s her reality. The fact that Alex Earl’s stepmom said that to her is gross. Put it out there on a viral clip. It’s just gross, and it sucks that Cheryl has to deal with that. And sh, I mean, sh. Trust me, Ashley Dupree, Alex’s stepmom. It’s not the first person to make comments about Cheryl.
Just go read some of the comments on Cheryl Burke’s Instagram posts. It is not flattering whatsoever, and unfortunately, this is the, this is the society we live in now. It sucks. Let the woman lose weight. Yeah, she looks way different than she used to. Like, almost to the point of unrecognizable, but I have no idea about Cheryl Burke’s Health.
If she is unhealthy and she’s not telling people, then yeah, there’s an issue, but I have no idea. She says she looks and feels great. It was about how she feels and she feels great, so I gotta take her at her word. But Alex Earl’s stepmom coming in with the Ozempic blast, not classy. And finally, I know a lot of you are happy.
This will be your last back to the future fact of the night, fact of the week as today. Some theaters had it yesterday, but mainly opening today, this weekend, the re-release of Back to the Future for the 40 year anniversary. One of my buddies who was at my party this past year, he went yesterday with his daughter, said it was great.
He went in imax, said it’s a lot clearer. Sound is better and just want to give my final back to the future fact of the week. Well, until we do a watch party on my Patreon, which is coming soon. We will definitely do that. You’ll probably hear the same facts again ’cause I wanna inform people about things they may not know.
We’ve talked about facts regarding this movie in regards to Michael J. Fox getting brought on set after Eric Stoltz had already filmed three quarters of the movies. He was filming Family Ties at the time, so he was filming family ties during the day and then back to the future at night. We talked about the.
Lone Pines Mall versus the Twin L Lone Pine Mall versus Twin Pines Mall. That story I told you about back to the Future part two with the football game that they were listening to on the radio. So today’s fact has to do with an interview from the writer of the movie Bob Gale, and he said he came up with the idea when he went home for the holidays one year.
And he was looking through his dad’s yearbook and he basically said to himself, I wonder if I went to high school with my dad, if he was a guy that I would be friends with. And that’s where he got the idea for this. Now a lot of things changed. The original title of the movie was supposed to be Spaceman from Pluto, which is a horrible, horrible title for a movie that was suggested by.
The studio they wanted, the writers wanted back to the future after they sent in the script, it was sent back by the movie studio saying like it, but I think the title should be Spaceman from Pluto. Could you imagine if this movie was called Spaceman from Pluto? Anyway, Bob Gale was asked after the fact.
The weird thing about this is that Marty’s parents in 1985. Don’t recognize their own son as they had met him 30 years earlier and Bob said, well, think about this. Think about, think back to your senior year of high school and let’s take if this was real. Marty went back to 1955 and he was in Hill Valley for a week and they saw him on four or five occasions.
Think back to senior year of high school right now. All of you listening and think back to somebody, if somebody arrived on campus and you interacted with them for a week, do you think you would remember them 30 years later
when it’s put that way? Because I always thought that was weird. Wait, how did his parents not recognize him? I always thought that was weird. And then when I thought about it, I’m like. Yeah, I probably wouldn’t have remembered somebody that is at my school for a week, even if I interacted with them a few times.
And that’s how they were kind of, that’s what the writer of the show said, like, no, I don’t think it’s weird because I don’t think a lot of you would remember somebody that you knew for a week back 30 years ago, your senior year of high school. So I thought that was interesting because I never thought about it that way because when you watch this movie and you watch this franchise.
You have to think fourth dimensionally because it’s not real. You have to take time. Travel by how they say time travel would be, they basically set the parameters. Now other movies have done time travel and theirs was different. Terminator was different than back to the Future, but I think back to the future, did it best and makes the most sense to me.
Even though there are still times where I think about things that happened in the first movie, or the second movie, or the third movie, and I’m like, I really need to almost jot this down to be like, wait, how did that event f affect that event? Because there’s a lot there. But this show and this mo, this show, this movie does such an excellent job of, like I said, the continuity and they really make sure everything fits.
It’s why I think the original is one of the greatest movies ever made, and I can’t wait to see it again this weekend for the God knows how many times I’ve now seen it. But first time in imax. I’ll tell you all about it on Monday. I’ll let you know how the movie ends. I’ll let you know if he gets back to 1985.
Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also rate interview, but you gotta hit Play Sports Daily, coming up in an hour from now. So go check that out. Again, thank you for listening, everybody. I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend, and I will talk to you on Monday.
See you.
